Perfect position for walking around Hobart… North Hobart, Battery Point, Salamanca, Macquarie Point. Apartments are well equipped and comfortable (and clean).

Amazing room, far above others we have stayed in in Hobart. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and the manager Thomas made us feel right at home.

Nice decent size apartment. But Disappointed with the services, internet is not unlimited and everytime you have to get a voucher and room service is once in 7 days, paying over $100 a night and still feel like staying in airbnb.

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which was more like to separate rooms, it was huge! When compared to other two bedroom apartments this was very well priced! It was super clean, in a great location and we had no problems when it came to customer service. We also opted and paid for a car spot which made parking at night easy!

Clean, cosy and in a great location, walking distance to all you want to do in Hobart.

OMG where do I start. Maybe the stench as we walked in the door, a cross between wet carpet left in a closed room for a week in summer and a blocked drain. But no it was stale cigarette smoke. But this is nothing compared to the huge fiasco at check in. The Mantra has no staff after 5pm. We arrive at 6pm to a Fort Knox situation with a intercom by the door and instructions to dial 9. So we dutifully stood outside in the freezing cold while the answering service made us feel like we were the biggest inconvenience of her day. Finally we were given a code to unlock the box that contained the sealed envelope with a key and instructions. Great if you are a SPY but sucks if you are a tourist standing outside in the cold. Next dilemma, how to get into the garage so park and unpack our car. Oh, you didn't book parking. Well no I didn't as that wasn't highlighted on the website at time of booking. So we apologise repeatedly and ask permission to park at a extra cost of $15. But NO it has to be prepaid BUT you just took our credit card number over the intercom while we were standing outside in the cold. And to top off the whole experience you HANG UP on us, NICE.

Quality accommodation in a converted heritage building. Some compromises due to architecture, but consequently the rooms are very large. Clean and quiet.

Location good but our room 106 should not be slept in because of constant outside traffic and pedestrian crossing noise ~ better suited for office space or storage ~ sorry but never again will I fall into this kind of trap not good.

Good location, and the room is very big. Can give you the feeling like back to the home.

Roomy spacious rooms nice lounge priced best and value for money compared to Sullivan cove apartments and Somerset on the pier.

Excellent location very close to everything. Would have given higher stars except that our room wasnt the cleanest, covered in dust (set off my allergies and glasses looked like they werent even washed and put straight back.

The location was close to Salamanca markets. However internet isn't free and quite expensive. The room didn't have a stove top. Staff were friendly and professional.

Clean and handy serviced apartments. Provides soap and stuff for laundry which is always handy. Parking situation could be better but understandable for the area. Staff have always been friendly and helpful.

Great central location within walking distance to great restaurants and the warf. Parking at hotel is limited and expensive ($20/night) — — try and book in advance to secure a spot. Our king suite was roomy but needed a little maintenance.

Excellent location, good size. With a little attention to detail this place could be perfect. Keep to the seven day room service, but have a housekeeping package available each morning at reception. E. G. Detergent, coffee, tea, milk shower wash etc. Makes it easier for guests who thought they would have these supplied each day. And, most places don't charge Wifi. Bus stops at the door, big bonus.

Definitely choose this over Quest apartments which is not that much difference. Rooms are fantastic, perfect location.

Great place to stay the only problem is there is not enough parking on site had to park two blocks away at $15 a day.

The suite is large and more than comfortable. The hotel is well located, being just a short stroll from the foreshores and restaurants. Our problem was the lack of parking at the hotel. There are only 15 spots and we were not made aware of this or that they needed to be pre-booked. We found ourselves parked a street away. This really took the edge off for me.

Great place to stay. Well equipped and lovely people. Don't forget your Katmandu it's chuffin cold ❄ Amazing markets nearby.

We were meant to write this a long long time ago… Just wanted to say many thanks for all your help in late November 2015. My husband proposed, you and all your staff were all in on it and very accomodating. Right from the beginning when we checked in, we had a beautiful room overlooking the park. Whilst I was busy with work, under the instructions of Thomas and Hellene directed him to the best florist, restaurant, taxi service and places to make the proposal amazing. The highlight was the hotel room which was decorated by the hotel staff whilst we had a romantic day out and about in Hobart. The cheeky note, of the offer to take my husband to the pub if I had said no was a nice touch! Haha! We had an amazing time, we will never forget our time in Hobart at the Mantra. Thank you for your hard work and making it such a memorable and unforgettable experience. Thank you Thomas, Hellene and all the wonderful staff at the Mantra.

The rooms are very spacious with amazing views of Mt Wellington. Great location if you want to visit Salamanca markets. Parking is very limited so you need to make sure you arrange parking before hand with the hotel.

When we booked, the website (Expedia) advertised Free Wifi as one of the key features of the hotel. There is no Free Wifi anywhere, it costs a fortune, especially if you want to stream Netflix, as the data gets used quickly. The washer/dryer combination is also hit and miss. The washing is quick, and is finished in 30mins. However the dry portion takes sever hours (6+ was our longest), and the clothes still weren't dry. That said, the room is spacious, bed is comfortable and the area is quiet.

Beware of the fine print on the 'free Wi-Fi' the hotel advertises prominently — supposedly this applies to 'common areas' but we couldn't find any for free in the lobby and you need to pay for internet in your room. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay. Nice spacious rooms and bathroom. Having a washer/dryer was useful. Comfy bed and quiet. Close to Salamanca markets and nice cafes.

Great place to stay… Really large rooms (apartment) and only a 5 min walk to the waterfront. Staff are very friendly… Loved our weekend there.

Very centally located within minutes to Salamanca markets an the wharf precinct. The city center is nearby too. The place itself is basic, no common area or lobby. The studio I had was very big but the living area not very inviting to sit in. Reverse a/c was only in the living area, not where the bedroom was. The door didn't have a latch/chain for security. Interior basic but everything was clean. The beds comfortable. Room 101 is wheelchair friendly but also above the garage so it is quite noisy when cars come and go. Overall ok to stay for the value, but compared to other mantra I stayed at it was probably the least appealing.

Using a mattress topper as a blanket is just not right, it's really not comfortable. Two televisions is nice, but one doesn't work and was told that it does after complaining… Still no bedroom TV. The place is clean and the reception staff are very pleasant.

Room was big and bed was comfy! Was dirty and need of TLC flooring in kitchen was broken. Noise from lift all night is load and walls are paper thin.

Great location, close to Salamanca and Battery point. Room had everything we needed, oven, washing machine dishwasher. Separate lounge. Highly recommend.

Rooms were larger than expected and had much of the original charm of the old building retained.

Great location, great price, friendly and accomodating staff, close to Salamanca & Battery Point District Dated Fitout, limited parking (booked with your room if you want to ensure you secure a spot! ) are the only negatives.

Totally ripped off by this hotel. Charged my credit card $500 for no reason then refused to get back to me when I questioned the billing. Very poor form. Beware.

A well laid out and good sized unit. Very friendly staff. Close to the city and walking distance to the markets and what Salamanca has on offer. Would recommend.
