It was a freat experience to stay with Adelaide YHA this time. It was one of the best hostel I have ever stayed with. Everything is just perfect. It is so clean and comfortable，the label prepared for food, the rubbish bin designed, even the tap water prepared for guests just so convenient for us. The activities ，the location ，the service，the breakfast ，I totally love it.

Lovely environment to relax. Great location, walking distance to the central Market, rundal mall and much more. Its a total bargain.

Convenient location, clean rooms, very helpful staff. Found it to be a bit less social compared to some other YHA locations around the country.

The staff were friendly and our check in receptionist gave us good recommendations. The room was comfortable, clean and well maintained. They were also flexible when possible. Definitely will be back.

Really good position and well organized, it was just very hot in the room and to turn the aircon on you need to ask at the reception, at least in the room where we were. Nice clean kitchen. Lovely pancakes offered for breakfast!

Artist friends and I were down for Adelaide Fringe. Great value for the location. Would recommend to any other traveling artist on a budget.

One of the very best hostels around, full stop: Perfect location, comfortable beds, clean rooms, good and clean facilities, (free pancake breakfast) … and outstanding, amazingly helpful staff. THE place to stay in Adelaide SA, by a country (as in Australian Outback) mile.

Easy access in central Adelaide. Friendly staff and accommodation is better than your average backpackers.

Stayed for 2 nights. Best hostel I've stayed at for a camp. Quite decent rooms with locker for each person with a power point in each to charge devices. Quite happy overall.

Great place to stay. It's location in Adelaide is excellent, close to different shops, Adelaide central market and Rundle st. The hostel itself is very clean, staff is very friendly. The kitchen and common areas are very clean and in good condition. Had a good time staying there.

This hostel is good to live. The room is clean and the thing that I liked about the room is that it has the balcony. The thing that I don't like about the diner is that I can smell people smoking outside the dining room. I suggest Adelaide Central YHA is a good place for tourist to live.

Very happy! Certainly one of the most pleasant hostel experiences, all clean, all nice, some roommates are slanted on it, food "disappears" sometimes from the subjects, but the hostel can do nothing.

Love this hostel. It's conveniently located, clean and rooms are very nice. We stayed in the private ensuite. Kitchen is always clean and there is loads of room. My favourite thing is how sustainable and eco friendly they are. There's separate water taps encouraging people not to buy water in a bottle, there is recycling bins everywhere and they even have green bins all over the kitchen for food scraps which is amazing! This is the main reason I keep coming back to this hostel, because I want to support a company that does all this great work for the environment. Common areas are nice as well. There's a TV room, lots of couches, books, a balcony and so on. Staff is super friendly and helpful whether you need tips on what to do, help with tour bookings etc. I'll keep coming back here every time I'm in Adelaide:)

Very clean hostel. Nice atmosphere due to big common room and group activities including ping pong and a book exchange. Kitchen is always clean and tidy and the free pancakes in the morning are a very welcoming start. Rooms are tidy, but often a little small. Wifi is available throughout the entire hostel due to the fact that everything is near the router. The hostel is positioned perfectly if you want to take a look at tge 20 minute city by foot.

The rooms were nice here and each bed had it's own light and outlet, with lockers in the rooms. The kitchen and hangout area was really nice as well.

A great location, quite clean premises. We slept one night in a double room, basic and with a view of a parking (damage, a little expensive for the double room) then in dormitory, with good beds, lockers to close with a padlock, a great kitchen and a great stay common with sofa, free Wi-Fi, books… Staff really friendly.

"Youth hostel australia " without any young people. The people who live in this hostel are literally dead. On the hand hand because they are so old, on the other because they have no clue about any fun in life. Laughing is forbidden and so any activity. You are allowed to sit in a chair and wait until you die. If you are a backpacker you will meet more friends in the middle of Australia then in yha.

If you want to have a good time while staying in Adelaide, the YHA Hostel is definately the worst place to be. The average age of the guests is the one of your grandmother who grew up in the twenties. The rooms smell awkward and the staff is the most unfriendly you've ever seen in your whole life, in fact they are more like prisonguards. If you like spending your holidays in Guantanamo, then the YHA is the best place you'll find in Australia. You can book a room in psychiatrie for the rest of your life afterwards. Have fun!

Common area: kitchen is clean and spacious, eating area is all the same; clean and spacious. Bedroom: lockers are big enough for the bags, clean bed. Air con and fan working. If needed I would come back.

Had a double room at this hostel. From the P/L is a very good choice in Adelaide, as hotels here are very expensive. The hostel is conveniently located in Adelaide to all major places in the city centre. Our room was not too small, had balcony, was clean and air conditioned. The common rooms are large and equipped with many sofas. There you have free Wi-Fi at an acceptable speed — really fast Wi-Fi in all rooms costs extra. On the day of departure not only luggage is kept free of charge after check out, but also all facilities can be used free of charge. That's super! The only downside in my view are the washrooms, which are not so large (each three showers and toilets per floor) and after heavy use in the evening often do not look very appealing. It would be better if the rooms were cleaned again in the early evening.
The hostel is also visited by older travellers and occasionally by families with children. It is certainly not the Allerhippste hostel but still cozy and nice.

I stayed there while attending Avcon one year, aside from the fire alarm going off twice during the night and having to be evacuated, it was a very comfortable stay.

Nice and quiet. They have a lounge area with pool and ping pong. There is a balcony to eat and drink outside, and a grill. There is also a $10 AUD shuttle to the Adelaide airport. You pick up the phone by the exit and request a taxi to the airport. Give the operator the code on the wall for the $10 AUD rate. May sure you are clear with the operator or the taxi driver will pretend they don't know what you are talking about.

The location of this YHA is prominent. The place overall was neat and tidy. Stayed there for one night in an 8 bed room and spent $30 which includes one bed bathroom and toilet privilege and can use the kitchen as well. The guys at the reception were awesome.

Very close to the center of Adelaide. Rooms and bedding were very neat, clean, and tidy. Service provided was very polite, and available 24 hours, which was very handy.

Good services for doing stuff yourself. Free Wi-Fi, paid Wi-Fi and the Adelaide central free Wi-Fi network are all accessible by most rooms. The kitchen, games room and laundry all are helpful additions to this cheep diy hostel.

Awesome place to stay. Not expensive, very clean, good facilities and nice area to hang out and cook.

Stayed two weeks in ensuite room at back. Except noise from garbage trucks was great. All the staff friendly and very helpful. Kitchen good plenty space for cooking and storing food. Met lots of friendly guests all ages. Highly recommend.

Excellent hostel. Wifi works well (especially for Australia), the place is clean (including the bathrooms), the facilities and kitchen are great, there's pool, ping pong, and huge common areas (as well as separate smaller areas). There's a ton of information everywhere for guests and there are large lockers in the rooms with outlets inside of them. They also have bicycle storage and a great location.

Absolut empfehlenswert. Sowohl die Zimmer, als auch die öffentlichen Bereiche waren sehr sauber. Es herrscht eine etwas ruhigere Stimmung im hostel. Einzig negativ: in den zimmern sind nicht genug steckdosen.

By far the WORST EVER "Service" I've ever encountered anywhere in my entire life! The 2 males on duty are clearly sexist as they completely ignored me when I spoke, spoke over the top of me, "Hamdi" rolled his eyes and totally refused to respond to simple there quest to repeat back what I had already asked numerous times (as he couldn't), then had to get his rude sod of a "boss" to take over who was just a bad if not worse! Neither had the ability to listen, answer or have the ability to communicate. And could not handle a female speaking up to them to say their disgusting behaviour was intolerable or acceptable. Then "Hamdi" thought it was appropriate to smirk & laugh at me from behind his bosses back while his boss refused point blank to ask him to tell him in front of me what I had asked him approx 7 times. It is a long winded & pathetic scenario that ended with the manager refusing to refund my money after having agreed to when I had complained about a very loud snorer coming into the room a day AFTER me, where by before I paid I asked "what would happen if their is behaviour in the room or a loud snorer I can't handle? " & the response was "come & see us & we will sort it out". Yet when I did, expecting that person would be given another room, but instead I am told "Bad luck. Either you pay for a single room or you leave".

Clean hostel with some good activities to do every day.
Really comfortable as well with a huge 1 floor to chill.
The staff people is really friendly and really prepared for help with all the infos that you may need.

… one of the best hostels in Down Under :0) My 4th stay since 2003… like the friendly staff, big, cosy living room, kitchen, it is very clean… just a very good place to stay and feel a little bit 'at home' while travelling.

It has everything you would expect from a typical YHA: great quality accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, and superb amenities. It's also located right in downtown Adelaide, making it an ideal place to stay for any first-timer in the city.

Do yourself a favour and dont try book via the internet or contact the hostel by e-mail, technology is not their strong point. Unless you are physically there with a credit card they are not keen to accept bookings — this makes it extremely hard when you are travelling around and not constantly in contact. You think you have reserved a bed only to find oh no well we didnt bother cause you werent actually here at the time. Having booked and stayed at YHA's around the world this is not the type of attitude I expect from a YHA — thank you backpackers I know where I will be spending my money in the future.

The conditions of this facility and rooms were fantastic compared to many other places we stayed in AU. And much larger, too (we stayed in a double with shared bathroom). Everything was clean and staff were helpful and friendly. Great location, too. Definitely recommended! Possible setbacks: you need to PAY for each towel, do not have control of the A/C in your own room, and it can be difficult to get onto internet at times.
