I have worked at this beautiful venue as a wedding stylist. Staff are always helpful and friendly. A gorgwous venue with beautifully kept gardens and romantic treehouse restaurant. Best sticky date pudding I've ever had! thoroughly recommend for a visit, stay or wedding venue.

Ordered the fried Camembert and the cheese soufflé and they were delicious. Topped it off with glasses of wine for the four of us. Service from the young staff was friendly and most efficient. Will definitely want a return visit.

The friendly welcoming embrace, reclining lounge room bliss… Soft toilet rolls, carvings and details beyond this… Ample breakfast, lunch and dinner hampers, you couldn’t want for more…. Discreet footsteps and left in lovely baskets at your door… Thick mattress, comfy pillows, the stunning private view…. Treehouses like no other nestling on the lake for two… We celebrated our anniversary in a treehouse for a while… Amongst staff that feel like family, warm and giving with a smile 😊 (19/20/11/22)

Recently stayed at the whistle stop cabin. It was perfect, private and a gorgeous bush spa. Couldn't be more idyllic. Staff were so lovely. The resort itself is lush and the views amazing. Highly recommend.

We stayed for our wedding anniversary. From the moment you arrive the owner’s and staff are so welcoming. Such a beautiful hideaway! It’s magical garden’s that lead you down to the lake. The tree houses are hidden away all with magnificent views through the landscape to the lake. We stayed in the Secrets treehouse which has the magnificent waterfall right outside the main entrance. Such a tranquil place to stay. You won’t want to leave this beautiful place.

Just had breakfast there with 5 kids, the owners sat next to us and were very polite. All staff were very polite and welcoming and the food was great also, will definitely be back. Thanks all for a great visit!

This is the best place I've ever been. I've always wanted to stay here, after visiting the restaurant a number of times. We were lucky enough to have the Secrets cabin. Every touch on the place was unique and treasurable. We had our very own waterfall, not to mention private views in every direction of the lake and untouched wilderness. You'll feel like you're in another world, finding wood carved animals throughout your stay. The gardens and food are faultless. Our breakfast basket was more than generous. I left my phone wallet and Jasmine was quick to the rescue. Thank you for making my Birthday more than memorable. You won't be able to keep us away!

We had our wedding there in November and WOW! The scenery is spectacular, the food was incredible, the accommodation was beautiful and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Our day ran so smoothly and even though it threatened to rain just before the ceremony, I wasn’t worried one bit, as I knew the team had everything sorted with backup plans! Thank you to everyone at Secrets and we hope to see you at our one year anniversary ❤️

Omg what an experience these people and this place is the best experience you will have for friendliness and beautiful surroundings. We stayed in the Whistle Stop cottage, a beautiful little converted old train station on yr own private piece of land that no one else goes near. Also has a fire place and a private outdoor spa. The staff and food were awesome! Highly recommended!

Ohhhhh wow o wow just spent an amazing 2 days at this awesome resort. Hard to find the words to describe the beauty and wonderment of this place. The staff are truly amazing, attention to details 2nd to none and the food in restaurant is to die for. We visited this spot for Xmas in July as a birthday treat for my husband. What a fantastic place. Beautiful scenery, staff were helpful and attentive and the food was exceptional. Couldn’t fault a thing from the delicious entree to the decadent dessert, I had the turkey, hubby and our 2 companions had the pork, I have to say the cranberry sauce was delicious, and hubby loved the rhubarb jus with the pork. Then dessert, Xmas pudding for me and chocolate Pavlova for hubby … yummy, best Christmas pudding ever, moist and full of flavour and the delicious cherry on top … the price was very reasonable too — highly recommended.

The cafe here was absolutely beautiful. The ambience of the place with all the carved food and hidden among the forest. The service was lovely and very much appreciated. Price was not unreasonable and there is a early bird deal before 9.30am. Would definitely recommend!

Had our honeymoon here and it was amazing everything was lovely the cabin the views the food and services we are definitely coming back every year for our wedding anniversary it was just lovely.

Had breakfast there. Probably the nicest big breakfast style meal I have ever had (I believe it was called the Huntsman). Restaurant was beautiful as well with wood carvings all around. Wife loved it and we may be back to stay in the treehouses.

I recommended Secrets to some interstate visitors and was extremely disappointed to learn that after waiting twenty-five minutes for a waiter, they then approached a staff member to enquire if there was in fact table service. She assured them there was and she would send someone immediately. Still no one came so eventually my friends left and went to Poets Corner for their afternoon tea. Much better.

My wife and I stayed at the Dragonfly cabin last weekend. It was for us the best experience we've ever had. Not only the cabin but the entire site is breathtaking. So much details everywhere you go. The wood and metal work could not stop to impress me at every turn. This would be my recommendation for anyone I know. I am already thinking about going back. I've only got one regret and it's to have forgotten my camera at home! Thanks to George, Aldy and all the crew. EVERYONE was super nice.

We take any visitors here and everyone loves it just as much as I do. The staff are so helpful, the food is scrumptious and if you are lucky enough to stay in the accommodation then you will know how stunning it is. Highly recommend.

One of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The rainforest setting is magical and so peaceful and the cabins feel like they are carved from the rainforest itself. Nothing was overlooked, from the breakfast basket on arrival to the spa and the gorgeous fireplace with daily wood and kindling. The delicious hot croissants delivered every morning, candles throughout your room and the incredible staff that were so helpful and friendly. I never wanted to leave! True heaven on earth. I will definitely be back!

The staff are the best,. My father who can hardly walk was offered a scooter and a staff member at his side at school time were were there. The timber work in room and walk bridges are amazing fantastic. Very clean comfortable, warm and just breath taking. The help from burial coordinator was above what we expected. 10 stars from my family. Was my daughter's wedding.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and area, the cafe has beautiful carved wood nearly everywhere. The lake is spectacular and so was the accommodation we got to look at. We looked through a unit with the intent of staying in the near future. Was such a perfect and romantic setup with a suspended timber walkway between each of the units that apparently all overlook the lake.

This hotel has few rooms but very nice and calm. The interior design of the lobby is very charming. I recommend every body who goes there, stay for at least one night. You can also sit outside for a lunch. The menu is a bit strange, but they serve very nice food. The staff are friendly and always happy. The kindly help you and serve the food. The restaurant also give blanket if there was cold. Enjoy your lunch while watching the lake.

Truly a secret! Staff were very attentive and friendly. The location is secluded and peaceful with beautiful views of the lake. Food was great and prices were reasonable. Will definitely visit again, probably to stay a while too!

Secrets on the Lake is a nice getaway retreat. I wouldn't call it luxury experience as they advertise. The chalet was cute but there is no dishwasher and they required you to wash all dishes otherwise you will be surcharge for a cleaning fee. One of the staff was very rude to my partner when she found out we used fireplace in April — she told us that we will be charge extra for that as is not heating season. Also I am Gluten Intolerant and I told them about that but they were sending us normal croissants or bread for breakfast or for the dessert many cupcakes and cookies but there wasn't a note which one I could eat so end up not having any dessert as the communication was really bad. Also the view for the Lake is not really that great. I will never pay all this money again for the experience I had.

I had my birthday lunch here yesterday. The service was fantastic. We all got a rose on our table and I got a special pink sash on my chair for my birthday! The food was delicious and they were very welcoming to my 3 year old. The view and the setting is spectacular! Definitely recommend!

Had morning tea here today. Beautiful setting and lovely coffee and scones. The wood carvings which decorate the buildings are amazing. Highly recommend! Were even presented with a beautiful rose from the amazing staff.

Staying two nights with my wife we had a very relaxing long weekend. The view of the lake through the trees was beautiful and the accommodation was stocked with everything we needed. We are planning on future visits.

Amazing place. Exquisite… from the furnishings to the food, the gardens and the gift shop, wood carved, polished and pottery creatures hiding in surprising places or lighting your path after dark. Choose from mood music quietly in the background or the peace and quiet of sitting beside the lake, it all adds up to soothing your soul and providing a romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle. The staff are beyond friendly, the food — from scones on arrival and the breakfast basket, the BBQ pack and everything in the restaurant, mouth wateringly fresh and satisfyingly delightful.

Wow! Wow! And wow! again. A superb destination and venue for that romantic getaway or for a chance to just reconnect with yourself, your soul mate, and nature. Perfect surroundings, quality plus from furnishings to food, hospitality and more.

Fabulous setting. A varied menu at sensible prices. Constantly surprised by the intricate bas relief carvings randomly set into the walls and railings of this timber construction. The front door and the couch in reception are superb examples of nature + time, combined with man + talent. We will be back.

Tranquility personified. A beautiful spot for a relaxing getaway or a small function. The lake is gorgeous and the well appointed facilities give you luxury that balances beautifully with nature.

Service was great, the wait staff were very accommodating and helpful. The food was really delicious except for one beef dish that was so overcooked that I couldn't chew it. Other than that, this place Is beautiful and true gem. You must visit this place if ever you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Been here several times, and this time the service was the worst. We booked the table weeks in advance, had to ask the waitress for water several times, waited 2 hours for food to arrive after ordering. Waited another 45min for dessert and coffee. And when the food arrived we were still hungry but the kitchen had closed to new orders and we weren't notified that it was closing. Additionally were only served one set of drinks and didn't get asked if we wanted more. The expectation was that we, as a group of 10, placed our order for all food and drinks up front. For the food itself. The Mediterranean Salad was different for each order. Only one had Olives and the halloumi was sparse. Finally the dessert ordered 'fig and citrus' was jam packed with raisins instead of fig. Sorry to say this magical place has lost its appeal.

I attended a birthday function which included a two course meal. Overall the experience was good with beautiful handmade furniture and great views and great friendly service. The food was ok but nothing special. I am not sure how my meals would compare to items ordered off the menu but I suspect the main reason people would visit or stay would be for the beautiful relaxing environment rather than the food.

Oh Golly this is a real a Molly Spot. You need to discover it for yourself. Has a restaurant. Tree house accommodation… great views… romance… history… and George the owner who gives lady guests a rose. We take overseas guests here for a really special experience. Best to book Has weddings too.

5 stars just doesn't justify the best weekend ever! Whisked away by my husband for our first wedding anniversary to this gorgeous place. From the moment we arrived the staff were fantastic. Greeted with a generously sized welcome basket of fresh fruits and breakfast foods along with a bottle of wine at check in. Then we were shown to our beautiful treetop cabin (we stayed in the Possums cabin) I was met with a beautiful arrangement of rose petals! The cabin was gorgeously presented, clean and showed the most spectacular view of the grounds and lake. The detail and love shows in every part of the property, no words we use could describe it. Every morning we enjoyed fresh hot croissants delivered and left at our door in warming bags and each night we had a BBQ basket delivered with the most delicious foods all prepared and fresh meat to cook on our BBQ out on our deck. At night we dined with kookaburras, we had the company of the same possum both nights and we even got a visit by a gorgeous lace monitor while having morning tea out on our deck! Also on grounds is a gorgeous cafe with amazing selections of meals, desserts and cakes. We dined here for breakfast and lunch, with both meals leaving us satisfied and at great prices. It is run by the most friendly staff who make every effort to make sure your dining experience is the best! The serenity of Secrets was a welcomed experience opposed to our usual day to day hustle and bustle.

I only had breakfast here but walking through to the dinning area was just breathtaking would love to come back and stay here for a while and I got a rose handed to me and they offered to take photos of my partner and i. They definitely think about all the finer details.

You have to go to see it. Blew my mind, the wood work in the tree houses is immaculate its so comfortable and quiet. So close to Montville.

Simply stunning is the only way to describe Secrets. Beautifully carved & polished Red Cedar abounds. The skill of the carving has to be seen to be believed. Take my tip, drop in for lunch. You'll be amazed like I was & you'll keep coming back. Enjoy.

Secrets on the lake is stunningly beautiful, from its amazing grounds, to its warm rustic charm, this is a truly wonderful venue. The friendly staff will make you feel welcome and comfortable, no matter what the occasion.

A completely unique gem hidden in the rainforest. The buildings themselves are works of art and native animal carvings, of a very high standard, are everywhere. The staff are friendly and welcoming and each visit is a wonderful experience.

Go there or you will never know how totally anazing this place is. Youll need a reservation if you want to dine there though. Unfortunately I have not stayed there but would totally love to. Its beyond beautiful.

A beautiful, tranquil spot. Was extremely impressed with the food and the service when I first went a couple of months ago. Unfortunately this was not to be repeated when there on the weekend. My breakfast was inedible, tasted like someone had spilt the whole salt pot in my omelette. My friend also had to send his meal back. As for the service most of the staff appeared to be deaf and confused. Very disappointed.

We had lunch on a beautiful day with a table overlooking the lake. The food service and promptness was first class. We will be back. To call it a cafe is the understatement of the year. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for my wife's birthday and I must say this place is absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect from the room to the food to the customer service. If your looking for a romantic getaway this is the place for you.

Went for a Mother's Day lunch on the 14th. The location was lovely with a beautiful view of the lake. I ordered the vegetarian risotto. Food and drinks did not take long to arrive and the waitstaff were very lovely. However, this was the worst risotto I have ever eaten. The most flavour came from the leek which says a lot. It was like eating glue except less tasty. There were also pieces of uncooked rice and I could only manage a few spoonfuls before I had to stop as it was making me feel sick. The three other people I was with were all similarly unhappy with their bland meals (dry lamb shank, tasteless curry and a cold BLT with rock-hard bread and overcooked chips). After we complained we were told that everybody else liked their meals (irrelevant) and that because we said we enjoyed the meal when the waitstaff approached us (a blatant lie as we were not asked how our meals were by any waitstaff) there was not much they could do except take off $20. Paid $100 to feel sick and disappointed as it was a lovely location.

I took my husband (22nd July) for a rare night away from our little kids for his birthday present and we stayed in the platypus cabin. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by friendly faces who presented us with a lovely welcome basket and scones on arrival. We were taken to our cabin by George (who owns the property) who was so lovely and enlightened us on a bit of history on the place, it made us appreciate the cabin a little more. The cabin itself was immaculate, everything was thought of from champagne stoppers to hair dryers. We organised massages in house through Temple massage, whom were on time, professional, friendly and made us very comfortable. We enjoyed a late checkout of 11am and we were only sad to leave this place but we are looking forward to next time, I think we might have to book 2 nights. I highly recommend staying here (platypus has amazing views of the lake and is so quiet) not just for the accomodation being first class but also due to the time and effort the owners Aldy and George and their staff put into making your stay luxurious, comfortable and pleasant. I could not fault the customer service from arriving to leaving. My husband and I will definitely be coming back and cannot wait.

Amazing place! From the moment we arrived it seemed like nothing was a problem for the helpful staff. Lovely cream tea and breakfast basket supplied, with wine to have with dinner. Stayed in Possums, beautiful room overlooking the lake of course with a lovely log fire, spa bath, barbeque and gorgeous swing seat. Can't think of any hotel I've ever stayed in where I'm actually looking forward to booking again. A truly special place.

Restaurant: Great view / atmosphere, quality food, decent price. The view is the primary point you will take from going here, it's outstanding foliage surrounding the area bringing in the much needed shade, a great view of the lake and I believe everything is hand-crafted in the building (out of wood). The food comes out in an art form, it tasted great though found some unnecessary addons to the meal, it all tastes great however we found the drinks to be the least appealing in taste, still good but didn't meet our expectations with the comparison of the food. The price was decent, perhaps slightly on the higher end. Space heaters as well! If it's a colder day and you want to be seeing the sights whilst eating, they do have plenty of space heaters.

The place is beautiful. We stayed for two nights attending a wedding and couldnt have been happier. Great surroundings and awesome staff and the "treehouse" was anazing.

What a truly incredible place. From the ornate timber carvings to the leafy rainforest surroundings with views to the lake, Secrets has it all. Their cabins are luxuriously appointed with everything you could want for a romantic getaway.

Beautiful spot. We only stayed for a coffee and cake (very good by the way) but would love to stay longer. The grounds and buildings are amazing, so unique and at one with the surroundings.

The most amazing service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. My husband and I just walked for six hours of the great walk, and were dirty, sweaty and horrid. The staff didn't bat an eye, seated us and took our orders. We had a lifesaving coffee and and scrumptious breakfast before heading back for another 6 hours of trekking. Ben in particular, was delightful. We even came back the next day (driving this time) and he remembered us even down to the style of coffee we ordered. I want to bring all my family and friends just o experience dining among the treetops with a level of service that is a touch above.

Recently (August 2014) I attended a wedding at Secrets on the lake and I was mortified when during the farewell circle the function manager (Sara? ) got on the microphone and told everyone they had to 'get out' as it was nearing midnight and the venue had only been paid up until 12pm. The Bride and Groom were only halfway through saying goodbye to their guests but that didn't bother her she simply turned off the music and told everyone they had to leave, she literally kicked them out of their own wedding! It put a real downer on what was otherwise a great night.

This place is amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the grounds and lake are very beautiful and our cabin was incredible. From the hand-crafted wooden furniture and trimming, to the suspended fireplace and outdoor spa, this place has everything you need for a relaxing and secluded trip away.

Secrets has great service and the most beatiful treehouses you can imagine. It really is like it's own little paradise. We stayed during the passing of ex-cyclone Oswald (what a brilliant place to be stuck in! ) and even though the staff had a lot on their hands, they were still very happy to keep us updated and answer all our questions about what is going on. If you've ever visited Secrets, you'll definately have it on the top of your "Places to Stay" list. I highly recommend it.
