Fantastic family resort! The staff are incredible, so friendly, helpful & great with all the kids! The activities and entertainment put on by the resort are great as you can choose to do as much or as little as you want. Yes, some activities are an additional cost but that is expected. The pool, 2 water parks and trampolines really are enough to keep the kids happy each day if you don’t want to spend anymore money. We stayed in the budget accommodation rooms (only booked the holiday 1 week out from Xmas) as that was the only room available and they are a bit run down, however, very spacious. Our toilet stopped working twice — once we were able to fix it and the next time a call down to reception and it was fixed straight away. Only other point of note is Wi-Fi, we couldn’t get onto the free Wi-Fi at all. Not sure why, the person on reception we spoke to just said to keep trying as reception is weak. Overall very happy with our 5 night stay and we would definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unfortunately our room has an infestation of cockroaches. They were even in the microwave and crawling all over my kids. We complained but was just sent housekeeping. Woke up this morning to 5 roaches again. One in my coffee mug. Really gross. We weren't offered a room, late check out or anything that could help our stay be a bit more comfortable. We spent all our savings to stay here and its such a pity that it ended up being a bad stay for our family.

Absolutely loved our stay. We rebooked hours after our check out! Staff were friendly and helpful, facilities were clean, lots of fun activities including competitions and live music! Loved it.

Over priced, old rooms and nothing works Must pay for absolutely anything the kids want to do It’s a rip off cut out holiday short to get out of there the beds were terrible.

It depends on what room you get. The cheaper rooms are very cheap, run down and uncomfortable with bits falling apart, where the other rooms were very clean and tidy. It's almost like they have forgotten the older rooms exist. Tried to discuss the issues in our room, but it seems the desk person never passed on the message. I also completed a review email, and still no contact.

Very clean environment. Clean rooms. Etc. Staff are very friendly. Scrumptious meals at decent prices. I would definitely recommend it.

Our family had the most amazing time here! The staff were absolutely amazing and always had a smile on their faces — you could tell they genuinely enjoyed being there! Our room was fantastic and the activity’s kept our kids entertained all day! I haven’t stopped raving to family and friends about how good it was!

Great hotel they offer hair braiding, ice skating, carousel 🎠 rides and much much more. Defiantly book here you won’t regret.

We spent a delightful long weekend at this fantastic family friendly resort. It's close to the beach — not that our kids wanted to leave the waterslides, playground or laser tag to venture outside.

To give a fair review this hotel definitely provides plenty of fun and activities for the kids. The staff were friendly and helpful. That's about where the positives end. During our stay the door handle on our door was broken; the air con had a broken button and was directly pointed at our faces when sleeping. There was a large amount of street noise and pretty well every morning we were woken by the garbage truck emptying the bins before 6am right below our window. The food was also fairly average. Also I find shower curtains very unhygienic, maybe consider doing glass frame that can be cleaned regularly. If your looking for a place to drink cocktails and let the kids run then maybe it's the place for you. I expected noise but when I can hear doors constantly banging and kids running up and down halls at 1am, that's a bit much for me. Especially given that I had a younger child who needed some decent sleep. I suppose that's probably more a case of parents than the staff. We ended up checking out early and wouldn't stay again.

We recently stayed here, kids had fun, although some of the staff were amazing, all it takes is a bad one to make you feel horrible and one of the girls working the kids activities was just that, horrible. Also in the middle of our stay our room was cleaned and the cleaners took my $140 silk pyjamas. I addressed this with front of house, they said they would follow up, that never happened, so I sent an email, I never got a response. Now I’m writing this review. Sadly, I think the customer service isn’t good if they don’t even respond to you over this type of issue.

This was our third time there, as great as always. We stayed in the newly renovated rooms and they were lovely and modern. See you in a couple of years!

A wonderful place to holiday with the children!
We have been a few times and just completed a trip with friends too.
The resort is very child focussed and the kids all love it. Mine are now 8-14 and they all have fun in the water park. Ages 8-12 enjoy laser tag.
Kids club is enjoyed more by the younger kids, up to age 8/9 — but is still an option if you need some parents only time.
The rooms are nice. We’ve stayed in the new Dusty’s Digs rooms a couple times now & they are wonderful, a little quieter away from the waterpark view. The king bunkhouse is also great for younger children.
So glad there are a couple more gluten-free options available now too.
The manager on duty, Steve, was very helpful, as is the staff in general.
Looking forward to our next trip there already!

Third time here this year. Not a huge fan of the Gold Coast but I love this place. Kids have a great time and are never bored. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Staff are always friendly. Some areas are out dated but the rooms are clean and beds comfy. All we do is sleep in the rooms anyway.

Staff friendly but for what we paid it was below par. We got the old room smelt no hand towels or face washers. Apparently the video game box in the room is being phased out so no games for the kids to play. No dish rack in room we got the Junior Bunkhouse. Paid 60 bucks for parking. Too many claw machines throughout the hotel kids kept asking for money every two feet. Pool area was great for kids if you do not on a Friday or Saturday as can't find anywhere to sit to watch the kids. The halls were dark and our room was so noisy the street noise was ridiculous had to buy ear plugs. The bathroom pokey and the air vent in there all dusty and gross. The air-conditioning in the room smelt funny. Husband wanted to leave after first night. Convinced him to stay as we already paid for it. Kids club was good as we booked like a week ahead. Carpets in the lifts were not vacummed there were bandaids and other delights on the carpet. The penguins restaurant was ok but some of the menu items very expensive. If we were to stay again we would make sure we were staying in the newly renovated Area. Was disappointed to say the least. There were items under the bed that didn't belong to us so assuming they dont vacuum under the beds. Cutlery was dirty so rewashed everything in the room but nowhere to dry it. Understand it's 40 years old but when I saw was renovated I thought great. But no only dustys has been renovated. Check in was long and frustrating.

Kids love the water park, laser tag and ice rink — all in one spot! Staff are really friendly and helpful. Good food and great cocktail menu!

Awesome place for families — Great water parks & heated pool.

We had the best getaway. From start to finish you hit every mark on what a family wants in a holiday. All staff were so friendly and helpful. We would love to give a special shout out to the 2 ladies in the kids zone who looked after both our children, one of which has severe autism. We initially weren't going to send them but then thought we'd give it a go. They both loved every second of it and there were no problems at all. We really appreciated a much needed break. It was also great where the resort was situated to local restaurants and attractions. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

Had an amazing time — very kid friendly which was awesome. Catering very well for my 4 & 6 year old boys. Loved the bunk beds and layout of room. Looking forward to the parents lounge/retreat next time we come! Great to have it all in one place.

Would recommend this resort. My grandkids LOVED it, even the 11 year old one. Best thing was the iPads didn’t come out much, just when a rest was needed. Can recommend the staff enough, very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. From a grandchild being sick at 9.30 at night and they had to bring cleaning stuff up, to leaving the favourite jumper in kids club, which we picked up today. It was a good quality one so could have easily been taken, I was very impressed. Food and drinks were also great and a good price.

Paying 400 for 1 night & cant get no parking had to park offsite and carry bags from a block away. In the gaming room tokens didnt even work in the machines, TV in the room doesnt even connect to netflix & all reception said was yeah TV doesnt work so cant help there. Waste of $400 when couldve stayed somewhere else for cheaper and gotten way better than what was offered here. Will not be coming back here so dissapointed.

I got a room that wasn't the room I asked for. The person who booked it had left. We went into the room and found a stain on bed sheet on bed also towel had mould on it. Told staff. Got brushed off had to chase together get it fixed. My son was supposed to have xbox in room wasn't put in had to chase twice. After a nights sleep I went to reception told them I wasn't happy and asked for a upgrade. I got told sure for a extra $100. I showed them the pictures why as it felt dirty. I ended up paying more for the kids as this was our second family holiday. We went to a junior bunk house room. Kitchen bench had white stains like milk everywhere and hair dryer had another persons hair in it poking out. I showed the front desk and got told I needed to call in the morning. I felt I was chasing staff all the time. Upon leaving I said once again I another happy and showed photos. She said she would get the service manager to call. Well still no call. If this is covid safe guidelines following what are the normal standards. Also why did I have to pay more due to negligence and could not see a manager.

Excellent place to go with kids, so much to do! staff are lovely. Great atmosphere and relaxed vibe… the turf got really hot around the pool so just be careful there. We had an amazing time. Great location. Central to most things. We didn't use the kids club but it looked great. Will be back some time for sure. we stayed in the King bunkroom. Not worth the extra we paid. The video game was prehistoric. Like an Atari lol… and the TV didn't seem to even have a kids channel but I suppose we all have ipads now. Wasn't worth extra we paid above the normal family room rate. Room smelt musty. Bunks were not made just bedding dumped on bed and towels unfolded dumped on the beds unsure if they were clean… Maltesers under the dining table… and toilet had been used but not flushed when we arrived… glasses were dirty… shower was terrible. Needs a mixer. Got frustrated trying to get the temperature right without scalding myself… our room over looked a construction site. Work needs to be done I guess. But for such a high room rate it would be nice to look out to something prettier… so ill rate our room 3/5 the plus side it was lovely and spacious. The soap and body wash provided smelt really nice. Nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle…
reported the uncleanliness of our room to front desk. It was handled well. the room was disappointing but wont put us off going back. Overall id rate it 4.5/5 for families.

Location was Perfect. Rooms are old, they need a lot of minor repairs, very spacious and quiet. Buffet breakfast was a nice gesture, the food was not up to standards, it was warm/cold. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hey, the breakfast is good thats included in stay and the rooms are nice. Pool and spa is awesome. Spa is hot. Just the steam room not working and only 1GB of Wi-Fi for a two night stay. Should be free or say 5GB a day. Other then that a nice hotel. Friendly staff.

I attended a Networking seminar on the Gold Coast on the 14/15 July and stayed for two nights at the Paradise Island Resort. My room was lovely and clean and very spacious. Plenty of hot water and a lovely view. The car parking was easily accessible and the staff were all lovely and helpful. Noise was minimal and I was close to the reception area and cafe. Breakfast was included both mornings and it was a well present selection of hot and cold options. The bonus of purchasing coffee/lattes at a very reasonable price topped my stay off perfectly! thank you so much! Regards Heather Jennings.

My partner and I have been regular stayers at the Paradise Island Resort for almost the past two years now, from comfort to location it's by the most appealing place for us to spend our short stays away! We've been looked after numerous times and can't thank the team here enough for their hard work and eagerness each time to make our stay even better than our last! We LOVE our breakfast each morning! and if that wasn't already good enough, you'll be amazed when you walk into your apartment! … each room is individually owned and decorated so therefore each time is completely different! We love this place so much as it feels like a home away from home, each apartment is equip with everything you need to cook, clean, wash etc! — so without all the responsibilities of being at 'home', you can still stay away with the comfort of everything from 'home'! My partner and I would just like to mention a special thanks to Jason who has looked after us since day dot and continually goes out of his way to make sure we're happy with our stay! We thank the entire team at Paradise Island, and sure will be back! — (We'll be in the steam room ;), Ryan & Ashleigh :)

Have enjoyed the stay, extremely good price and great value for the money. Free breakfast every morning which my partner and I were pleasantly surprised with, more than your typical continental breakfast. Fantastic view, nice heated pool with a spa pool. Found the bed soft and comfortable, shower was quite basic with a little underwhelming pressure. Be prepared to use your hand to wipe your backside as there is no free room service or product replacement if you stay for a week. If you're looking for affordable accommodation I'd definatly recommend.

Credit Card Reservations to the site need to receive an additional Australia dollars deposit. Staff service attitude is negative. The equipment inside the guest room is damaged without prior notice.

Decided to stay on the gold coast for a few days as a family, but was very quickly disappointed the first greeting the guy at the counter said I cant find your booking, then got given the worst room to stay in for a week stay with a little one as we had no means to cook with even though I got told I'd have these amenities over the phone of booking. Practically everything in the room was breaking we then got offered another room which we took but it too had lots of issues. There were people smoking illegal substances and when told they said that they could do it on the balcony. Breakfast was the worst it was all packet and canned stuff not very tasty at all. And the staff weren't very friendly and didn't really care when we left a night early because we were not happy.

Absolutely great place to stay. Awesome and comfy rooms. Breakfast was great. We will be back. Fell in love with this place and would recommend it to everyone.

A quiet calm and lovely place. Away from the town's rush but yet easily walkable to any attractions.

Besides the pool area/location/free Wi-Fi and view of the lake this resort was below satisfactory. We had issues with the washing machine not draining and had to get maintenance, the kettle wouldn't work and they brought up a new one, there are no bath mats, microwave was old and sticky, no conditioner, room size average, clicking sound coming from aircon had to turn off while sleeping and carpet is very old along with dodgy ugly curtains. Reminds me of a backpackers. Restaurant was terrible eggs and beans were cold, you have to pay extra for machine coffee and eat with plastic cutlery… No bacon!

It was clean and the staff were friendly. They were very helpful finding a softer mattress for my back being a disabled pensioner. I have only given them 4 stars because there breakfast was very average. I couldn't eat it. I do not like fruit etc pre cut for the week in plastic containers in fridge which was in main eating area in full view of everyone. That was not classy.

Great location. Bed uncomfortable, fire alarm not attached and in cupboard. Plastic cutlery & cups used at breakfast. Iron scorch mark on carpet. Broken tiles at bathroom. Maintenance in bathroom required. Hairdryer on wall doesn't work. Overall not worth the nightly rate paid. Expected to wait up to 10 days for key bond return. Very dissapointed, wont stay again.

Great location but prepared to be compromised with the quality of service. There was no housekeeping in my room for four nights, no refill of complimentary items like tea/ shampoo. The front office staff are least interested. Room size is okay with poor quality furniture and bed. Breakfast, smwimming and sauna was a good part. Need to improve on hospitality and room amenities.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at! The price was okay, but the room was dirty, there were mold everywhere and the staff were extremely rude. When I attempted to seek assistance from the staff: they offered no help and were being extremely impatient and rude. Do NOT recommend anyone to stay here.

If I could give this place a — 0 rating I would. We booked a room for what we thought was a reasonable price and we are so very disappointed. Our itinerary was a beautiful river view room and we received this pathetic rundown old smelly room! Never again steer clear! Also when asked the manager for a refund or to move us he abruptly said no and hung up the phone.

We previously stayed with your resort for New Years and we were very happy so we decided to book again to stay last weekend, unfortunately this time wasn’t a happy stay the apartment wasn’t clean, the bed was very uncomfortable as it had a big lump in the middle the worst part was this horrible smell and we couldn’t work out were it was coming from until I went to do some washing only to find the wash machine was full of mop heads and cleaning clothes and it was full of water. Very disappointed that no one has contact me with an apology from the resort. I have photos but unfortunately this page will not allow me to attach them.

Nothing compared to the pictures. The pictures showed a beautiful modern bathroom. We got an old toilet with marks all over the walls and on the tiles. It was not our perfect getaway.

Location is very good, adjacent to the neighborhood is not noisy, the room is very elegant and balcony, eat breakfast while enjoying the riverside scenery, swimming pool water quality clean.

Very disappointed with this place, stayed 2 nights here, walked in on or first day to a stench of old and moldy smelling room and bed sheets that were stained. The only Air con was in the living room and was a terrible install with the capping on the inside of the main room with a whole in the wall and alfoil stuffed in the hole I guess to keep bugs from coming out even though it wouldn’t stop anything from coming in and out. Very uncomfortable bed. Carpet and walls were all stained and marked and chipped. We had our 2 young children and there was no plastic bowls or cups for them to use and very little cutlery and cooking supplies supplied either. It is very misleading as to what we got shown what our room was gonna look like to the disappointment we walked into. Would not recommend this to people as it was a big waste of our money. Spent most of out time trying to avoid being in the room. Looks nice from the outside but very dingie room. Nothing like what the pictures on there website state it looks like.

A nice place close to surfers paradise beach. I would have given 5 stars if the employee were more friendly and the place were cleaner.

Nice and private but no sleep in as the kitchen was situated right behind my bed. Limited breakfast and not very pleasurable. Rooms are in need of a good clean. Had to kill 2 cockroaches in the first night. Cheap price but would pay a little extra for comfort and cleanliness.

The room needs upgrades in Manchester and also the air conditioning. The A/C machine is very old and people may think the air that comes out is unhygenic. The room upon arrival smells old and mouldy. Shower head needs to be bigger and higher. Printing at reception is way over priced. $1 for 1 page black and white!?!?!? Other than that, everything else is good. Break fast was good too.

Staff very friendly. Location great. The lobby and exterior looks great but the room was nothing like the pictures online. Room was old very dated one side of lounge sinks in. Room and fridge had a strange smell. Bed was comfortable.

Is perfectly fine accommodation. Looks like its going through a much needed face lift ready for the commonwealth games.

Would have to say don't trust the photos they post of the rooms, because we didn't get what was advertised. It's alright for a night and for cheap accommodation but that's about it. Marks on the doors and walls, shower was not that impressive. The bed was more like a cot given how small it was and nothing but springs and the sofa was just as rough. When we came back to park the car couldn't find a spot, really annoying that bins and a trailer were blocking multiple parking spots. I suppose if you're looking for just the night and you can't find anything else it'll do, otherwise wouldn't stay here again.

Booked a 3-night stay, was charged for 4 nights and they refused to refund extra night, no apology given. Apparent " High Speed" Internet a sham, slower than 56k dial-up speeds of the 90's. Concrete grinding at 8am yesterday directly outside my door. Continental breakfast pretty ordinary. Access to Surfers excellent. Actual room 3/5.

My partner, daughter and I stayed for 3 nights over easter. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with garden views. Price was good however lounge needs to be replaced as it is old and shedding pieces everywhere. The apartment was clean and the staff were really lovely and helpful. Good location not fair from everything. Overall a nice place to stay.

Great! Stayed in a two bedroom self contained river view apartment. Close to the action and not far from the theme parks.

Room was very dirty Close to central Surfers Paradise Room was run down Bed was uncomfortable Had trades people enter our accommodation while we were out to do work, no verbal warning about that. We had valuables out around the apartment not to mention that we don't know what they did while they were in the apartment Holes in the wall, stains everywhere Toaster … I didn't feel safe to toast anything in that. Very poor quality No I will not stay here again.

Highly dissappointing. Not what the advertisement says. Place is old wornout and needs much care. We had a filthy room. Every wall and even the roof in the shower had a hole in it. Poor customer care management. Just did not care. Would never reccomend.

Wouldn't even recommend this place to someone I hated! it has a decent pool that's pretty much it, the management is a circus show, nothing tends to be done by the book, anybody who is unlucky enough to end up here, I cant stress it enough, do not hand over cash unless you have a signed receipt in front of you, I got ripped off, i'm sure a lot of people have too, there's plenty of nice places in surfers that actually look like their photos and that do provide quality professionalism, do yourselves a favour…

DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION! Before I make note of all the negatives, I will mention that: Yes, the location is great. Very convenient; close to tram, shops, cafes, shopping, beach, etc. I will also make note that the pool was quite nice (Spa, however, was cold at night) Unfortunately, that is where the positive factors end! Upon arrival, the ladies at reception were very rude and not helpful at all. During check in, we were made to feel like a complete inconvenience. We also had to pay a $200 bond (Understandable at the time, until we stepped into our room and realised that the furnishes in the room probably weren't even worth $200 on gumtree) (+ $400 if you lose your key) There were holes in the walls, damaged power points, TV remote didn't work, Kitchen stove top didn't work, couch was FILTHY and very old, merely a sheet covering the mattress and an old (dirty looking) blanket to cover ourselves with. To add to our initial disappointment, the air-conditioner was also broken. Even after mentioning to reception TWICE, nothing was done at all — and it never got fixed as both times "maintenance man" was "busy". Our room was located right outside the garbage bins (awful location for the bins? ) and to our delight, 6am every morning we had a lovely loud wake up call. Overall, I would NEVER EVER book this "resort" again. If you are looking for good value for money, there are other places that will also offer good location and similar prices. This really isn't even worth it.

I loved this place! I looked everywhere for cheapish accommodation for the night before my wedding day (only did something very small) and found this place. We stayed 2 nights. Best 2 nights if you ask me. Staff were extremely helpful. Yes we did find some glass on our balcony but one quick walk down to the front desk they had someone up within 15minutes to clean it up. Kids had an absolute ball! and so did the adults ha-ha. I got there about 11am and check in isn't until 2pm however they allowed me up to the room to leave the things I wanted or to sit up there whilst they cleaned, I had access to all I needed if needed I could ever put my son down for his sleep around midday. we are now planning our 2nd trip down here and can not wait until we head that way, we are counting down the days best holiday we had, its got us coming back again :).

It was part of what we thought was a cheap package deal and we feel we paid way way over what it was worth. It looks nice from the outside, but our "self contained studio apartment" had no where to wash the dishes (which didn't look very clean from the outset), other than in the bathroom sink (gross! ). I almost went to Crazy Clarkes to buy a bucket to wash them in myself. 1 roll of toilet paper allowed, you have to buy the rest yourself. Apartments are not serviced unless you stay longer than 7 days, and only 2 thin towels allocated for the whole stay. We arrived late in the evening to find we had to pay a $200 deposit before we could get the key (we had already prepaid the whole holiday weeks ago! ) Then we unfortunately lost the key due to a series of unfortunate events and had to pay $400 to replace it (! ) for a key (! ) why didn't they have a spare (!? ) Anyway we asked for a new key to be made on the Sunday, but none was made until we checked out so for the next 4 days we had to embarrassingly explain to every receptionist our predicament and get them to let us in and out of our apartment several times a day. It made our holiday miserable. There were some really nice receptionists and we were grateful for their kindness. The pool and the spa were lovely and the underground parking useful. It was close to town, the beach and the awesome Surfcity Christian Church. But overall Paradise Island Resort felt cheap and we would rather go camping than stay there again.

When my partner and I stayed last August we found our room still messy, with broken bits of glass on the balcony which cut his foot. So all in all not a good impression. Oh no phone in the room to contact the desk either not good overall. Wouldn't suggest them.

Recent reviews rather erratic. However, the resort is now under new management with lots of cleaning, maintenance and repairs. Good value. Lovely location on the canal with good proximity to the beach and shops.

We saved up for 8 months to take our 3 children to the Gold Coast for the "Theme Park Holiday" that every family has to do once or twice before they all grow up and move out! Our kids absolutely loved the place, and so did I, but there were a few issues: Good Things: Great pool, lots of space, super location to Cavil Ave, low rise apartments on an island, where everything else is high rise and cramped. Bad Things: 1) We arrived early (10 am) and we knew check in was 2pm. We went out till 2 pm but still could not get our rooms until 4pm. Not good when they knew we were waiting. 2) Poor Kitchen maintenance: Microwave platter did not rotate, oven did not seal heat in, stove top old and rusty (although it did work). 3: Couch in main room very old and needed replacement. 4. TV Remote / TV not working. Because we were out nearly all the time, these things did not bug me a lot. It would not take a lot of effort by management to just up the ante a bit, but I'm pretty sure their bean counters know they are offering a good package for the money with the current state of the place. If you look a it this way, they can fix all those things, charge another $1000 bucks a week for it, and you'll not be able to afford it and have to go book a place half as good. I'd rather stay here as it is. It's quiet, roomy, comfy and family friendly. Cheers Bill.
