I flew in to the GC from NZ for a concert check in to budds backpackers the staff were awesomely friend and extremely helpful with what ever I needed love the activities they had going each night throughout the week was superb met alot of awesome people from all over the world made lots of memories that I will always remember especially the happy hour I give budds backpackers a fully 100% a 10/10 I miss you guys so much.

Travelled all the way to Gold Coast with a confirmed booking for this place. Even called on the way to let them know we are coming. We arrive, and they say they are fully booked and they don’t have our booking. Apparently their booking system stuffed up and now they can’t do anything about it. Everywhere else is booked as it’s obviously very last minute. Advised the same thing happened to a person yesterday? So why wouldn’t they change the system?! The only help the lady offered was to “feel free to use our Wi-Fi to look for another place”! Absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT BOOK HERE! You will be left with NO accomodation and no offer of help either. Had to travel back home after as everywhere else was also fully booked (but at least they don’t let you book a room)

Lovely little hostel! Best thing about it is the staff. So friendly and helpful! Heidi went above and beyond during my stay and even made sure one of her colleagues fixed my broken luggage. Not sure of his name but shoutout to him, very kind and helpful. Heidi also dropped me to my greyhound stop after there being no sign of my taxi, so kind of her. Comfy beds and spacious enough rooms, I think the majority were 4 bed dorms which is always nice.

I spent my time (3days) in Surfers Paradise at Budds accomodation.
I was a little anxious at first because of traveling by myself but a lot of stafffs there (they are also my good friends) didn't make me lonely.
They were too friendly and kept the accomodation comfortable (=good job), and I enjoyed party nights with them very very much.
That was fantastic.
I really appreciate Budds staffs.

Great hostel to stay in, friendly staff, cheap drinks at the bar, clean rooms, very good location, if had to say anything negative it wouldn’t be about the staff it’s the other backpackers who don’t care about others sleep at 3am.

Big rooms, but the showers and toilets were not that great. It wasn't really dirty, but islet just didn't feel right. The kitchen was a bit small. But the people were very nice!

Such a cute little hostel! The reception area has really nice decor, loads of cushions to chill on with loads of PowerPoints to charge stuff. Free breakfast every morning was an added bonus not found much in smaller hostels. Outdoor area is big and makes it easy to be social. The hostel puts on nights out every night and drinking games etc. Not far from the centre but super close to budds beach/river too! Staff were super friendly and always happy to help you! Such a chill vibe, Loved my stay here will definitely be back :)

Room is not clean. Dirt and even soil in the bed. Wall, floor ceilling are all thin and weak that make then so noisy when we closing the door or walking. Overal, not worth for your money.

Good hostel to stay in, very social & they hold events every night such as bar crawls, pizza nights, bbqs etc. Good social area with plenty of sofas to chill & nurse the hangovers. Met some great people during my time here which made my time even better however on checkout I completely forgot to ask for my deposit back (first time paying deposit so slipped my mind) & when I messaged them about it they told me I didn’t pay one, when I did. So that’s $30 I feel they have pocketed to my expense, hence the 3 stars.

Their pool and staffs were great but the kitchen and rooms are too hot. There is no AC : (

The bathrooms are getting used to.

1. Staff training should be strengthened.
Chech in when only said the room, kitchen, bathroom where, about check-out time, Christmas breakfast time there are different moves are their own asked out.
2. The kitchen is very non-optimal.
Think of this hostel to cook their own three meals to think twice, the space design is narrow, as long as three or four people in the kitchen appears crowded; the fire broke for two days and did not see repair. 3. Toilet environment is very bad toilet paper often dropped toilet all over the floor, but all day did not see the staff to clear, perhaps can change a thicker toilet paper, will not be a wet touch of paper on the broken.

It sucks.
Booked a room one months before Christmas (three nights) until 25th to check in, only to tell me that the room has been canceled, said because at 12/23 when my credit card can not be enough amount, directly canceled my reservation, also did not give any phone calls and email notifications.
In advance, the hotel did not inform the need to pay first, thought it was to 25th after the day to settle three nights of accommodation, did not expect to cancel our accommodation, to others in the Christmas evening to find another accommodation, there is really nothing to say … Can only be described in bad to describe!

Value for money fits. MA are friendly and effort.

Yea it's not bad it's good just a bit further away than from the centre of surfers.

I was here 3 weeks ago for the weekend and my experience was "ok". The facilities were good for the price you pay. The toilets and showers were not tidy at all, they were dirty and broken. I had read past reviews complaining about the cleanliness; so I would suggest you to deal with that problem in order to improve the guest experience.

They have their own license to sell alcohol and special deals for every night out.

Budds was absolutely mint! Couldn't recommend more highly. The gentleman Matt managing the place was an absolute legend. It had a really relaxed vibe and incredibly friendly and social people. Budds offerred affordable and different dinners and nights out planned each night of the week! Best bang for your buck you will find! Budds I will be back! Cheers legends.

Need more cleanness in bathroom, but is ok! Recommended!

Perfect accommodation for a traveller on a budget. Lots going on, good, friendly people, basic beds but comfortable and all you need. Lots going on socially too.

Me and my friend stayed at Budds last month. We had the best time! We even extended a few more days! It is very reasonably priced, and the staff are so friendly. Cheap drinks, bargain club crawls with a free bbq thrown in before you go out! Free brekkie and a free shuttle to the Greyhound stop! Couldn't recommend it enough.

Hey… I stayed here for a good few months. There was no bother. Great staff. I was working full time so managed to get a good night sleep. Met some amazing ppl and will keep in contact. Will for sure miss this place. Best few months of my travelling experience.

Absolutely love this place! This is now my second time staying here. I stayed for 6 weeks at the beginning of 2017 and now have just stayed a further 2 weeks july-august. This hostel is a perfect location — super close to the river, less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes to the shopping mall! Very chilled and relaxed vibe, everybody including staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool area is lovely and lots of things to do at the hostel and not far from the hostel from free movies, to pool, to sunbathing or taking a dip in the pool to getting ready to party with the hostel to the most famous nightclubs around town. This hostel ill fit whatever desire and passion you have. I will definitely be coming back to stay again.

Too hot to sleep. A fan doesn't work.

STAY ELSEWHERE! We arrived late around 11pm, haven't taken our dinner, dead tired and can't wait to check in to our room for a rest. They mixes up my bookings. Can't find my private room bookings until I show them the email. I Almost got paid for a private room but stay in a dorm. Phewwww~ It was pretty tedious, the person in charge only have 1 key to the private double room, which he can't give it to me, I need to get the key the next morning at 8am-8:30am. I can't close my doors unless my hubby stays in the room because the door will lock itself. When we finally sorted out the rooms issue, he show us to our family room and was shock to find that there are 3 staffs in our family room, hanging out "watching tv". I was very unhappy because I read good reviews and persuade my family to stay with budds. I requested them to change the sheets (they didn't offer at first, but luckily didn't refuse my request) They did apologies, but it I was already pretty upset. We later found that all toilets are outside, non ensuite. I think budds should had highlight this. Didn't remember reading this important information anywhere. Was another letdown because it's pretty cold in the winter to wander in the middle of the night to look for the toilet. Another letdown. Very thin blanket, but you can ask for extra if too cold. But the blanket is poor quality. Wanted to loan a towel, but the reception was not open til next morning ; (Luckily, everyone else brought their own towels.

Awesome room which was a double ensuite, basic and all you need. Fantastic value for money. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again without a doubt.

Friendly staff, nice lounge area, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, pool table, gaming system and a great crowd!

They organize great party every night so this place is very good if you travel alone because is very easy socialise the room is nice with TV Wi-Fi and the bathroom clean wirh also music.
