This was a very… interesting stay. Keep in mind for this read that I stayed with my mum who only has one hand, and is a stroke victim, but can move around slowly. In general:
The apartment was quite clean and minimal, but had almost no amenities like spare blankets or towels. There were hardly any mugs for a cuppa, and only one dishwashing tablet and laundry tablet for a 4 day stay. The car park was littered with rubbish, alcohol bottles, and broken glass (despite the building’s strict and almost militant no party policy). We booked a late checkout which somehow wasn’t communicated to the cleaning staff who rocked up at 10am anyway. The real kicker:
What was really disappointing about this place was how inaccessible it was. From the keyless locks and the slow and outdated Lenovo tablet to control the tv, to the high cupboards — it isn’t a suitable place for a person with a disability or injury. There is no free-to-air TV which boggles the mind, but it’s all done via a chrome cast. Now, as a 23 year-old, I don’t usually have issues with basic technology and chrome casts, but this system was utterly unusable. The laggy, dodgy Lenovo tablet was really hard to use to just watch normal television. The apps kept getting locked and logged out, and it was such a process just to change a channel. It was quite frustrating for someone to use who only has function of one hand and who is senior.
