Nice hotel. Good amenities in good location.

I really enjoy lunch at Covert at the Jephson. Good food, good service all at a reasonable price.

I recently stayed after a Qantas Flight change and the wonderful receptionist let me in earlier than checkin time. The apartment was great, food was great — very much appreciated. Will be back.

Stayed here with my family for my sisters wedding. A weekend that was supposed to be relaxing, and a joyful time was completely ruined by the extreme noise going on upstairs with renovations. 8am every day we were rudely woken up by extremely loud jack hammers right above our beds. So loud we cannot even hear each other talk. My son and daughter were woken up by the construction every day, which also frightened them due to the loud noises. We booked our rooms months in advance and were never once informed that renovations would be taking place during our stay, we only found out once we got there when it was too late to book with another hotel. Won’t be staying again. Very disappointing considering this was supposed to be a special time in our lives.

Really nice place, nice room, nice location. Just had some construction happening so couldn't get that nice sleep in.

Nice rooms however power turns off completely when you leave the room meaning you can't leave electronics to charge or other things plugged in.

Great place, helpful staff. I went there for a job interview and the staff directed me to exactly where I needed to go, they have food options and toowong train station is just nearby as well as toowong shopping villiage, if you do stay here you won't regret it!

Decent, affordable focused hotel. We had room 303 for three nights. The room was was large, with a good sized balcony, and a slightly smaller but adequate bathroom. Standard amenities (although, bring your own caffeine-free tea if you want it, as they supply only English breakfast and green). Room was serviced daily, with consumed amenities replaced. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning is digitally controlled within the room, and worked well, although it was unusually loud (my partner was able to sleep with it on low, but I needed to use ear plugs, which as an experienced traveller, I always bring). The black-out curtains have the typical gap at the top between the certain track and wall, rendering them basically useless. Bring a sleep mast if you want to sleep past dawn (which was about 4am when we visited! ). The iron was in good usable condition, with no burns. Cleanliness was a B+. We've seen far, far worse in hotels that claim a much higher standard. If you're put off by the odd stain here and there, less than stellar maintenance, streaky surfaces etc, I'd recommend adjusting your standards for the price point. There's an attached restaurant, and room service is an option, but it operates more typical restaurant hours (6:30am-9pm, except weekends when the restaurant opens at a later 8am, and is mysteriously closed after breakfast).

Nothing flash but well located in the suburb of Toowong about a 10min bus or 20min ferry from the city centre. Included breakfast was not great though — super oily scrambled eggs, toast sitting in a puddle of oil and a single piece of bacon. No greens, tomatoes or plant material of any kind to be seen…

Had a group booking of about 20 rooms for our wedding guests. Messed up most of the bookings so numerous people had to switch rooms mid-stay. The receptionist tried to explain that it was due to a past worker who had taken the bookings wrong, but I don’t feel it was handled very well. On top of that the rooms weren’t cleaned very well. Probably wouldn’t stay again.

Nice rooms, friendly staff. Can be quite noisy from passing traffic and cleaning staff. Room not overly clean such as dirty light switches and previous occupants had put dirty cutlery back in the draw. Overall a good place to stay.

Nice comfy rooms and close to many eating joints.

I have attended two group luncheons. One was in a dining room, and one in a larger dining room on the ground floor. In each case, the hotel management was good and unobtrusive. Each was buffet style. Food was delicious. Price of food and drinks seemed reasonable. Sound system was very suitable. Staff was efficient and low key. I would certainly go back again.

Always great to go to the Jephson. The food and the coffee is always outstanding and the staff are fantastic — professional and friendly. I always recommend it when someone wants to meet somewhere in Toowong.

Always amazing service and great value for money. Rooms are private and very clean. I have stayed on all floors now and all room types. I have been to a school ptesentation here also. Eaten room service. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast. This is a great cental location as all transport hubs are nearly plus great FREE parking. ENjOY and please give feedback. Loved the meal choices. And depth of knowledge and training (as a trainer myself).

Fantastic service and a great location to enjoy a relaxing weekend on the Brisbane River. Dining is also great at the in-house restaurant Covet! I would recommend to anyone looking to spend time outside the CBD for their Brisbane stay.

Being a local, I have visited this hotel on many occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are wonderful and the food has always been of an excellent standard. I have dined here for breakfast lunch and dinner and have always had a great time. And the tapas on a Friday night is a great idea.

The first thing I noticed when we got to our room, was just how quiet it is. They have some fantastic sound proofing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is excellent.

As a local I was glad to see a new place to try in an otherwise fairly dull restaurant scene. Unfortunately the Jephson Hotel doesn't hit the spot. They owners have gone cheap on the interior — the place feels more like an RSL than a fine dining establishment. I say 'fine dining' because with $15-$20 entrees and $35 mains, the Jephson pitches itself against places like Drift and Joseph Alexanders on cost. The meals themselves were a mixed bag. My partners pork belly ($15) was a tiny tiny sliver of pork, dressed ostentatiously like a prima donna. The chef had spent more time frocking the tiny morsel up for a night out on the town than considering that his patron might be hungry. My duck salad was delicious (but again, tiny) and my partner's atlantic salmon was good however, once again, very small. We're not big eaters but we left hungry after $120 and had a bowl of cereal when we got home. The service was excellent though. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately again with the prices they're charging they will need to up their staff training (the young lady reached over and across us every time she set our plates / filled our glasses, and when we said no to wine, left the four glasses on the table for the remainder of the meal). This place could do well if it focused on serving good quality, slightly more upmarket, filling food. But the combination of dull, cheap interior, overpriced but unfulfiling food, means it's off the mark.
