Awesome hostel. Very friendly and happy staff. They clean the kitchen, rooms and toilets everyday. Even managers clean the kitchen more than one in a day. Close to shops, pubs and the train station. Free parking on the streets nearby. Guests are mostly from UK and EU. You will find variety of nationalities and very friendly people there. Affordable rates. Highly recommend.

Excellent location, close to train and buses, also a short walk from vibrant Newtown. Rooms are compact but clean, comfortable. Free Wifi. There is also a deck and lounge for socialising.

We stayed for 4 nights, the experience was really great. It’s clean and neat, love the kitchen especially. The host was very nice and attentive to details. Would definitely love to come back and stay.

Exceptional when you are looking for a place where to be welcomed like home. People and service are amazing. I definitely recommend this hotel. I miss you guys!

I planned to stay here a week but it turned into 6 weeks
Such a good chilled hostel, clean, comfy, very friendly and helpful staff and there is the Stanmore train station down the street
Usually there is a promise with hostels But not here.

Location: close to Stanmore station, good for city trips. Close to the airport too, great if you want to hear the airplanes every 5 mins instead of sleeping (not to mention the cold in the rooms).
The hotel itself is very odd, to go to the kitchen you are obliged to get out of the building, and get back by the reception. The kitchen: correct, on the other hand to take his meals it is in the open air. In winter we really freeze. The toilets clean but only 2 showers for a whole floor (with toilet in the shower room, must not have any urge). Light in the bathroom only 8 minutes, never seen! The only positive thing is that the receptionist is nice.

Near to Stanmore station, the owner Zorica is a kind lady. Facilities are clean and includes breakfast. If you drive a car, be prepared to look for on street parking in a crowded suburb though. Free Wi-Fi available but it's wobbly.

Clean room, great facilities. Very central to newtown/Enmore, short walk to a pretty good night or day out. Would recommend.

One of the hostels I've ever been to. The staff was really nice and predisposed. Clean bathrooms, nice kitchen and common areas, including a backyard, everything really organised. The breakfast was included and pretty ok. Close to the train station. Definitely recommend this place!

I personally saw, not just one but a few rooms in Cambridge Lodge and they were clean cosy and very liveable. I can recommend the lodge to anyone who comes looking for accommodation in Sydney. On top of all this their management is very friendly and welcoming. Well done Cambridge Lodge and management! :)

Filthy room. Broken windows. Broken glass panel over the door. Unmade beds. Cockroaches running over the wall and bed. No private bathroom as promised by booking. Com. Rude staff. No parking for several blocks… whilst there was 8 spaces empty on site. Communal bathroom was filthy. No text sent to gain entry. Waited 25 minutes to get in when someone delivered pizza. Disgusting place. Photoshopped photos. It's a shit box.

Clean. The rooms are to hot. Is good for a couple of nights!

I have stayed here 3 times loved it the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms and facilities are clean there is free continental breakfast the use of the kitchen if you want to cook free tea and coffee all day there is lots of brochures to browse books to read and you get to meet all nationalities some even become friends I highly recommend Cambridge lodge.

I enjoyed my stay their really and extended it a lot of times. The staff is very nice and friendly and the hostel is one of the cleanest in Sydney. Furthermore the bathrooms are modern and you'll find everything you need in the kitchen. You can meet their people from lots of different origins. I really would recommend it.

Fine location, has a terrible smell to the building and 2 shared bathrooms for the whole place. Overall it was fine and came with some breakfast which you have to make yourself. But I would'nt go there again as it stunk, people smoked inside and its overall dirty.

Quiet and economical place. Shared bathrooms always have hot water. The rooms have everything you need for long stays. The beds are not very comfortable and in winter the rooms are cold.

Friendly staff. (specially Zorica) the room was really good, it has breakfast included which is also good. however, it had a big problem, it has the WORST Wi-Fi I've ever used. (I did the speedtest and it has less than 1 MB) and on the middle of the night, the internet connection stopped working. They should fix that, quickly.

Very friendly staff. Close to the airport and town centre. Rooms are very small for a 2 — 4 persons. Could be better if it's a 1person for 2people.

Cheap and general location is convenient for accessing Newtown.

Whilst we didn't really have much of a choice in accommodation in the area we opted to stay at the Cambridge as it is quite centrally located. It was basic, fairly clean and staff were reasonably friendly. I didn't sleep a wink as I was waiting for a flea to dive bomb on my skin — I had the heebee geebees the whole night. You are not given a top sheet in the bed and I was frightened to move too much in the bed in case it collapsed. I didn't shower as I couldn't stand the thought of stepping on a bath mat that lots of other people would have used. The towels are stiff as a board and I wondered and wondered why I just didn't drive home after a fabulous night out at the Enmore Theatre. The breakfast had minimal cerials (all unhealthy) on offer. I won't be back!

Very clean, lovely manager and good service/prices!

The good — 4 minutes walk to Enmore theatre and cafes. The bad — Jets coming in to land every 20 mins overhead No air conditioning & sweated it out at night. The bed is a welded steel RHS thing with a timber base. Sadly we couldn't find anywhere else to stay. 25deg cooler outside the room.

For our two week holiday to Sydney, we stayed in this hotel very charming!

I have been travelling for around 3 months now and havent come across any accommodation that is as good as Cambridge Lodge in terms of value. Very yummy breakfasts to wake up to, great central location close to some lovely cafes and attractions, and very welcoming and friendly staff. The rooms were well looked after. I would recommend Cambridge Lodge to anyone! A++.

We stayed at Cambridge Lodge as we were heading to a concert at the Enmore Theatre. Location was perfect as it is only a short walk and the lodge and staff were great. Recommend to anyone looking for great place to stay in central Sydney.

I have been at the Cambridge Lodge for nearly one month, while I was looking for a permanent accomodation in Sydney. The place was always clean and tidy (spacious kitchen and two bathrooms) and Terry and the rest of the staff were friendly and always willing to help and make my time there comfortable. The location is perfect, as it is very close to Stanmore station and an IGA supermarket, but also it's at walking distance from Newtown with its shops and cafes. Moreover, the price is very reasonable! In conclusion, staying at the Cambridge Lodge has definitely got many 'pros'. Perhaps the only 'con' is that the rooms are not exactly like the ones shown on the website and it might be a bit cold at night. But apart from that, I would highly recommend it.

I stayed at Cambridge lodge for nearly 3 months between March 08. Dont be fooled by what the site says or by the pictures on their website. This place is not worth the money ur paying. Wow where to start their so called continental breakfast is cheapo cereal, 1 loaf of bread and 1 3lt milk to share with heaps of ppl sometimes ur lucky to get any, the juice is not real juice its some concentrated thing u mix with water. Most times the kitchen is a mess and disgusting cause their are some grubs that stay their who dont clean afta themselves. The bathrooms is shared and sometimes dirty once again due to certain guest, their are only 4 bthrms (1 of them disabled) between about 15 rooms. The laundry is NOT free, they are coin operated, u only get fresh towels once a week. Also their are foreign students who stay next door who are rude and make lots of noise/partying during all hrs of the night. Lastly the owner of the place is a real A**hole who doesnt look after his guest properly. So save ur money and time and look 4 something that is much better than here because this is definitly not a 2* place. How they got that rating is beyond me.
