We booked a two bedroom apartment and it had everything you needed. Great location, excellent configuration of the rooms. Very clean, modern and had all required amenities. Also close to restaurants and bars. Will stay again.

The best place I’ve stayed in Canberra.
The bed was luxurious, the room is tidy and well set out, the little amenities like make up remover wipe and cotton pads were very handy.
I’ll be staying again!

The rooms look great. We stayed in a One bedroom apartment, was so much roomier than just a hotel room. It was very clean, housekeeping do a fabulous job. The bed was very comfortable and bouncy. 5 stars from me.

This hotel prides itself on delivering horrible customer service (5 Star effort), the customer service from their duty manager is one of the worst I have experienced in hospitality but don't let them know that as the duty manager couldn't care less as they are rated on TripAdvisor (that's the response you get from a "Manager").
Quite glad we never stayed here after receiving such bad service and found a fantastic hotel to substitute this poor experience.
Feel sorry for the staff the way they get spoken to by the duty manager as well is unprofessional.
Thanks for providing me with the low level of service you did which allowed us to find an amazing hotel which actually knew how to treat its customers with the level of respect and decency that one would expect.

This is my second time staying at the Avenue, the first time I had no problems whatsoever staying in building 1, staying in building 2 this time and we have had a few problems. It’s annoying how I don’t have mobile service on my phone (Vodafone) but they do have free Wi-Fi to combat that. We couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to work on our laptop though, we tried doing what reception suggested but it still didn’t work, they did offer us to bring the laptop down to help us. One of the phones in our room doesn’t work, but there is another one to use, our deli selection platter from room service was missing one type of cheese but it was yummy. Apart from that it’s a really great place, beautiful big spa bath and very nice clean rooms. Despite the few little problems we have had this time I would still recommend.

Great location and has big room, with ample parking and very near to night life, parliament and other places of attraction… price is affordable.

This hotel is very central for the Civic and Braddon areas. Renovated throughout it provides all the amenities you’d expect and makes a good work hotel. The room I stayed in, while large and well appointed, did feel a bit sterile though and the outlook onto Northbourne Ave means you will have pretty constant road noise.

Very good upmarket hotel. Nice bar and a good steak restaurant. Beds are really comfortable. Helpful, friendly staff. 24 hour access. Close to lots of nice restaurants, pubs, post office and shops.

Stayed for a night for business. For the price I paid which ended up being about $150/night for their basic room, it was a fairly decent value. Whilst not a true 5 star hotel compared to what you can find in other cities or Asia; in Canberra, it's probably about the best. Rooms and bathrooms are adequately sized and clean. Staff polite and generally pleasant. Parking though comes at an extra cost of $10 except if you book directly with them. Breakfast can be prebooked at $20 and is average as hotel breakfasts are concerned.

Location is perfect, Canberra centre is just 2 min walk. And there almost got all best restaurants. Close to ANU as well. Room equipments are nice and space is huge. But the breakfast is a bit disappointing. And the bed is too soft, can't hold your back at all.

Rooms are extremely clean and neatly presented.
There were a few things that should’ve been made clearer via the website such as rooms with a spa bath is upon request and not available for online booking deals and extra cost paying for the bond must be done using a card with a chip. But overall, the staff we booked in with was more than happy to answer questions and inquiries.
Will be back in the future to stay here again.

Really pleased with this hotel, didn't know what to expect as there are many to choose from however I am very happy with our choice. Massive rooms, really well kept, large flat screen TVs in the bedroom and living room. The room is more like a self contained apartment rather than just a room, so great space. Conveniently located close to the city and just a quick drive to most of the tourist sites. Would highly recommend. Free parking when you book directly with the hotel too so really handy.

After being at Selwyn and my son had a seriouse mouth injury. I couldn’t wait to get to my room. Very clean and happy. On the other hand service from the Night manger is why I rated this 1 start. I am very very disappointed. I had placed room service and got the opposite of what I asked for. One thing is I won’t tolerate a Manager who tries to blame others for his own action or other staff members in different department. I was hoping for a professional outcome. NOT! I won’t stay here again and won’t recommend due to lack of communication and I think more training on taking a role that is very important to the image of a hotel, as good as The Avenue.

We had a fantastic night there. Really friendly. The rooms are really clean and brand new and very comfortable.

We stayed in a one bedroom king suite which was really nice, brand new and spacious. The common areas are great and the room furnishings were great too. The service was also fantastic. This would have been a five star rating but a few little things let them down, the toilet seat was broken and wouldn’t stay up, there were no mirrors in the bedroom, they didn’t replace the body wash when it was finished (old one removed, but not replaced) and the internet was painfully slow, assuredly so you would upgrade to the paid service. I would still stay here again on value, but if you looking for seamless they have a way to go yet.

This is a really beautiful, recently renovated hotel. The room and bathroom were immaculate. The attention to detail on the finishings was great: beautiful art, lounge chairs, desk, and headboard in the room, as well as tasteful glassware, and an excellent selection of bar fridge and snacks options. There was even a good-sized balcony with tasteful stools and a table. The bed was pretty comfy, and when I called up to have them bring more pillows, the service was prompt. I love that they have a reasonable pre-order booked breakfast option for $20 in their restaurant. This is such better pricing compared to other buffet breakfast options, and the food turned out to be pretty good. Overall, I was really impressed with the service and attention to detail in this hotel. Would go back.

Rooms are lovely and clean, location pretty good, service is awful. Came down with a sore throat and asked for a couple of lemon wedges and honey packets, told that wasn't on the room service menu and that the breakfast buffet in the morning might have what I want. You're literally paying for the room, staff are rubbish.

Long term stay for business. Moved here from the Pacific hotel because the rooms are cleaner and the amenities are much better.

We got lucky to have an apartment suite. One of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. The location is excellent as well. Only a block away from a fun bar scene. I would also recommend the breakfast downstairs. $20 for a completely full spread all you can eat. Would 100% recommend this as THE place to stay in Canberra.

I got a very cheap room through Qantas frequent flyer. The whole place is very nice and clean. It's not like a typical luxury hotel that is very gratuitous, but everything but everything is of good quality. The airport shuttle was not available and the milk frother didn't have the correct spinning mechanism. I'd go again if I got another discounted room.

Highly Recommend as the ultimate Staycation! Book direct with the hotel website and you wont pay a credit card fee and receive free parking under the hotel. Staff are super friendly, the rooms are clean and the 1 bedroom apartment is spacious with a comfortable sitting chair, couch and a huge TV (on demand movies are a premium cost however). Kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, stove top, fridge, everything you could want for a stay away from home! The bathroom is large and they provide a real hairdryer. The bed is so comfortable and there is a TV in the bedroom. The hotel is within walking distance from the Canberra centre and from Braddon. If you book through the hotel you receive a discount on breakfast at Marble and Grain. Definitely affordable Luxury hotel in the heart of Canberra!

Loved the one bedroom. Neat and clean. The check in took some time but otherwise a great place to stay in Canberra. I didn't try their restaurants as the place to close to number of popular restaurants. A short walk from the main city centre. They provide complimentary tea and coffee sachets, kettle, etc. Family friendly.

Room was excellent. Kitchen, lounge, dining, laundry, bedroom and two balconies. Great location with a large number of restaurants only 5 minutes walk away. Basement parking. 10/10, would stay again.

Location is very central, many restaurants nearby. Rooms are modern, clean and very nice. The service of all staff has been wonderful.

I have stayed here 15 times now with my family. It is a great place to unwind with excellent service and amenities. I have deducted a star as the restaurant menu has not changed in several years now. Its getting old.

Loved the two bedroom apartment. Clean, new and spacious. Good location. Accommodated our whole family and was a lovely space to come back to every evening. Price was reasonable. Take note that they charge 10 dollars a day for parking unless you book through their hotel website (which is more expensive). The hotel restaurant served good steaks.

The hotel is very nice. It's modern and very up to date. Rooms were hot and wouldn't want to stay in hot weather. Air conditioning didn't work and when it did work it would turn off when you left the room to go for a walk or to sit on the balcony.

Great apartment — clean, big and modern. Received breakfast the first week we stayed, but the second I was told it's not included. Supposedly breakfast is not included in the more expensive rate, despite being included in the cheaper one… :/

Great location, great room. Great bar. But I could hear every motorbike and car driving all night, and late night revelers. Needs double or triple glazing.

A very nice and comfortable hotel. The staff was always helpful and friendly. The restaurant downstairs was good and reasonably priced for a hotel.

It was our second visit, but I didn't like it this time. At check-in I had to ask how to get to my room instead of being told where it was. "I wrote it down for you", said the receptionist. Who does that? Writing down a room number doesn't substitute welcoming a guest and directing them to the room. If you're a family with children, forget about trying to relax there after putting kids to sleep. There are many very bright lights that will keep you as alert as a fleeing kid. There is ONE floor lamp in the living room that emits about zero light. So, you're got two options: being blinded by the hospital grade overhead lights or sitting in near complete darkness. The same story in the bedroom. Trying to read without disturbing someone in the other side of the bed? Forget it. You won't be able to see anything because the side lamp is useless. The hairdryer has a tight coil of a cord and unless you're an athlete with freakishly strong fingers, you'll spend the entire time pulling the heavy gadget over your ahead and also squeezing the handle to keep it working. I understand they try to deter people from stealing, but it was just too cheap for an "exquisite" hotel they aspire to be. There are pluses: Free parking if you book through their website Nespresso machine Large TVs They can lock the minibar over phone.

Location is great, right on the main road but far enough back that you don't get the street noise. These apartments are still new and extremely clean. The one bedroom apartments are a great size and easily large enough if you wanted to stay for a lengthy period of time. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The Avenue also provides ample parking at a great daily rate.

I can say it was amazing and so easy to access in n out — highly recommend to all of my brides! Very clean — roomy — also girls asked for a chair and it was there before I got there — nothing is a problem. …

We have stayed in eight different hotels on our visits to Canberra including four out of the top five rated on Trip Advisor. Our latest stay was two nights at the Avenue Hotel. Although we have enjoyed other hotels and each has its good points, the Avenue had everything we wanted and will become our regular place to stay.
The Avenue's location is perfect, with an easy walk to the city centre or to the popular restaurants and cafes in Braddon. Service and food at the Marble & Grain restaurant was outstanding. Breakfast was enjoyable, as was Happy Hour each day in the hotel bar.
Hotel staff were both friendly and helpful and our spacious one bedroom apartment was modern and clean. It was our first stay and we were given a room upgrade. Our apartment overlooked the courtyard and was very quiet.
We wanted privacy each morning and the note that was left telling us to just let housekeeping know if we would like the room serviced before midday was appreciated.
Complimentary Wi-Fi, newspapers and the use of a decent coffee machine were bonuses.
