Our second stay in this fabulous hotel. The layout of the room is spacious and the bathrooms are amazing. The best club house I’ve ever seen with very friendly and professional staff. Love it thousand times 🥰❤️💝😍🙏💝

When we checked in there were $196 of mini bar items missing from the fridge. They assured me the would be replaced the next day. Returned to the hotel only to discover $76 of its still missing. I know if not reported they would assume the last guest consumed and charge me. The Duty Manager was called. When he asked how can we make this up to me he rejected my response, he offered 20% off the room rate. Ok I thought. But when it happened on day 2 again. Enough is enough. Housekeeper confirmed the mini bar was not checked after the previous guest left. Also made a reservation for dinner at $90 per pax and they could not allocate the requested table previously confirmed in person 5 hours previously. The hotel has a don’t care attitude at $368 per night. Not acceptable in any language. 😡

A friend had booked dinner for us, when we arrived no booking, even though she confirmed and received a phone call to confirm. We were asked could we afford the minimum $30 per person charge which h we found extremely insulting the way it was asked, this place was chosen as it was also the night I was proposed to over dinner and my dear friend had arranged it with you and nothing was done, just disappointed by the way we were made to feel not good enough.

Loved our stay, the staff are helpful the room is spacious and comfortable. The restaurants& bar in particular the Tea Lounge are great!

We had an amazing stay at the Hyatt in Canberra. From the beautiful suite, to an amazing dinner, to the fabulous Clubhouse, through to the incredibly helpful concierge team! A big shout out in particular to staff member San who greeted each person with a genuine smile and for whom nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend Hyatt Hotel Canberra!

Very disappointing experience at Hyatt Hotel Canberra tonight when going there for pre dinner drinks for wedding anniversary. When ordering a second drink, we waited 30 minutes for a cocktail that we couldn’t wait to have while staff were cleaning glasses. First world grumble I know — it was just disappointing.

A family member was ill with food poisoning after eating there. They ate some seafood. I spoke to the food & beverage manager who feigned sympathy but didn’t accept any responsibility for the alleged food poisoning as he put it. Won’t go there again.

I recently spent three nights here and it was wonderful, I returned home rested and relaxed. The food is second to none, rooms are luxurious and well cared for by friendly housekeeping staff. The concierge staff are extremely helpful, the room service was always delicious. I can't speak more highly of this hotel and I very much look forward to returning in the very near future.

We attended a birthday party hosted by a friend at the Hyatt hotel Canberra. Room was of decent size, Service was great. Food was good but a bit salty. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended Hyatt for hosting any events.

Beware this hotel is haunted (no joke), we experienced knocking inside our room, the shower turning on through the night, light switches going on and off and heavy smells of perfume. I also read that others had also experienced the same events. The hotel itself is not bad and the food was pretty good but I wouldn't return here.

This hotel boasts lovely decor, but it is aging in areas which needs a face lift like bathrooms. During colder months, it can be hard pressed to have to walk outside to the club house where the gym, pool and sauna reside. Some cleaning in the club house shower facilities couldn't go amiss either. Overall great stay though.

We spent 3 lovely days celebrating our 49th anniversary in a fantastic hotel. Our reception here, in 1969 was also great. The staff, so friendly, must be the best on this planet. Well done Hyatt. We'll be back.

A beautiful hotel and immaculately maintained. The service is second to none — from check in, room service, buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, concierge and check out — all our interactions with the staff were excellent. Like nothing I’ve yet to experience at another 5 star hotel.

Lovely clean spacious room. Well appointed with quality bathroom accessories. The room has digital controlled climate control, many power points, fridge, stocked refreshments, table for working and comfortable bed. The hot water in the shower was at a great pressure. Overall a spacious room. The service from all staff was first class and attentive. We utilised the speakers bar were service was quality and a roaring matched this off perfectly. Will definitely stay again.

Went for high tea. Service was pleasant and professional. The food was very nice with a good range of savoury offerings. The desserts were excellent, but some were very sweet. The buffet style worked well, however it does encourage over eating and food wastage which is always on the back of my mind when attending all you can eat places and seeing many overweight people in the room who are consuming more than they should.

A bit of a rabbit warren but a classy one at that. The buffet breakfast is amazing and every catered event has been delicious. I have never stayed here but I have heard it is very comfortable and clean. It is a Canberra landmark and has been well maintained over the years. As I understand, but you should check, they have halal food available as they frequently host foreign dignitaries who stay in Canberra. Parking is free but hard to get sometimes when there are major or several events on. However you can always find parking on the street as well.

Very nice hotel in Canberra. The room and the bathroom were quite large and nice. The breakfast was good with ample selection. The staff friendly and helpful. The hotel gym and pool with adjacent sauna were ideal to get some exercise in the early morning. The gym has even a heavy bag and boxing gloves. Recommended.

Beautiful hotel in a peaceful and central location to all sites. Room was clean as expected with a massive bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Unfortunately we had no time to eat there as there were so many cafe and restaurant choices in Canberra. Would stay again.

My personal opinion is that I was very dissapointed! Instead of calling to say I had left my property at the hotel, the hotel was happy to just keep the property in their lost property area. Their reason for not calling was that they are a large hotel and lots of people accidentally leave their property at the hotel. Sorry but that's not a valid reasons. I feel like what they are saying is sorry we are too busy making money to notify people that they have accidentally left their property behind. In my mind its like having a car accident and saying I didn't stop because lots of people have accidents.

I really wanted to give 4-5 star. Food = 4.5 Stars Service = 0.0 Stars Venue = 4.0 Stars Booked ahead for my partners birthday. Never having eaten here, we had heard many fantastic things and were very much looking forward to the dinner. There were no staff at reception, took 15 minutes to find the restaurant which turned out to be just down the corridor. But as there were no signs and no staff to direct us, we nearly missed our 7pm booking after arriving nearly 20 minutes early. When we got to the restaurant, staff were having an argument with a patron about seating arrangements. Apparently they were very displeased with where they had been seated. Once we got to the front of the queue, we were lead to our table which was in the exact direction of all the commotion and screaming. Trying to keep my spirits up, as it was my partners birthday and we VERY rarely spent $50 on dinner, let alone the $300 we spent this night, I tried to stay happy and suggested we went and got some food. The first thing that happened when I picked up my dinner plate, was get mash potato all over my hands as the plate had not been cleaned properly with food still all over the bottom of it. With no staff in sight to advise what to do, all I could do was put the potato covered plate onto a nearby empty table and go clean myself up in the wash room. The night improved from here, but the service I had received up to this point was actually non existent.

A beautiful Hotel set in a great location. The entrance is grand with a lovely layout. The room I stayed was simple and nice with all the 5 star necessities included. Buffett Breakfast was what you would expect from a 5 star Hotel nothing less. The parking costs an extra $25.00 which is a bummer you can park at the front of the Hotel however it is metered during peak hours. This Hotel is on the high end that's what you would expect from a 5 start Hotel.

While there is no doubt that she is a grand old lady there is some question as to her level of luxury. She needs investment of both money and employee's to get her back on t he top shelf. I love this spot and I am a regular here for tea, however, I would dearly love to see some money spent on a revamp … soon.

A beautiful, classy hotel. The buffet was divine, especially the seafood. The morning and afternoon teas looked delicious too. The buffet dessert bar had a large variety of bite sized desserts, so you could try a few.

Update Feb-2018: moved from 5 stars to 4. The hotel all but shuts down for an event and hotel guests become second class. There was Qatar Air event and the hotel service disappeared. It would have been nice to be notified of the event in advance but none of the staff provided that accommodation. There was no parking available and movement through the hotel was restricted. *** Beautiful, elegant hotel with large rooms that are quiet and well appointed. My bathroom was twice a large as the one in my room at the Sydney Marriott. Staff is helpful and professional. Ample onsite parking is available. I will continue to stay here on my visits to Canberra.

High tea is always tasty, and decor is beautiful and classic. The high tea is however on the expensive side and while the savouries are delicious, the sweets are a little less exciting. They all taste nice but pretty similar. Nonetheless, a great venue for a special event. Have also attended professional events and functions here and all have been excellent.

A very elegant 5 star hotel, fascinating architecture, a Def visit even if not staying there. Staff is super helpful and always glad to help out. Very close to everything also, a really nice place overall. Has easy valet parking overnight at 35 dollars. Very kid friendly also. Will definately recommend if asked where to stay in Canberra.

Visited for Christmas buffet lunch, it was fantastic. It was our first family Christmas that we didn't cook for, so we were worried that it wouldn't be the same. The food was amazing, and still very much our Christmas. We would consider doing this again.

Superb carvery / seafood buffet Christmas Day luncheon in the ballroom. The staff were really attentive, the food options and quality were spectacular and the setting was great. Lots of large tables but small ones for two as well and plenty of space to give people privacy for their party — not crammed in right. Included sparkling was lovely and the white and red more than acceptable. Effectively three buffet options — seafood hot and cold, the carvery and buffet dessert with cheeses. Even a separate area with special vegetarian options. Had two full coffee carts and an ice cream / gelato cart. All in all a very relaxed and exceptionally pleasant experience in the wonderfully historic Hyatt Hotel. Would definitely do this again!

Wonderful staff very affordable to chat and good service throughout the premises. Spectacular location and sorroundings. Just a little thing to complaint: The maid was upset to do her duties and we're shocking to discover that attitude. Very unpleasent… Apart from this 'incidental' we believe there are reasons to come back because all the other staff ARE GREAT.

We visited the Hyatt Hotel for the seafood buffet during the evening. The staff were very polite and it was a very high class place. I must say the staff were trained very well and everything was maintained at a very high level. The food was great and really fresh especially the seafood! The deserts were also really good however I must say that with their considerable charge, we were disappointed that there were only a limited amount of food. However this trade off was justified since the range of foods offered were very well maintained and tasted great.

Beautiful afternoon spent at the Hyatt Canberra. High tea was well catered and a great option for something special and a little out of the ordinary. Staff were friendly and attentive and the setting is hard to beat on a warm afternoon.

Hyatt hotel has the best customer service out of any hotel in Canberra that I have stayed at (I have stayed in almost all major hotels) They have complimentary porter's to take your luggage to your room, the room standard is very high and very clean. The only let down is no undercover parking but you can't have everything I guess. Well done guys I will choose to stay here again.

My partner and I married at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra recently. From early discussions through to post-wedding high tea, the Hyatt staff were most helpful, accommodating, adaptive and an all round pleasure to deal with. We stayed in one of the diplomatic suites and it too was perfect in every way — elegant, refined, spacious, and luxurious. High tea here is a Canberra institution and a must-do. A little something special for everyone. History buffs will love the story of the hotel, while its location in the Parliamentary Triangle make it an ideal launching pad for any visitors not wanting to be too far from Canberra's national landmarks.

Large bathrooms and rooms. Comfortable beds. Service on arrival was great. The hotel does shows its age. That room / bathrooms do have a smell (musty) that is inline with older hotels. Room service food was great, but they did mix up the order (ordered a bottle of wine, received a glass). Will see what else is available in Canberra before booking the Hyatt again.

Great place to stay. Staff are a standout. All staff from front desk to housekeeping to restaurant were friendly and efficient. Will be coming back again.

Nice hotel, Great facilities, the pool and gym are sizeable and well equipped, beds are very comfy so a good choice for work trips. Rooms are a bit tired and could do with a freshen up but the bathrooms very grand with full range of lovely toiletries etc. Service was excellent. Locations a bit out of the way but everything's just only a 25 minute walk away. The restaurants/room service is very expensive but all in all I'll stay there for work just for the fitness centre.

My wife and I love this place its such a lovely place to spend a long weekend. Staff are lovely food is fantastic, we always have the high tea yum. Then we can walk it off around the lake highly recommend this place we can't get enough of it.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a lovely glass of red (local, of course) while listening to the piano. What a lovely way to spend some time on Sunday afternoon.

Stunning facilities and impeccable service every time. Located conveniently close to the lake, Nara peace park and of course the parliamentary triangle. The absolute best breakfast buffet you can imagine and beautifully furnished rooms. This is a heritage art deco hotel worthy of conservation.

The staff were so friendly. Our room was large with a balcony looking over the park right next to Lake Burley Griffin. The bathroom was huge and beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the room warm (we were there in June). Room service was quick as was the valet parking. Try the Devonshire Tea as the scones were amazing. The whole hotel with its art-deco style was beautiful & I loved you could enter & leave from both the front & the back of the buiding. The location to get around Canberra was excellent. Oh and lastly the buffet breakfast had everything you could wish for from wheat grass shots to fresh fruit to French pastries to eggs benadict to cheese & cold meats to good old fashioned bacon & eggs.

The culinary director was very helpful … Prompt and went out of the way to help us with our stay… The chef went out of the way to get some veg options for our family… Very rare when the head chef comes over and helps you with veg options! :-) really appreciate the service! Highly recommend it.

Service for such a high end hotel was not good. Staff interrupted our conversation poorly and seemed hesitant and inexperienced. Not what I would expect from the Hyatt. Lovely building.

The atmosphere was great. It was easy to hear the people talking at my table. The drinks did take a to little long, with hot drinks served before the cold drinks.

The bar was a bit expensive, but a very good atmosphere.

Very nice rooms, and services, close to the city about a 10 min walk to the cbd. Lots of tourist attractions.

I am a world traveller who has stayed in many hotels and have always been pleased when it is the Hyatt that is hosting one of the events I am part of. The staff have been professional, polite and non-biased. I hope that they will continue to remain so.
