Big Cave Camp

Fantastic quiet retreat! We stayed her for a family reunion. Loved the beautiful rooms and the views of the bush, hills and the most spectacular sunsets.
Food was great, staff took great care with allergies in our group.
Exceptional service all around, but a special shout-out to our guide, Sandile. His expertise on traditional plant medicine and ceremonies made our game drive so much more than just a tour. It was deeply enriching.
Nature lovers will adore the lizards, monkeys that you share the camp with, and the surroundings—just remember to bring bug spray! Loved the bird chorus throughout the day but especially early in the morning. A perfect, peaceful getaway.

Great lodge atop a granite ruware. Rooms secluded. Private views over the park.

We had a lovely nights stay (wish it was longer! ). The rooms are just beautiful, the setting is amazing and the service was great.

Such a beautiful setting, staff were very very good. An absolute must to stay and visit Matopos. We reallty enjoyed it. Rooms were very comfortable and had everything that was needed. Food was okay, could do with a little improvement, but would not stop me returning. We did get a special rate on our stay so value was very good.

My friend, who was visiting from England, and I, decided to spoil ourselves for our birthdays. The camp is beautiful! The room was comfortable with a view of the rocks that is second to none. The meals were delicious and we had a tour of the property followed by sundowners on the rocks. It was the best birthday gift ever!

Besides the fact that we were all “rocked” by these magnificent views, our chalets were absolutely perfect.
Everything we needed was available. It is an hour’s drive from Bulawayo and worth at least a 2 night stay. Beds and linen super comfortable. Meals have been really great and the staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful.

Amazing place in the rocks. Luxury and safari. Wonderful food and service. Dinner felt like being a guest at a friend's. Very interesting fellow diners. (Lovely birthday cake).

What a wonderful time. We stayed on the campingsite, enjoyed during the day the natural stone swimming pool, in the evening the nice dinner with very friendly stuff. I reccomend the mountain bike tour of two to three hours to the granit stones. The time at your lodge was the highlight of out 3weeks trip. Thank you so much.

Big Cave has been a super camping experience.
The facilities — bathroom, firewood, Wi-Fi — are first class.
The staff are super freindly and helpful.
It is a much better option to camp here and visit the Matobo Park as a day tripper.

What a wonderful place to stay in the Matopas area. Beautiful lodge built nestled into the rocks. Kind and helpful staff. We will definitely be back there when in the area again. Thx Warren and all your staff for making our so memorable.

Omg. What an absolutely amazing place to stay. You are sitting right on top of the granite rocks. So serene. Saw so many animals, wilder beast, zebra, impala, Eagles, mongoose, rock rabbits, birds, and last but not least, white rhinos. I was able to get so close. The rock formations were amazing. Your imagination could just run wild.
Sandili, my beautiful guide, was so knowledgeable with both plants and animals. Knew medicinal properties, scientific and common names. Wealth of information. The camp staff were so friendly. The managers, Marshall and Ashley, were gorgeous, and nothing was a hassle. Thank you so much.
Only spent 2 days there but was thoroughly enjoyable. Next time, I will definitely be staying longer.

Such a beautiful setting with wonderful views in every direction. They have made the most of the nature all around, even the swimming pool is from a dip in the rock.
The food is delicious. All the staff were fabulous.
The guides were so good and interesting with a special shout out to Sandile and Mthabhisi. They were so flexible and took us on walks and to a traditional village, Khami ruins, saw rhinos and watched the sunsetting on lightning rock.

It was a wonderful location. Great service from staff and quite picturesque. Went on a night drive, didn't see much wildlife but enjoyed the drive and night breeze. No menu options though, only ate what you were given.

Its is extremely peaceful&relaxing… the rooms are well manned and have the most amazing views. The scenary is breathtaking&worth every penny. The rooms have no network or Wi-Fi access which is perfect for a get away from the hustle of town…

Fabulous restful retreat in the middle of the Matopos. So peaceful. No noise but nature. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The chef made us an African meal on request. Everyone was introduced by name and was friendly.

We had a really special time at Big Cave Camp. The location and scenery are amazing and the food and hospitality was first class. The Rhino tracking is a must and the visit to World View was very informative. Our guide Sandile was very knowledgeable, helpful and great fun.

I can't imagine a better situated camp in Africa — up in the rocks, looking out over a peaceful green valley. The cabins are spotless and feel very up to date; the location is great for exploring the national park; it's extremely good value and the team are top notch. The food is solid and good rather than amazing — but it's all you need. We all loved this place.
