Pine Tree Inn

It's nice to visit there and have hot chocolate and go exploring the vast rocks. We didn't visit the nursery this time.

Wonderful Place along Rusape — Inyanga Highway. The infrastructure is timeless, definitely a place to stay if you are considering going to visit tourist destinations around the area (Mutarazi, Nyanga National Park). Big shout out to Anna with superb customer service.

An Inn in the woods quiet, secluded, fresh and comfortable.

Lovely place, beautiful nature. The staff is great and the service is wonderful. We were here in winter so without heating it was quite cold… and the water in the morning wasn't hot. Other than that, great place.

We had a very nice stay at Pine Tree Inn. We felt we got value for our money. The hotel is located in a scenic spot among the trees looking up at Susurumba mountain, which, at over 2000m above sea level, is quite dramatic. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The bed was really comfortable and warm on a cold winter’s night. Although somewhat dated, the room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed, including hot water. The full English breakfast was tasty and filling. Unfortunately, there were some power challenges. ZESA supply was unreliable and the solar and generator backup couldn’t quite keep up. Nonetheless, despite its age, the hotel still retains a good bit of the charm for which it was renowned in years gone by.

We climbed Susarumba from here and stopped for tea after. Had a whole pot of tea and delicious cake! Pine Tree needs public support. Well worth dropping by!

The Management team needs to seriously invest in improving the amenities. Great location but it could do with a facelift.

This facility is right by the mountain and that unique mountainous micro climate adds to my likeness of it. The staff are very supportive, especially the chef! I spent 3 nights here and during my stay, wall power went off. I was told that when the facility is powered by battery, then the wall sockets are not powered. Strange! The rooms can make do with some renovations! My bathroom has a wooden hanger by the bathtub. Please remove that thing! It’s a safety hazard! I knocked my head on it once while showering before being persistently cognizant of it. That wooden thing also takes space away from bathtub use.
Mosquitoes are minimal or absent; nights can be very cold, and all of that adds to the uniqueness of the facility. With a little room renovations, it will be a top love!

We had a wedding on 25 august 2024 for my daughter. The reception we received fron day 1 until we checked out and left was so amaizing. I could not get most of staff members' names. But I will mention a few I got.

I had a good time at Pine Tree Inn. Very friendly and helpful staff. A big thank you to the receptionist and the kitchen staff. Clean rooms and a serene atmosphere. I would surely recommend Pine Inn to other people. Keep up the good service and hope to visit soon.

Just to get straight to my review n not waste much of your time reading l wont be specifying my details thats why l am using my friends phone for this review. L was received by a the girl at the reception cant forget her name is anna we spoke about my check and l was tired and hungry l am not going in specifics the girl was just genuinely rude emagine asking something just related to my travel and she said (iroro harisisiri basa rangu) l was baffled but though l proceeded to make an order she didn't want to take the order from my view she was doing nothing she called a young boy who was in the bar l spoke to the boy sitting down not to be bias the boy l don't recall the name but about 6 feet tall. He explained the menu as someone who was already annoyed 😠 by the reception l was just answering randomly the boy calmed me down started explaining the menu my mood lighten like the was magic in words 🥞moving on to the food it was exceptional considering the service l got at the reception the chef did the food justice.

In summary of my story l dont know the qualifications and what kind of procedure you take to train them but the reception was very bad for a big name like pine tree. If l was the CEO l would take the service l had from the waiter and place it on the reception 😞even the chef not knowing the character thank you.

There isn't much to say but l tell the kitchen is disgusting, it need maintenance if you see the kitchen after eating you will vomit. Its a big institution wich means we also expect staff to wear labelled uniform rather than being amateurs wich require staff to wear basic t shirts and white emagine they charge as low as 90 USD per night as compared to other inn and hospitality institution wich actually charge 40 and even low and you find their kitchen more attractive and also their staff well dressed in lebelled uniforms … l just dont get how would you allow such management… l also happened to be sitting on the door while in their restaurant l heard the chef arguing with the other chef about baked beans not ready the chef said l am the chef a minute later l got cold beans for my breakfast… please put well qualified chefs … l hope this finds u well ❤️‍🩹

We decided to try the Pine Tree again after several years gap. It was previously part of the Inns of Zimbabwe group and was wonderful but sadly no longer. I'd thought we would have been expected as I think we were the only booking that night but the receptionist seemed surprised by our arrival and needed to see my emails to them. When showing us the room she failed to open the door of the first one so went on to another. Hot water was always a problem in past years but came eventually. With solar now installed I would expect a good supply but the best it got was lukewarm after a long wait. The room was extremely tired and the toilet ran the whole time. Breakfast was minimal with cold options being corn flakes, bran flakes, juice and warm milk. Only white bread available. Cooked food was fine for breakfast but we only had soup for dinner which was good. The area is desperately in need of a good small lodge but this is not it, such a pity as the setting is spectacular.

Pine Tree Inn is a charming little place with exceptional views, cozy rooms and is run by friendly and attentive staff. The food was average and definitely overpriced, but during a one-night stay you don't mind so much. Beds were comfortable, hot water was available even when electricity was not and I would love to return in the future. Only room for improvement was the food and the prices of the food.

Pine Tree Inn is set in a stunning locale, has picturesque views and incredibly cozy rooms, all for an affordable price. Staff worked hard to ensure our comfort, despite the challenge they were having with a lack of electricity in the area at the time of our stay. Meals were decent with room for improvement. It was a very peaceful stay and would definitely return in the future.

A wonderful welcome to this delightful Inn in a beautiful and very convenient location close to Nyanga. The rooms are comfortable… yes a little 'rustic', but they are clean, cosy and have been recently renovated and the beds are very comfortable. It was lovely to have a fire lit in the room. I cannot fault the welcome of the manager and the staff. An excellent dinner was provided and a very good breakfast. The place is full of character and very peaceful. Earlier negative reviews are no longer valid… much effort has been made to update the place and resolve issues from previous years. Highly recommended. The Pine Tree Inn deserves your custom! Thank you to the staff for a wonderful visit!
