Beds are wide for dorms & mattresses are comfy, good dorm room size (6), substantial breakfast, excellent location on the main road, on site restaurant, wide ground floor area with good music, friendly staff speaking an excellent English, plenty of appealing daily tours on offer. I had an extended stay at the Gecko Hostel during November and I have to say that during that stay the management and staff were some of the kindest, helpful, and informative people I have found after traveling almost all over Vietnam. At no time was it a problem to help me, show me or take me somewhere. The vast array of western food makes it an easy stay and obviously the local food is on the menu too. Happy Hr seems to be all day most days and when it's not there is a free BBQ on with free beer. Get your laundry done and hire a motorcycle to get you to the local highlights. The rooms lean toward hotel rooms with huge beds, aircon etc, there are family rooms, dorms for males or females and if all traveling together a mixed dorm all with a nice touch, The pool table out the bank could use another couple of good cues, the fire is on if it's a bit cold but the you go inside to the Cycles bar, great music and good cocktail prices,
