I had a great stay. The vibe is really chill and the staff are very friendly and happy to chat and tell you about life in Vietnam. I learned that Vietnamese girls only like green mangoes (not yellow/ripe). I only stayed 1 night, but I think 2 would have been ideal. The bungalows/rooms are really simple and basic, so you have to be ready for that. I was in bungalow 1, which was right by the main hangout/restaurant. It was overlooking the water and had 2 beds, 2 fans and 2 hammocks (which were great! ). It was open to the air, so the bed was under a mosquito net. The bathroom had toilet paper, which isn't a given in places like this. The shower is basic, but there is hot water. There wasn't a door on my bungalow, but it's so close to the center of things that I didn't feel unsafe (and there is a safe for locking up valuables). I did the sunset river tour which I really enjoyed and felt like it was the right length. I also did the morning floating market tour. For the floating market, you can see that there are now as many/more tourists as there are market boats, but you get a good sense of it. We also got out and walked around the town market (on land). Our guide was cheerful and helpful and we tried a few fruits and other foods. The food in the restaurant at the shack is good, too. I didn't do the bike tour, but took a bike and went for a little ride around the area which is fun. This is a kind of rural area, but near Can Tho.

Great place to base to see the Cai Rang floating market or take cooking class. Scenic spot at the junction of two sreams. Nice rustic rooms. The staff are freindly, funny, and charming. Highly recommended!

Awesome place with very friendly staff. Answered all our questions and offered floating market and bike tours of the city which were very nice. Food is also excellent (the mango salad is amazing). Highly recommend!

We had a really great stay here and I can only recommend it. The staff is really great and friendly, the food (and breakfast) is terrific. The setting is great, to sleep in a hut next to a jungle river is a cool experience. Also I can really recommend the tours they give. We did the food tour, floating market tour and bike tour, which where all fun and interesting. If you stay here you can get a good feel of the Mekong Delta (not just the city). Also the price is well worth it and reasonable I would say. The only downside I could think of is the distance to Can Tho (about 10km) although by taxi you can still easily go there.

We arrived by canoe in our lodging, great! The team is pleasant, accessible and smiling. The rooms are cute.
What I liked most is their willingness to share their lives and their city with the world. Make the proposed apologies, it changes what is done for tourists!

Good relaxing place. Food for dinner and lunch was not too tasty and s bit expensive. The boat trip was a bit short given it costs 10$. There were not many boats on the floating market the day we went there. The staff is very friendly. The shower is clean, separated from the toilets and it has warm water. Toilets are clean and there is always toilet paper. Patio with fish eating your skin is excellent. Breakfast soup was quite OK.

We stayed 4 nights there. We really liked the top. The excursions that are offered should be done. However, 2 nights are also enough. The staff are really nice… Especially Anh and Nguyen. The two speak super English… and that's just their capital. We had a 3 bed bungalow right next to the restaurant. You should definitely try the hot pot there. And then afterwards a delicious snake wine…

À corner of paradise on the edge of Can Tho in the mekong delta. A very peacefull and quiet atmosphere great to meet fellow travelers from around the world. The food served are very good. The staff are simply delightfull and make the atmosphere perfect. I highly recommend that destination for a truly unique experience.

In the midst of nature and on the riverside!

Charming guesthouse, staff with little care. On the other hand a terrible night in Room 7 of the guest, on the farm side. Room above the toilet with a very persistent smell of sewer and no sound insulation (just above the common area). I recommend the place but especially not this room.

I loved my stay there very much. It’s very quiet but lots of cheap activities to do from the shack. The shack also serves great food and everyone who’s working there is really adorable (incl. Dogs)! Would stay again!

Simply wonderful. We arrived with a plan to stay one night and ended up staying for four after falling in love with the welcoming, relaxed vibe of Nguyen Shack. The whole team is incredibly friendly, instantly making you feel at home. The rooms and beds are super comfy, but you won't stay in them long as the open air communal spaces are all far too inviting. A must stay while in Can Tho.

Nice place to stay! Very friendly staff and great excursions to the floating market. Near natural bungalows with great view directly above the river. Food was good! Can definitely recommend the hot pot!

Amazing and rrlaxing place, cool stuff, good food, the best vibe and can wish for in the mekong delta with a river view and chilex atmosphere. Most reccomended!

Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and guests. Good tours of local area and floating markets. Very reasonable food and drink prices. A 2 day stay is perfect. Lack of A/C and large number of midges might make it tough after that for those travelling with young kids.

Nice place. Very helpfull and good English speaking staff! The tour to the floating market and the bicycle tour was superb also because of the enthousiastic guide. Huts are quite basic but have beautiful views (see picture).

VEGETARIANS COME HERE! Wow! Can't recommend this place enough! We were originally booked in to another place up the road and found it closed. The guys here were so welcoming and helpful and managed to squeeze us in. The location is stunning with a little bridge over the river to the accommodation and even a very cool fish foot spa made from an old boat. We found the food absolutely fantastic and they have so many options for vegetarians. The biggest plus point for this place is the staff who made our two night stay the highlight of our holiday. They run tours directly from the hotel which are pretty cheap and really good fun! Free bikes, free water, amazing cottages over the Meekong river and staff that will make anyone fall in love with this place!

A tranquil and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We went on the bicycle and floating market tours and they were an authentic experience. A wonderful base to explore Can Tho and the Mekong Delta.

What an experience! Deep in the Mekong Delta, in natural huts surrounded by gardens and the water. Not only that but with great staff to ensure you make the most out of your stay. The morning Mekong Delta market tour was good, eating noodles and jumping aboard pineapple seller boats. However if you can only do one tour we highly recommend the Village Cycle Tour — Peter acted as our guide and did such a fabulous job we ended up having one of the best afternoons of our 3 months travelling. We learnt about local culture, met the locals (including a herbal medicine doctor who wanted to learn how to take selfies with our camera) and had fun along the way. Memorable place.

The proper way to enjoy Mekong. A vibrant place, with great local food, friendly and helpful staff. The tours are highly recommended.

Great staff and food, it's location by the rivers is so cozy. We participated in their tours and they were great a real insight in the Vietnamese culture.

Excelent homestay in Mekong Delta. Very cozy and quiet cottages with unique flair. We did most of the tours they offer, they were all a great experience. Very good food and perfect staff.

Loved the bamboo "shacks" (cottages) across the river via suspension foot bridge, the fabulous staff, the wonderful food, the cooking class, the amazing market tours (floating and land), the local tour (large pottery making, rice packing, rice wine maker, blacksmith, traditional/alternative doc, buddhist temple/orphanage, local school to allow kids to use basic English skills, etcetera). Wear shoes with good traction when possible, as some areas of pathways can be somewhat slick.

The Nguyen Shack might have been a very nice place once, but now it needs maintenance urgently! The beds are over due. The walls are falling apart due to the wood worms. You can hear them eating the walls at night. The doors of the toilets and rooms do not close properly anymore and need fixing. But there are also good things to say about the Shack: the staff gives you the best service you can get and it is always with a smile. They have very good little trips to the market and even cooking class.

Peaceful place, directly in contact with nature. Essential but very comfortable. Beautiful tours on the Mekong River. The service is very nice and friendly. I strongly recommend this homestay!

If you want something special times is definitely right. Would stay longer than 2 nights and you should join the excursions. Must be ;) but tough.

Charming place, great staff, delicious food.

This is why I love the south of Vietnam… it a peaceful, incredibly friendly and the food is amazing! We spent 3 nights at the Nguyen Shack and it was perfect. The tours they offer are very affordable for anyone and thebstaff is incredible! We were able to visit the temple where they support 6 orphaned kids go to school and it was an experience not to be missed. We were also invited to have lunch at the temple, which doesn't happen often if you aren't a local and only happens twice a month for special occassions. The Nguyen Shack has a vegetable garden where all the produce grown is donated to the temple. Staying here means you are supporting the community not like staying in a hotel who just wants to make money. Highly recommended!

The place to isolate themselves for a few days. It is perfect. Just nature and the rhythm of a simple life. The guys who run it are always ready to satisfy every request. Organize tours in the vicinity is by bike or by boat to the floating Market. It's the place to chat with other travelers is simple.
