We backpacked through Vietnam for 40 days and Amica House was one of the highlights. Incredibly beautiful location with sweeping views (some tours would stop outside the window just to take a picture, it's that beautiful).
The family dinners are nice too, very tasty and lots of variety. We befriended several other travelers who we met up with in future cities.
They have a helpful website and the family speaks great English, very friendly and eager to assist in planning if desired. They also lead a trek through the rice fields that was quite nice.
This is one of the best places we've stayed in Vietnam so far! The family is super warm and friendly and they really contributed to our lovely time here. Enjoy the trekking tour hosted by the oldest son Mingh or participate in the cooking class.
It's a very quiet and relaxing place and we would love to come back!

Amica house sits in a beautiful location, with sweeping views of the valley and rice fields. The rooms were well equipped and the balcony’s perfect for watching sunset/sunrise.
The family dinners were so delicious! Myself and 2 friends were travelling together and they accommodated vegetarian options for us each night. This was also a great place to meet other travellers, exchange advice and play games after dinner.
The reason I gave 3 stars was unfortunately because of the son. On multiple occasions he was very rude to guests, and made me feel quite uncomfortable. One day there was a huge storm, and water had come into our rooms. To stop the flow we grabbed our towels as it was coming in quite fast. I notified the son, who was on reception, and he shouted at me for using the towels and proceeded to say ‘what do you want me to do’ when I asked if he could help us in stopping the water. On other occasions we were quite literally silenced at dinner so he could explain what the meals on our table were, telling us off for picking up our chopsticks to begin eating before he had done so. On our last night he waited for us to fall quiet and said ‘so are you done talking or do want to make yourself late for your bus’.
I would have liked to be hosted by the mother more as she was extremely sweet and helpful, but unfortunately since the son was at the front of the service it made me feel quite uneasy.
