We had a lovely peaceful stay at Lan’s home stay. We can recommend it to everybody. Viet and the staff makes you feel welcome :-) we loved it here ❤️
We had a really nice time at Lan Homestay. We stayed for three nights. It’s the perfect place to stay if you are seeking serenity and quiet — the Homestay is quite far from everything else; you’ll need to take a boat or ferry to the Viet Hai park of Cat Ba if you want to go in and out of the main city of Cat Ba. The transportation from Hanoi was seamless, with many modes of transport to get to this remote village (bus > ferry > bus > boat > cart! ) but Viet did a phenomal job arranging this all for us! We did not run into any problem whatsoever. Viet went above and beyond to make it easy for us to get out there. Oh, and he’s a great host, full of interesting perspectives to have an engaging conversation! His English is better than mine, practically! Ha ha That being said, If you’re seeking a proper tour or exciting activities in the area, the location of the home stay might be more of a nucance. In this case, would recommend staying in Cat Ba city. It took a lot of effort to get around and you’re mostly entirely dependent on Jerry or Viet to help you get here and there. Though, they were extremely helpful and accommodating! But they have a lot going on and are very busy — sometimes a bit hard to get ahold of! If you want to leave the Homestay, you’ll need to wait for the private cart to come and get you. The facilities of the Homestay are amazing. Rooms are clean, bathrooms in good condition. Overlooks some seriously amazing scenary.

It was truly an experience to stay at Lan homestay! It was beautiful and serene. They were fantastic hosts. We had a great stay and we would return.
