I’ve visited Vietnam more than 30 times for business and travel, but I had the worst experience ever at Ruby Hotel in Ha Giang.
I arrived a little after 2 PM to check in, but the hotel was locked. After waiting for a while, an elderly lady from the neighboring house came over, made a phone call somewhere, and then the hotel door was opened. She told me the room number and asked me to go upstairs.
I rested in the room, and when I went outside around 6 PM, the owner finally appeared.
I had booked the room through Booking. Com for 370, 000 VND for two nights, but the owner suddenly demanded 500, 000 VND, saying it was 250, 000 VND per day. Even after I showed my reservation details, it didn’t matter. He just gestured for me to leave, so I packed my luggage and left.
I never want to experience a place like this again.

Despite being there during a flood I was so glad I stayed at her place. I had a 4 bed dorm with a bathroom all to myself for 1 bed price and she even let me wash up and rest when I came back from the ha giang loop tour in the evening on the house.

The hotel has a convenient. Unfortunately, they do not assist guests in retrieving forgotten belongings, which was disappointing. This lack of support made the experience less comfortable.
