Super clean hostel with a friendly and helpful host. The beds have curtains which is nice for privacy and comfortable sleep. The roof terrace and the sufficient equiped kitchen are cosy places to chat and hang out. The location is really good, the main tourist attractions are within walking distance. Overall the best hostel we've been in 6 weeks in Central Asia so far. We really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the view from the terrace.
The best thing about this hostel is definitely its location. While the surrounding streets feel a bit run-down, it’s within a comfortable walking distance to most of the city’s main attractions.
As is common throughout Central Asia, the first question you often get is “Where are you from? Japan? China? ” – something I personally don’t enjoy, but it seems to be a cultural norm in this region. That said, the staff were otherwise friendly and even offered watermelon during my stay.
The AC in the room worked only partially and shuts off at certain times. Outlets by the bed worked fine, and they provided a lock for the security locker, which is reasonably spacious but might be a tight fit for backpacks larger than 40L. Guests are given a card to access the gate, and the upstairs area provides space to hang clothes or sit and chat, though the outlets up there don’t work. Indoor slippers are also provided.
Overall, despite some minor inconveniences, I’d still recommend this hostel for its value and location.
