Came back for almost a month – that says it all!
I liked this place so much the first time that I returned and stayed for almost a full month. I almost never stay in hostels, but MedioMundo is just that well run and well designed.
From the moment you walk in, the layout makes sense: clear signage, intuitive common areas, and thoughtful touches like good lighting, international power outlets downstairs (not just the local UY sockets), and comfortable beds that actually let you sleep. The bathrooms and kitchen are regularly cleaned, and the staff keep everything running smoothly.
A huge part of why I extended my stay was Pablo. He went above and beyond more than once, handling requests with real tact, good manners, and integrity. When it came to things like giving honest local advice or calmly resolving an issue, he always had a good disposition and made me feel genuinely looked after. It’s the cherry-on-top to meet someone in hospitality who combines professionalism with such kindness and respect.
Highly recommend for solo travellers, long‑term backpackers, and anyone who values a clean, calm, and intelligently designed hostel.
