A very peaceful place, the host Ann was lovely and did everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. She cooks the breakfast herself and it was all excellent. If you are booking with a booking. Com be aware they don’t have all the information on it so better to search the actual site itself, this will ensure whether you get an ensuite bedroom or the private bathroom which is just along the corridor.

We had a lovely little stay at Annes homestead, the room was really comfortable, the setting and views were really beautiful. We used the pool about an hour or two after arriving, you have to request this before so they can get it ready for you, testing, cleaning etc, once ready, it was so lovely. We stayed in for the night, and was made to feel really welcome with complimentary tea and cake which was amazing. The breakfast was one of the highlights for me, all local produce, so tasty. Would really recommend the stay.
It feels more like a retreat, which is a completely different feel than a hotel or B&B, so much more personal!

Beautiful homestay in a great location with breathtaking views. Clean rooms, spacious bathroom and very comfortable bed. Amazing hostess, nothing too much trouble and always thinking of you throughout your stay. The food was delicious and we looked forward to our breakfast every morning. We had the best week. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely beautiful peaceful stay! Anne is the perfect host. Everything has been thought of and can’t fault a thing.

Had a bit of a mix up when I booked but Anne gave us a discounted price to upgrade and also gave us a free overnight charge on our car which was really appreciated.

This was a magical little trip.
Halekulani Devon stays, I would argue has the best view in Torquay. It was like something out the wizard of oz!
Anne was the best host ever! A lovely caring woman who wanted to make sure we had the best stay possible.
She made an amazing breakfast. First, I would have protien weetabix with an orange juice.
Then came the English breakfast — 2 Mustard sausages, turkey bacon, 2 poached egg, mushrooms, hash brown, tomato & 2 slice of warm sourdough.
After breakfast we would sit at the pool and read our books for 2 hours.
I would highly recommend, and will defiantly be back.

Although I was in Torquay for my Brother's funeral, I couldn't have been more at ease.
Anne is special; she is one in a million!
A long flight from Scotland followed by a miserable wet and misty drive from Bristol ended up with Anne being so concerned over my late arrival, that she drove to Shaldon Bridge to find me and lead me to Halekulani at 10 at night.
Such a special peaceful location, it was just where I needed to unwind.
A wonderful breakfast with carefully selected local produce and the sun shining in the open doors across a tranquil countryside and the sea and coast beyond.
Anne, throughout my stay couldn't have been more considerate and helpful.
After the anxieties of a funeral, the wonderful calmness of this location was just what I needed to unwind.
How often is it that a proprietor of a boarding establishment; no, Halekulani is not that but a "home from home": is concerned about a guest's welfare after leaving?
Anne certainly was, on a foul day with a Yellow Weather warning throughout the UK,
And asked me to let her know when I got to my destination.
If you want a place to stay overnight try a chain motel; if you want sanctuary from all life's woes come to Halekulani.

From booking to saying goodbye there was good communication, help and advice. Our onsuite room was spotless, a bath & a shower plus all the goodies. The view even on a cold wet day was great. The breakfast menu was extensive, well prepared & delicious. Lovely comfortable lounge, large TV etc. A lovely few days. Highly reccomended.

An amazing place to stay… a real home from home. The house was spectacular sitting on a high ridge just outside Torquay with panoramic views of the sea and surrounding countryside.
The room was extremely well appointed with absolutely everything you could need from dressing gowns, all sorts of different toiletries, tea and coffee and snacks. Anne had thought of absolutely everything. She was a wonderful caring and attentive host.
Tea and cakes on arrival and the use of our own sea facing lounge with large comfy sofas, a log burner and TV just for us! It was simply perfect.
Anne provided us with a light supper …soup with delicious home made bread. Breakfast was freshly cooked.
There was a lovely covered swimming pool on the lawn which would have been bliss in the summer but definitely not in January! We’ll just have to come back.
It’s a very quiet, relaxing and unique place to stay. A real home from home. Remote but still an easy drive down into Torquay and the surrounding villages.

Anne was very welcoming and the house and our room were beautifully clean and very well set out. Tea and coffee in our room, lovely views and very comfortable bed. Our cooked breakfast was pre ordered and was ready for when we asked as we had to rush off early the next morning. Breakfast was lovely with amazing sea views. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

We were warmly welcomed into the beautiful house in Devon. Our host Anne was courteous and helpful and helped us settle into the house. We were shown into our rooms and invited to make ourselves comfortable in the living area, which overlooked the sea, across a gorgeous garden. I enjoyed reading some books in the quiet atmosphere of the place, while we waited for our dinner, which Anne helped us arrange.
Our room was furnished with all amenities we might have needed, and was attached to a rather luxurious bathroom with a spa bathtub. The views to the sea from every room remain my favorite. I also enjoyed looking at the beautiful sea shells decorated about the house, and viewing the paintings of the property which were displayed around.
In the morning, we enjoyed a nice breakfast that Anne prepared to our preferences, including freshly made juices!
I then enjoyed a lovely stroll in their huge, and immaculately maintained garden!
I wish we had planned our stay in advance… since the house had a heated swimming pool which would have been rather fun to have experienced in those lovely surroundings. Lastly, we were able to charge our electric car with the charging facilities at the house!
We will be visiting again soon.

Wonderful stay at Halekulani Devon. After a hectic month we escaped to Torquay looking for a peaceful retreat. And we found it. Anne, the host, welcomed us with tea and cake and from then on she gave her best to make us feel at home. Her tips for restaurants and sightseeing were great as it was the breakfast she prepared. Unforgettable experience, just what we needed.

Where to begin? After following the emailed instructions to the letter we found the property without difficulty and were warmly greeted by Anne, our host. The property is delightful, tastefully decorated, modern and sparkling. After a welcome with coffee and cake we settled into our room then followed Anne's suggestion — chosen from several, with links & information sent to my phone — for a local eatery (Cary Arms Hotel) where we enjoyed wonderful service, food and atmosphere although the steep & narrow access laneway was, as we were warned, a challenge! Breakfast the next day was served with surgical precision in immaculate surroundings and didn't disappoint. Overall a delightful experience with an amazing host!

A perfect tranquil, idyllic homestay in a wonderfully peaceful setting. Anne our host was so accommodating making a truly memorable few days away whilst we got married In Torbay, even in providing (at a very reasonable cost) shuttle service to and from the registry office. The organic full breakfast was cooked to perfection. The room and views were just perfect. Be sure to see the beautiful sunset/sunrise across the bay, absolutely stunning. We look forward to returning to this wonderful little gem. Thank you Anne for looking after us so well.

Wow! What an incredible experience at Halekulani Homestay, the host Anne went above and beyond to make our stay feel special, what a welcoming, kind, genuine lady. The room was breathtaking and had stunning views of the sea, it truly had all the necessities needed for a comfortable stay. We had breakfast included with our room, and it certainly didn’t disappoint, very tasty and you could tell good quality ingredients are used. An added benefit to this stay is the option to have treatments, I had an amazing facial by Sadie and would certainly recommend. Overall a very relaxing stay, in a beautiful location, would return without hesitation — thankyou again Anne!

From the first moment of our arrival with tea and cakes to our departure everything was wonderful. Anne is an amazing host and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The house was spotless, the room was a generous size and everything was provided to make this a first class stay. Breakfast was superb and the setting was stunning. There was nothing we could fault and would highly recommend.

This is the perfect escape for body and mind reset. I feel nourished, revived, and restored.
The house and gardens are stunning, offering expansive views of rolling fields, vast skies, and the sea. I stayed in the smallest room available, which was still spacious with ample storage, a very comfortable bed, and a great coffee machine.
The breakfasts are fantastic; I highly recommend the porridge and fruit options alongside the delicious cooked breakfast, which includes fabulous vegetarian choices or succulent sausages if you prefer.
Anne was incredibly attentive and a great joy to be around. She makes everything seem very streamlined, even though I'm sure it's quite complicated accommodating guests. Nothing is too much trouble (more eggs, please! ). I immediately felt comfortable in the house. The lounge is for guest use only, so I didn't feel like I was encroaching on their privacy—perfect for reading the paper and looking out to sea.
As a nice bonus, if you sleep with the window open, you’ll hear owls calling in the distance as you drift off, and be gently woken by sparrows chirping happily in the hedgerows. If you're lucky, you might even spot a very friendly cat who resides in the owners' private quarters.
It's not often I want to return to the same property—I usually prefer variety—but this one is an exception. I’ll be back so my husband can have the same exceptional experience.

Nice quiet place to stay. Ann is a lovely host and will want to make your stay the best. Breakfast for vegetarians is available. We enjoyed playing croquette. Rooms are nice. We had vegetarian sausages and toast and beans, hash browns with tea and lovely orange and apple juices.
