Borovik in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Hotel Borovik located, and what is nearby?

The complex is located in a picturesque setting near a forest in Novosilky, approximately a 30 to 40-minute drive from central Kyiv. Guests note that the hotel is situated in a remote village with limited infrastructure, with the nearest store located about 15 km away. Overall, the area is described as a quiet and peaceful place featuring beautiful views and fresh air.

Does the hotel have parking?

Yes, the hotel provides free secure parking for guests.

How polite is the staff, and how does the front desk operate?

Guest opinions regarding the staff are sharply divided. Some visitors praise the hospitality, particularly highlighting receptionists Viktoria, Liuba, and Yevhen for their friendliness and care. Meanwhile, others complain about rudeness, indifference from management, and a complete absence of staff at the front desk. Guests also mention instances of their remarks being ignored and a reluctance to resolve conflict situations involving refunds.

What type of cuisine is served in the restaurant, and what is the quality of the food?

Reviews regarding the cuisine are mixed: many guests describe it as "fantastic" and an "explosion of flavors," recommending the potato pancakes (deruny) with bacon and mushrooms, pizza, sea bass with pesto, and the "Borovik" salad. However, there are complaints about very long wait times for food (up to two hours), overpriced items, and a limited menu during hosted events. Some guests also noted unclean tableware and an unusual presentation of tea served in beer mugs.

What can be said about the cleanliness and amenities of the rooms at Borovik?

Reviews of the rooms are polarized. Some guests consider them modern, clean, and cozy, featuring comfortable beds and fresh linens. Others describe the rooms as outdated and untidy, complaining about dirty towels, torn bed linen, rusty shower stalls, and an unpleasant odor. Many guests note a lack of basic room amenities, such as kettles, refrigerators, hairdryers, and an adequate number of glasses.

How well do the heating and ventilation systems work in the rooms?

The heating system operates inconsistently. A number of guests who visited the complex in early April complained about severe cold in the rooms, which caused significant discomfort during their stay.

What additional services and amenities are available on the premises?

The hotel features a bath complex with a sauna, hammam, and cold plunge pool, as well as massage services. Guests highlight the barbecue area and a cozy terrace with a fireplace. However, there were complaints regarding the operation of the bathhouse during power outages, when management failed to warn guests about the lack of electricity and hot water.

Is the hotel suitable for families with children?

Opinions are divided. Some families were pleased with the service and the attentive approach to guests, even those with infants. Others strongly advise against staying here with children, pointing out the lack of playgrounds and swings, uncomfortable sleeping arrangements (such as a child having to sleep on the join between beds), and the absence of options for quick children's meals.

The food in the restaurant is really delicious. There is a wish to add more dessert options to the menu, because… today, Sunday evening, there was nothing but ice cream, although the menu indicated cheesecake and croissant with chocolate (I want to come back again.
