Savannah Suites – Entebbe.
Stayed: Friday, August 29th to Monday, September 2nd.
My stay at Savannah Suites with my father, who is in his 70s, and I (in my 30s), was overall enjoyable, with some notable highlights and a few drawbacks.
We booked two rooms, including the King’s Fisher Room, which was spacious with a great balcony and pool view. The other room was OK. Both were clean, and the Wi-Fi was stable, though not particularly fast. The hot water took a bit to warm up, and the water pressure wasn’t amazing but worked fine overall.
One of the best aspects was the intimate, personal experience. With only about four or five rooms, the hotel staff was incredibly accommodating, particularly Florence, who went above and beyond. They prepared a delicious breakfast daily, featuring fresh fruit and a choice of English breakfast or omelettes. Although we didn’t try their other meals, the service in general felt very personal and attentive.
The major downside, however, is the location. The hotel is in a developing area of Entebbe, with a lot of dirt roads and construction. While the property itself is nice, getting back late at night can be a bit stressful as taxi and Bolt drivers often struggled to find the place, sometimes driving into random streets. The security is good, with two armed guards at the entrance, which gave us peace of mind, but the location is definitely a drawback at the moment.
