Friendly staff, great room, good location good breakfast, we've had a fantastic 2 night stay for the viking festival x.

Lovely clean, warm rooms. We had one of the ground floor rooms and so easy to pop to the fridge in the lounge to fill the little milk bottle provided with fresh milk for drinks. Dog friendly a big plus for us, breakfast taken in the orangery with our pooch. Breakfast excellent both hot and buffet selection. Friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend.

We have just come back from a 2 night stay at the York Priory. We can not reccomend it enough.
The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The staff can not do enough for you.

The hotel was great very friendly staff will go back great location 2 mins from the river and 5 mins to the town centre.

My wife and I stayed here on a long weekend in York. Ideally located about 15 min walk from city centre. Lovely cosy place with real history and remains of old York in its grounds. Guest bar was good for night cap too. Well recommended but don't rely on sat-nav to get you there!

This place is fantastic. This was our first holiday in 5 years and I am so happy we chose here to stay for it. The actual hotel and rooms are clean, inviting and comfortable. The Staff are friendly, caring and take an interest in what’s happening with you and very happy to chat. I couldn’t think of anywhere else to stay in York and can see us staying again.

Just come back from a weekend at the York priory, everything was excellent, allowing to use car park before check in, all staff, reasonable priced drinks, great food, and what a place to watch the England match, we will deffinitley be back.

We stayed here in june for 2 nights in the family room was a lovely place rooms were spotless breakfast was very nice staff are so friendly loved it would definitely go back x.

We stayed at the York Priory for 3 nights in May and have to say it was one of the nicest places we've stayed in York. Large, clean, quiet, comfortable rooms with a lovely orangery and bar area to relax in. The car park is large enough to not have to squeeze your car in like a lot of places in York. Location is perfect for York centre and is only a 15 minute stroll away using the lovely scenic walk by the river. We will definitely be booking again and would recommend it to everyone wanting a friendly, relaxed, clean place to stay. Thank you to Kat and Elaine for making us feel so welcome, we have already recommended to friends and family and we hope to be back soon. Love to Bella.

Excellent. Lee and staff very Freindly and a home from home feel to the place. Wonderful choice in food and plenty of it. Bar well stocked and at a reasible priced, But what do you expect it is the centre of York after all. Certainly we would go again.

Had a really nice 2 night stay for our anniversary, has a great location just a 10 min walk down the river to the city centre. Staff are friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. Only issue was the room was very hot but luckily it was Feb so this was nice to come back to but not to sleep in. Saying that will defiently stay there again.

A brilliant dog friendly hotel with very helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble.

Stayed at this little gem of a hotel for my HMS YORK reunion for 2 nights. My single room was comfortable, warm and over looking the garden which made for a quiet stay. The extras in the room … iron and ironing board. Hair dryer and other heaters in the cupboard if at all needed. The short walk into York was pleasant and about 10 minutes max. I had full English breakfast which was filling to say the least, but there were quite a few options to pick from. The staff are so friendly and as I found always smiling delivering a great service. I certainly will use the Priory hotel in the future.

"family room" — comfy beds, good size, clean and warm. Good hot water, although pressure on top floor a little low. Welcoming, freindly and helpful staff. Easy short walk into York centre. Plenty of parking.

Had a really lovely stay here the room was great nice big bed and very well equipped with toiletries dressing gowns and tea coffee facilities etc… Was great to have sky tv! Staff were really friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend and will stay again on our next visit to York.

Very nice stay, good breakfast. Only there two days, need to spend longer to do it justice. Very convenient for the city and comfortable with parking.

I attended a work event with hog roast, and the bar staff were very hospitable to us all. As small as the venue may look, it's got a really nice rear garden with plenty of space. Food and drinks were excellent with lots of choice.

Recommended stay. Location is not very far away from any tourist spots. Very good and prompt services.

Minimal service, room ok but two single devan beds put together to make a larger one calling it a superior room, small amount of parking and about a 20 minute walk from York town centre.

Funky little place to stay. Has a great breakfast and a personal bar in the back. Would strongly recommend this place. However, if you need good internet I would find somewhere else. It barely works and requests more personal info than nessisary.

Nice place and good service throughout or stay. Breakfast is nice too. Would recommend you splash out and get a room up from classic double; whilst the classic double was okay, we would have preferred something a little nicer.

Stayed just for the night lovely helpful friendly staff. Room was perfect clean and fresh bedding and towels. Enjoyed a relaxing drink in the conservatory at the back. Ideal location lovely stroll along the river pathway into york. Would recommend it to stay we will definitely be back. Great breakfast in the morning set us up for the day!

The hotel was a mess. Their pictures online are very carefully chosen as if to promote the up to date decor of the place. When I stepped inside I felt as if I was back in Henry VIII's era. Shambles. Dirty marks all over the walls, foisty smells, heating on full blast all night, the bed was on a declined angle. Worst place I've been to AND… IT WAS £79!

The owner and staff were lovely, very friendly, made you feel at home help you with taxi's and getting to places, help you with places to see, I have stayed there a few times and would stay again, the food is lovely lots of different selections, cereal, fruit, juice tea coffee, different selection of cooked breakfast. X x.

This Hotel was a last minute booking for a short mini break during the week.
The email communications I had with Katie were friendly and helpful and made booking really easy. Upon arrival we were greeted by Katie and she is such a lovely lady, very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable of the places to visit in York.
The room we stayed in was a superior twin with a bathroom. The decor was lovely and the furniture clean and well maintained. The beds are so comfortable! The bathroom was spotless! The towels and robes where pristine and so was the bed linen. The room smelled lovely. I couldn't fault it at all.
The breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Well prepared and the service was courteous and polite. There is also a bar on the groundfloor for alcoholic beverages which is, small but very cosy.
This place is like a home from home. The grounds and garden are well maintained and plenty of seating and space for the smokers who visit. Everyone is made to feel welcome even the canine guests.
I highly recommend this hotel. I would definitely stay there again without a doubt.

Stayed at The York Priory 11 years ago. Nice and polite staff. Breakfast was good! And all the important buildings/places in York within walking distance. Hope to come back in the nearby future.

The family room is quite comfortable with one king-sized double bed and two single beds. Perfectly choice for a family weekend. However, the wireless connection is poor at 2nd floor. TV has only 4 channels.

Stayed here back in March for my birthday on a short break, not having visited York in about 20 years-it's a wonderful place, friendly staff, who upgraded the room on arrival as my Wife is disabled, so the walk-in shower in the Superior room at the front of the hotel was a delight. The room by itself would put most luxury/deluxe hotel rooms to shame! The breakfasts in the morning are superb, and really set you up for the day, so much so that we weren't really hungry until 7 that night. Located just a short walk from the town centre and the tourist attractions, I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here either as a weekend break or a longer stay. Well done and I hope to be staying again soon.

Check your details carefully because this hotel will say that you booked longer than you did and then claim the cancellation fee from the card (legally too! ). Check the fine print in the confirmation email. I arrived to find that this was not a 4 star hotel as all the websites claim but a small B&B. It was dirty, dingy and the service was appalling. The owner even greeted me in her pyjamas! They claimed I booked 2 nights despite two confirmation phonecalls and started getting abusive in front of my 2 young children. I left the hotel given their rude and obnoxious behaviour and was charged anyway even though I did not stay there! Be warned as these people are really unsavoury characters.
