Astor York Hostel is set in a Grade II listed Victorian building, just a 15-minute walk from the historic centre of York. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. The property can only accommodate guests over the age of 18. All rooms at this hostel are en-suite, with Wi-Fi access throughout the whole building. There is a spacious lounge where guests can relax, and two large dining rooms. Astor York Hostel can be accessed on foot from York railway station in 10 minutes, or by bus from the town centre.

I recommend Astor York Hostel for anyone looking for affordable rooms to rent. I am very happy by the service Louise and Patrick provided me with. My bed and room were very clean, toilets too. I also had an interview on Tuesday and they made sure I'd have a quiet place to do it at. Wi-Fi was very good too. 5/5.

Proof of identification: A valid proof of ID must be shown on arrival, including a passport, driving license, and national identity cards. The property cannot accept paper driving licenses and student or employee IDs as proof of identity.
Key Card: You will be required to give us a £5 key deposit for your room access card at check-in time.

Common Areas: The kitchen and common areas are all back open! Whooop whoop!.
Facilities: Please be aware that our building has no lift and that you may be assigned to one of our top floors and a top bunk bed.
Events: The hostel organises daily events aimed at backpackers between the ages of 18-30 years.

A valid government-issued ID must be presented at check-in.
Luggage storage is free on the day of arrival and costs £ 2 per bag on the day of departure. An extra fee of £ 7.5 per bag per day applies for the days following checkout. Storage lockers for small valuables are available for £ 2 per day. Towels are available for rent at £ 3.

The private dorms are perfect for group bookings, we stopped as a group of 19, split over different private dorms all with en-suites. The beds are bunk beds, which were actually not to bad. Room was clean. Adequate parking available too (first come first served basis). Nice outdoor patio for a beer before heading out. The property is quiet and everyone is respectful of others. Very affordable! We didn’t use it, but there is a communal kitchen area and also living/dining room.
