Woodland Lakes Lodges Hotel

This is our third visit, this time staying in a Spindle Spa (pet) it looks very new, very spacious and fills all our needs, excellent price too, will continue to visit here, it’s just what we enjoy and only a couple of miles outside of Thirsk, Sport Bar is great and aiming to visit the swimming pool in the next day or two.

Worse experience of my life! Visited the site for my partners 40th birthday — The lodge was disgusting & dirty the hot tub didn’t work and the maintenance guy told us they hadn’t been working for a while because a cut in the price of parts which weren’t adequate to run the hot tub. The furniture was damaged. The bathrooms and living area were filthy. We spent our first day allowing the maintenance guy to rebuild the sofa with wood planks because it was all snapped inside we also had the cleaners back in. Site very unhelpful they pass the book! I paid £549 for 3 nights! And they offered me a £75 refund. A total insult for what we got compared to what was advertised and what we should have had. The pictures on the web are absolutely nothing like the photos! AVOID AVOiD AVOiD!

Lovely location, quiet and relaxing, cozy warm lodge s, very clean everything u need, staff excellent, watermill restaurant and pub very good, we have stayed many times now.

Lodges are very clean and spacious with really good hot tubs the staff are very polite and friendly and helpful would definitely recommend to anyone to come and stay ere and especially for the Fisher man or women plenty of lakes to choose from.

Wow! What an amazing place. The accommodation is beautiful but the staff are something else! My partner arranged our proposal here and they were so helpful. Special thank you to Valerie for being so accommodating! We will definitely be returning here💍❤️

Had the most amazing unexpected weekend here, the staff were all so lovely, the lodge was brand new and well equipped. Positioned on the lake front in a quiet location. The kids enjoyed every minute. We will most definitely be back. Thank you to the amazing staff once again, you saved us from having 3 disappointed children. 🥰❤️

Great location, a variety of lodges all with hot tubs, with the benefit of an indoor swimming pool, two bars serving food, peaceful setting but child friendly too. Would definitely return.

This is a very nice place. The lodges on the pond with the waterfall and ducks is just the best thing to wake up to. There is a nice bar and cafe on site. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend anyone to book it. Whether it's a holiday to sightsee or to relax there is something for everyone.

Second time in Aspen lodge 27, love it here. Tons of lakes to choose from to fish in less than 5 minute walk away £10 adult & £8 children. Pet friendly site, our 2 dachshunds loved it. Aspen lodge has a fully enclosed balcony with a gate so was perfect for them. Ducks walking round & come over to the balcony so you can feed them. Small play area for young children. 2 pubs. Swimming pool and jacuzzi are lovely, water was a bit cold in the pool this time compared to last time we came. Lodge was lovely and clean, fluffy towels provided had everything we needed inc hair dryer & dishwasher. Beds very comfortable. Hot tub lovely & warm when we arrived, checked every morning and fully emptied on morning we left.

Just got back from a 3 night stay in Lodge 39 Waterside Spa. It was absolutely beautiful! The lodge was perfectly clean and warm when we arrived. It had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. Decking over looking the lake and the hot tub was private. The swimming facilities were also lovely and the on site bars. Everything was within a 2 minute walk, including the fishing lakes. Only con to me was the cleaners were hanging around an hour before we was due to leave making us feel abit rushed but apart from that our stay was faultless. We will definitely be returning!

Here now! absolutely stunning! brilliant restaurant with really high quality food, sports bar is unbelievable! lodges are stunning can not fault anything about our little family break! highly recommended.

Booked a weekend here before checking fb reviews so was super worried it wouldn’t be up to par but I need not have worried. The lodge was immaculate, hot tub was ready on arrival and cleaned every day, staff were super lovely and really helpful, the swimming pool was fabulous and the site overall was lovely. No complaints here. Will definitely come again.

We had a lovely 4 nights here. Very relaxing & quiet. Lodge was spotless & warm on arrival. We look forward to coming back!

We used the pool facilities which I recommend and cafe …my great grandson loved the play area near the cafe. He made new friends … very friendly. Defo going again …

Lovely relaxing stay, had to ask for the cleaner to come and hoover the sofas and carpets as full of dog hair, was told it’s a pet friendly lodge that’s why there’s hairs, it should still be cleaned regardless. £50 deposit to be paid when checking in which you’re not told of when booking. Told will be pending from bank account but is deducted straight away! Hot tub great. Swimming pool nipping clean. Good bar & restaurant on site. Friendly staff, would stay again.

Lovely lodge, very clean and everything we needed inside and a fabulous clean hot tub outside. The site is amazing, in a lovely woodland setting. Staff lovely and so helpful. Check in and out very quick and friendly. I cannot wait to come back.

Just had a 4 night stay with my husband, daughter and granddaughter and would recommend staying here. We used the pool and cafe which was clean and staff were friendly. We ate in the restaurant and again staff friendly and food was lovely. Lodge was very spacious and the hot tub we used every night. My only complaint would be cleanliness. There had definitely been a dog staying previous to us as dog hairs were still on carpet and floor. Large cobweb on light in dining room. There were also cigarettes still in ash tray on table outside.
This didn’t spoil our stay at all but needs to be addressed.

Recently had a 4 night break here. Location is great, close to local attractions. Scenery beautiful. Lodge was well equipped. Staff on the park are so friendly and helpful, very dog friendly. Food in Olive Tree restaurant is lovely and a trip to The Watermill restaurant is a must!

We live local to woodland lakes lodges and I’m so surprised we didn’t hear they had expanded with the new swimming pool and restaurant. We are a family of 8 and going swimming here was an absolute breeze… from the staff being helpful and attentive to the well thought out facilities.
It has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere and I believe we will no doubt become regulars.

Very quiet and peaceful location if you like fishing this is the place… a very nice bar restaurant on site called the windmill food excellent and very dog friendly staff are a credit to the place.

Spent 3 nights here for daughters 21st. Lovely cleans lodges but 6pm check in is too late as there’s no lights on site was pitch black cudnt see anything so was lost. Check in was easy they give you key and you find your own cabin never saw any other staff member till we checked out so wasn’t shown how anything works. No hoover so cudnt hoover up. Beds really low but comfy. Would still go back again thou cabins and hot tubs clean n warm x.

Great location, very high standard and relaxing location.

Spent a lovely late morning here with 4 children in the swimming pool followed by lunch in the cafe and then onto the park outside. Excellent value for money and great service, the soft play was closed awaiting repair but apart from that a lovely few hours out. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful lodges, all mod cons. Ideal for couples and families alike. Own private hot tub, soft play and restaurant as well as pub on site. Just a total chill out stay. Loved it.

Would not recommend a stay here! They are a Absolute joke! We arrived Friday 7:30pm
For a 30th birthday! We booked in for food, when we arrived there was 4 staff on reception and our table where we were seated was still dirty as was other tables but staff willingly apologised and cleaned the tables, The food was lovely in the end! Late evening (11:00pm) we sang 1 song on the balcony to which we receive abuse from across the lake who made a complaint! We were warned and then went inside to avoid confrontation! The family who complained came to our lodge and tried to get in shouting abuse to us all which we ignored! We awoke to a phone call informing us we had to leave the site immediately! Staff were not helpful, fair or understanding in the slightest! It ruined our weekend!

The lodges deliver everything promised on the website. The lodges are clean, everything works as it should, the welcome box is a lovely touch. The hot tubs are clean and ready for your arrival, generally. There is a bar and restaurant on the site. Thirsk is only a few miles down the road, with lots of nice pubs to pop into on the route.
Value for money and will definitely be staying there again. X.

Had a lovely 3 nights stay for my birthday. Was dark when we arrived good job we had a torch! Lodge was nice and clean. We had a problem with the lights but was soon sorted. Will definitely be back.

Loved our 2 night stay this week, lovely staff really welcoming on arrival and check out! When we got to our lodge it was spotless and really cosy. The welcome pack was also really helpful and much appreciated! Lovely lodge, lovely setting and the hot tub was perfect!

Just got back from a very peaceful & relaxing break here. Stayed in lodge number 85, it was clean & well presented & the hot tub was amazing! Staff are very friendly & helpful. We ate most evenings at the on site Manhattan bar/restaurant & cannot fault the service or indeed the food which was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our break & will definitely return.

Just had a lovely chilled weekend with my husband and 2 daughters aged 8&14. Lodge was clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting on the decking feeding the ducks. Pub was nice too, friendly staff. We will certainly be back!

We visited here on the 15th July and we were NOT disappointed! The lodge was beautiful and clean, the whole site was amazing! Yes it was a tad warm on evenings but I went and bought a fan, it's really not the sites fault we're in the middle of a heatwave! We WILL defo be visiting again. Thank you for such a relaxing break.

I was really looking forward to our stay here last week, despite mixed reviews but sadly I wasn’t very impressed. On arrival we found our welcome pack included a squashed, soggy loaf of bread which we asked to exchange, as well as a small basket with hard sugar and two packs of broken biscuits. Luckily we had brought our own. On checking out the hot tub we found it dirty, grime around edge and lots of silt and bugs on the bottom. We had to complain 3 times about it as it never seemed to be cleaned daily. Only once was a net used to fish out the bits. We took to buying our own net and cleaning it ourselves in the end. The hot tub was also not as private as I hoped. The lodge itself is a wood clad caravan and was smaller than I expected. The shower trays are extremely slippery and quite dangerous. With no fans or air con it was extremely hot and uncomfortable at night. A few fixtures and fittings were lose/dirty but overall quite clean. The fridge/freezer was not keeping temperature on the first day and we had to call someone out to help. They attended quickly but not a lot they could do. We had to throw some food out and put things in the freezer which was only just keeping things cool. Eventually got to temperature by day 2 which meant all our stuff was frozen. We were also disappointed by the onsite restaurant that whilst not affiliated is on site. Their advertised online menu is not what they serve so we left disappointed to find another venue.

Perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break with friends and family, highly recommend.

The cafe was amazing, the woodlands breakfast was a true gut buster and beautiful, the place is amazing we have been a few times and will be back, dog friendly and staff are always ready to help and very polite and welcoming, xxx.

I've been fishing Woodland Lakes for over 15 years and have really enjoyed every minute of it. Very highly recommended.

Great fishing no soap in toilets no toilet roll cost of fishing £1.00 more than web site.

A great place to fish with lots of lakes with good size pegs. The only down side is no ladies toilets! Men's toliets, disabled toilet with no locking door. So where are the ladies supposed to wee? The restaurant won't let fisher people use theirs the cafe have none.

Lovely lakes and Holliday homes but scruffy car parking area and cafe.

A very nice place to visit. Lots of lakes to fish and a well stocked tackle shop. There's also a lovely pub/restaurant. The other is a very nice chap who'll stop to have a chat with you. Will definitely be going again.

I have had the best fishing days hear with mate and on my own so many lakes its hard to choose owners are 100% class people takel shop on site in case to forget any think and a mean any think it is packed with stuff lovely cafe and bar all in all a great place to go.

Loved it beautiful location beautiful accommodation was only spoilt at the end as I left a carrier bag behind in the lodge with bits and pieces and wireless mouse and it wasnt found and handed in. Its close to loads of interesting places and was quiet even though building work was going on. Would recommend just dont leave anything behind.

Fished here for few days got some nice doubles in kestrel lake but the bigger they are the more battered they are broken tales cuts scales missing and its a shame because there are some lovely fish in there.

Once I'd gotten rid of the 101 spiders inside the static caravan, sorry lodge everything was fine. Hot tub was pure bliss and the surroundings were lovely. Not sure about the on site Restaurant though. It was clean enough but we chose to eat in or at new of the countless quality pubs near by.

Fantastic place. Stylish lodges, hot tub is great. Fishing is brilliant. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Chris in the cafe is lovely. Cannot wait to return. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Woodlands Lakes Thirsk is the BEST ponds I have been to 5 stars *****! GREAT STAFF TOO!

I used to live in Thirsk, and am well aware of this venue. Couple of weeks ago I took my grandson for the day, and was left with a very nasty impression. The lady collecting cash initially wanted £18 for a 13 yr old and an OAP, despite us sharing one peg, she eventually settled on £16. The place was overgrown, pegs were saturated and muddy as were the paths, the whole place was untidy and poorly maintained, which is fine for a modest price but I consider this a rip off and will never return when I can fish in Filey where I now live for £4 on a much better well maintained lake.
