If you're looking for a simple room for a night, we found this hotel was ok. The bathroom was clean, but the bedroom was very dusty & the view from our room (photo) was not great! The hotels decor itself looks tired and in need of refresh. We didn't use the pool, but did look in on the offering. It's not very big, more of a plunge pool, and again looked tired. The breakfast was the best bit of our stay, it's all buffet style with tasty food and breakfast staff friendly & efficient. We would think twice before using again.

Having stayed at The Ambassador this being our 5th visit over last few years. Our room was in good position and bed very comfortable, bathroom now a wet room it had nowhere to put toiletries other than on toilet seat or floor plastic beakers on sink had to put towel on floor after using shower as water went up to sink. We where disappointed that there was no bar after being out and about all day we use to enjoyed just chilling in the bar now no atmosphere or food served after breakfast only vending machines definitely a no no. Swimming pool and sauna brilliant, breakfast very good plenty of options. Sadly to say we will not be returning.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights, and were very pleased with our room, which had a fantastic sea view, and also with the cleanliness of the place. Beds were very comfortable, bedding was good quality, and the towels and bedding were changed every day. Breakfast was very good, and the service was first class! All in all I would recommend the Ambassador for value for money and the very friendly staff. The situation is great, Italian Gardens across the road with lovely walks. A very enjoyable stay.

Just want to thank the staff and management at this wonderful hotel, We recently had difficult personal circumstances, and the management went above and beyond to accommodate us. We stayed here 19-21st April, and we had a wonderful break, and very lucky with the weather. Large comfy bed, and amazing sea views. Possibly the best views in Scarborough! A spot light fell out of the ceiling, but the staff, were on to it straight away, and I understand the rooms are going through a phase of refurbishment, so things can only get better. The staff were so lovely and the breakfast was excellent, with choice of continental and full English, including veggie options. Last time we stayed breakfast was not provided, so it was a nice surprise to learn breakfast was also included in the price when we arrived. Thanks for having us, and we’re looking forward to staying again. Helen and Craig.

The sea view room will compensate for the missing amenities. This is a room only hotel, No fridge no bar no restaurant no swimming pool as advertised. The staff are quite friendly except for the elderly lady that worked on reception desk when we checked out on Monday. The hotel is opposite the Clock Cafe. Great place for a coffee an swell views. The hotel is walking distance to the local Sainsbury's and Costcutter. Overall a very romantic getaway ask for room 208.

Comfortable basic rooms that make a good base to explore Scarborough. A little more attention to the finishing touches would make a difference in the rooms. For the price I paid for 1 night you really couldn't complain. This hotel would benefit from providing a breakfast service.

Looking forward to our weekend away. We have stayed at this hotel previously and this time we wanted a better room the receptionist Jess couldn't do enough for me she has managed to arrange a better room for our 2 night stay this weekend. So helpful credit to the company. Danni :)

Basic room, water in bathroom only just warm, great view bin yard, reception area nicely decorated. Only saw 2 members staff they was friendly when checking in then never spoke after. Shame place lacks attention. Advertised a pool and bar but soon found out they were no longer there.

A lovely, clean, modern and well-equipped hotel which also includes a sauna, relaxation quiet room and a rooftop Zen garden patio area, which also boasts an amazing view over the South Bay of Scarborough. I've always found the staff friendly, welcoming, helpful and what's more, if you book in advance online, you can grab yourself an unbeatable price deal, subject to availability etc. Fully recommended for a hassle free stay in lovely, warm, well equipped and clean rooms. ☺️

Hotel offers room only accommodation. Good clean rooms, updated bathrooms. You will need to check if meals etc are provided. About 15mins walk to town. £5 for a taxi (Feb 2018). Plenty of on street parking with permit from hotel.

The ambassador hotel seems a very well run hotel. The staff are friendly and cater to your needs and I must say the room was very clean and fresh. Overall we have enjoyed our visit and I would definatley recommend as a great place to stay. The hotel sits 2 minutes walk from the lift down to the spa and thus gives easy quick access to the beach and front, especially if you have children or have any mobilty concerns.

A very reasonably priced hotel. Good-sized beds. No breakfast though (may be different in summer).

Been to this hotel before and we enjoyed it so went back. When we booked we was not informed that the facilities had changed. There was no bar, no swimming pool and no breakfast. We didn't know about the breakfast untill we asked on the morning. On TripAdvisor it still states there is the swimming pool breakfast and bar. Won't be going back again. Very poor service this time. Room only. Not worth the money.

Beautiful hotel only fault no breakfast /food had to go into town to eat everyday.

Only 4 stars. The room was excellent, very comfortable with a beautiful sea view. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed so no dinner or breakfast, only bar snacks. The plus point was the staff who went out of their way to recommend a Chinese restaurant and ordered a taxi to take us to town.

1. The staff were amazing and extremely friendly! 2. Our room got upgraded free of charge due to broken heater! 3. My girlfriend was ill and the staff were very caring. 4. Clean, neat and very cosy, the door is open 24/7 so there is not worries if you wish to come in late, or for a game of chess at 2am! 5. The pool and sauna, for the price you certainly cannot complain, the inside facilities really make you enjoy your break that one step further, there's nothing better than getting in a heated pool after a long cold day! 5 reasons for 5 stars! Extras: There are: hairdryers, freeview, nice beds, tea and coffee, high ceiling rooms giving you that feel of extra space! Thank you.

Room clean, nice view, friendly staff. Pool though was freezing and breakfast was not what we thought it was when we booked.

Nice and comfortable here, also situated near the sea. You may struggle with parking though especially in holiday times.

Excellent stay here, enjoyed the spa, pool, sauna, and in the sea view lounge a game of chess. They accommodated our vegan preferences very well for breakfast. A lovely relaxing time.

Nice friendly staff. Ideal if you want a place with a pool but can't afford the Crown spa hotel. Serve an excellent breakfast. In need of decoration which I learnt they have plans to do after the holiday season is over.

Fantastic visit. Room upgraded free of charge, service was lovely, breakfast was amazing. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend.

Very pleasantly surprised. We had booked for two nights but extended our stay by another day. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. They building is elderly but has been recently upgraded and our room had a very smart wetroom and a huge king-size bed. The hotel stands atop the south cliff with great views over the sea. Breakfast was really good and as a vegetarian I was well catered for including veggie sausages cooked especially for me. If we ever visit Scarborough again I would certainly stay here. Excellent value for money.

On arrival free parking was provided, check in was really quick and easy. Our room was a good size with a good sized bathroom. Comfy bed TV and kettle tea and coffee making facilities. Night time was peaceful Evan the seagulls, breakfast time offers a good choice full English or continental all you can eat. The hotel has a bar and bar food/snacks if you require any. We didn't use the spa or pool but it looked nice and free towels are available if you need. Checking out, we used the quick option. Would we go back…? Without a doubt.

Not stopped up this area of Scarborough before and this was a lovely change. The hotel is easy to locate and we had a sea view room which was great. The room we had was massive. Not exaggerating. The bathroom was a bit dated but OK. The bar downstream serves a good mix of drinks options. We didn't use the restaurant or spa facilities as we had a sunny weekend and opted to go out walking across the bays. Sun is a rarity in Yorkshire! Breakfast was self service and had plenty options for cereal, toast, fruits and a fry.

Worst experience ever. Rooms filthy, mould on walls and vermin running along the roof. Avoid like the plague.

This place is a good place to stay it's got a pool & afew spa treatments & the rooms are great aswell love it and Would book again. I gave it star's.

The Ambassador Spa hotel has lovely spacious rooms and also a good range of facilities. These include a swimming pool, a lovely breakfast dining area and also relaxation equipment such as saunas and steam rooms and they even have a relaxation garden upstairs, I found the lift was handy and it was very wheelchair friendly. The staff were helpful and friendly and the nest part was there were no extra fees for using any of the facilities.

Friendly staff, nice room, great food. Could use a little updating in areas. Would definetly return.

The pool was lovely and quiet and the room was clean and had a great see view. As a big bloke who tends to judge everything with his stomach I was very happy with the breakfast, which was delicious and plentiful. Staff were welcoming and helpful and was a lovely weekend stay. Will definately be staying again.

Lovely large rooms; beautiful location with sea views from restaurant and relaxation suite; enjoyable (but small) spa facilities, which are peaceful in February but can imagine would be overcrowded in the Summer season.

Well what can I say we had a one night get away the only good point was the view! We booked a superior double room given a standard double, wall paper pealing off the wall, curtains all stained, huge cob webs over celling, bathroom tiles very dirty, toilet roll holder rusty shower curtain dirty an rings rusty an a tiny tiny bath, after we put in a complaint we was moved rooms to the origanaly booked superior room, slightly better but not by much, the celining looked like it was about to fall in at any point, pelmet was all stained, paint missing from skirting boards, chips out the wall, wall looked like something had been spilt an it an left unattended to, the bed so soft could feel every spring in it an made such a racket when turned over, we had to ask for a kettle an towels, the view was stunning! Breakfast… help your self to own toast fine, wide range of cereal fine, fresh fruit fine, orange or apple juice fine, coffee that was pre made vile, had to adk for butter an milk as only a tiny ammout was put out at once!

This hotel is like a tardis! It has everything you'd need, staff are great and the foods really good. 24 hour bar also, I not bad but the view in the morning over Scarborough, unbeatable.

Recently updated in the public rooms, a lot fresher and plenty of stunning seaviews.

Awesome, fabulous, sea views, free Wi-Fi. Free parking & free breakfast! Wonderful Spa with fabby mud Rasul… Maria has just given me the best 2 hour massage ever! I'm on top of the world sitting in my robe in the sea view cafe bar with my afternoon tea! Sea view heaven.

Excellent, homely and very welcoming. I stayed here in Septemberr and I really enjoyed it. I had a room on the side of the hotel where it still had a view of the ocean. The staff were great and very accommodating. I didn't have chance to use the pool and sauna although I would have liked too as it looked very inviting on an evening. I would be back in a heartbeat. Great location and walking distance to the beach and town. I certainly 'Loved it'. Thank you.

Would definitely recommend, perfect for a relaxing getaway! The Sea views from this hotel are gorgeous! We loved using the Spa, very nice. The reception lent us some Robe packs too for £3.50 each. I wish I had time to have a massage, but hopefully next time! We are staying again over Christmas this, we're looking forward to it.

Was brilliant, seems to of gone down hill slightly, Wi-Fi conection wasnt good and the TV was 1957, hotel is not been looked after aswell as it was. Lights hanging off in the pool and stuff, and the bar! no wonder it was empty, literaly an old cd playing no atmosphere, quite dipressing, we was literaly the only people in there. Still a good hotel I think theve just changed hands and that may explain the problems, would stop again.

This hotel is lovely and in a quiet area just above the cliff lift and spa complex. We stayed with our kids in a room that was not refurbished and to be honest it didn't really matter, it was clean and welcoming. Staff were nice, the breakfast was great, plenty to choose from and something for everyone. Night entertainment was not great as we had children it felt very akward trying to keep them quiet so the older generation could listen to the soft guitar player so we ended up going down to the spa complex a few nights as it was more for families there. Pool area is lovely but really to enjoy this space you have to time it right and be there when no one else is. Terrific views of the sea and overall had a brill holiday there is no reason why we wouldn't stay here again.

My family and I have just returned from a weekend break at the Ambassador Hotel and had a lovely time. We booked a deluxe family room and we were amazed by the size! it was huge. It had a tremendous view over south bay which could be enjoyed from the stunning sash windows. The room's decor was nice and the room was spotless. The leisure facilities are ok, the pool sounds big at 40ft, but is extremely narrow so it soon feels crowded if there are more than a couple of swimmers in there and the changing facilities aren't great. The bar was lovely, with great sea views and the breakfast was fantastic (a buffet style so you could choose whatever you wanted). The only complaint was the deluxe family room is above the bar and there was noise from the live entertainment, (we stayed Saturday night when live music is on in the bar) and although the music finished at 11pm its quite noisy when you have a young family. This however, was tolerable due to the time it ended — but I certainly wouldnt have wanted it to go on much later. Other than that, it was a great hotel and we would certainly visit again in the future.

My hubby and I only had one night at hotel last week but would have loved to stay longer and hope to visit again. We had a room on the 3rd floor so had a wonderful view over the sea. The room was large and we appreciated the comfortable chairs and coffee table in the bay window where we sat with a glass of wine chilling out. Food good and staff very polite and helpful.
