Lovely hotel, very clean and tidy. Helpful staff and great breakfasts for all needs. Some steps from outside to reception OK for us but might deter less able. Would use again.

Really enjoyed our lunch here yesterday so much so we came back again today lol. Good value food and drinks and friendly efficient service. Would definitely recommend and come again.

The rooms were fairly nice except for one having little heating. This wasn't too much of a problem as it still was warm enough and otherwise it was fine. You didn't get much noise from below so that wasn't a issue.

Stayed here for the week whilst working in the area. A Wetherspoons with a hotel on top perfect. Beautiful little market square with museums and shops all very close by. Parking is cheap at the rear of the hotel. The rooms are great with everything you need all the mod cons. The staff are friendly very helpful regardless of the numerous drunks they deal with. The food is okay but could be better. Service is good. Emma behind the bar was exceptional, very professional and well presented to a high standard mentally and physically. Would return in the future for sure.

A fairly good place to stay for a adults but not really kiddy friendly. Meals were good, rooms were clean and beer was good. Overall we've stopped there several time and I've been fairly happy every time.

Staff were very nice and helpful. Place is a bit tired but is an old building. Room and beds were clean. Breakfast was good. Only down side they had no ice for drinks as machine was broken. Apparently not allowed to go and buy ice which as a customer I would have liked in my drink.

Friendly staff and nice, quirky atmosphere. Can get busy during the weekend so service can vary but overall very pleasant pub with open fireplace and good selection of food and drink. Plus, a bonus giant unicorn statue!

Typically well run Spoons pub/hotel. Really good good, clean quality rooms at a realistic price. One point is that there's no lift in the hotel so not good for anyone with mobility problems. Excellent pub too.

Wetherspoons pub. Cheap and cheerful. Old Rosie at £3.09 a pint (at the time of writing) which is great value, if you're a fan of 'fermented apple juice' like me!

Stopped off for breakfast and it was delicious, the staff were great very friendly and accommodating and prices were spot on. Would recommend and will be considering staying overnight in the future.

Just dropped in as needed a cheap meal out on a Sunday evening with my mum at about 6. There were quite a few tables free but a few hadn't been cleared away. I ordered drinks and food via the weather's points app. Service was quick and the staff friendly. The food was standards spoons fare which was fine for us. I had chilli my mum had a small scampi and chips. It's nothing special but the experience was fine. Meal and drinks was £15.00 all in so you can't knock the value.

Lovely place. In center of town. The only thing we encountered was the lack of hot water. Service was great.

A great JDWs lots of character and even allowed me to park my bike in reception. Beer & Food good value!

Great location, big pub and hotel. Room ok. Main sore points… duvet too small for the bed, bathroom cold and key cards for doors didn't work on several occasions…

The room was small but clean but the view was excellent looking out to the market place. The man on the reception was really nice and pleasant a real asset to the place. For your information the hotel does not take cash payment for the rooms.

A very hustly and bustly hotel but a great place to stay at a very reasonable price. Staff were brilliant and the main reception guy was very friendly and helpful. If I was to nit pick I would say it is in need of a lick of paint here and there but other than that it was perfect.

Very friendly staff. Great value for money on Sunday. Had great beer and steak in the pub. The room was clean and tidy, and the lady on reception couldn't have been more help full.

Great hotel room, pub is exactly as you would expect from a Wetherspoons cheap and cheerful but reasonable quality. A handful of real ale on tap, tasted great, I will return.

The Unicorn Hotel is a great place for a quick, cheap bite to eat. Staff are always friendly and they have a (I believe) weekly joke, most of them terribly punny, but they always have me cracking up. I also love the decor, that's themed around Alice in Wonderland, like Tweedledee and Tweedledum behind the bar, who both give recommendations on things to order.

Lovely breakfast nice staff good value too.

Pleasantly surprise we were very apprehensive about booking but thought lets risk it! We had a great 2 night stay Sat & Sun night on the 2nd floor. No noise. Room and bathroom was huge. Tea, coffee, bottles of water and biscuits. All very clean bed very comfortable.

Nicer than average Wetherspoons. If you're a fan of the "Wetherspoons formula" you be happy with your visit, and it's right in the heart of this pretty market town.

It's a nice bar with good prices. It was very busy when we were there. Possibly because it was market day. Layout is a bit manic. But really I'm just bring picky. Loved the decor.

C17th old coaching house, our room a purple and gold mirrored, boutique style with good quantities of coffee and tea with FREE biscuits. Plus a weatherspoons pub below! GREAT VALUE! GREAT STAFF.

Nice size, well equipped and comfortable rooms. They were extremely helpful. Good breakfast and meal menus, and fairly priced.

Very tidy and pleasant place with great natural light. Attentive and well-mannered bar staff and great ale. Highly recommend.

Great location in the heart of ripon with good value food and a wide selection of drinks. Was really busy when we went with the kids (Friday early evening) though still got served and fed fairly quickly! Only downside really is that the place could do with decorating, especially the carpet which must have been in there some time…
