Stayed for two nights and we were very pleased with everything — warm and friendly staff, nice decor throughout, really clean, tasty breakfast and dinner, lovely comfy room, good location and great value. Happy to recommend 👍👍👍

Great beer, also served in a real glass unlike the one down by the slipway with its horrid plastic glasses. Didnt eat but food looked good and plenty of happy faces, also good friendly staff.

Even though there’s no car park, it’s a lovely hotel. The staff are really nice and very helpful.

Nice pub at the top of the bay. A pint of cold wainwright's is definitely appreciated. Food is good and reasonably priced but I feel a few more staff are needed as dinner service was slow to come our and there is often a queue to the bar.

Perfect place to stay to explore countryside and not far from Whitby. Great hotel friendly staff excellent food and spoilt for choice. Nice comfortable rooms ideally situated on top of robin hood's bay bank and also great music every Tuesday night with the legendary Steve Philips and his great band.

Very good home cooked food. My wife says the best steak pie she's had in years. My lamb shank very tasty. Good pint too.

We were regular visitors to the Grosvenor hotel when we had our caravan nearby. We have moved down the coast now but had a nostalgic visit today to Whitby & Robin Hoods bay. We decided to pop in for tea to find it was "curry night". The food & service was just as good as it always was, doggies are welcome inside too. Prices are very reasonable, there are entertainment evenings with music artists & Friday night is now "Steak night". The staff are very friendly & obliging too. It was a lovely visit & we will certainly be going back when we next return.

Very busy in the bar so went into the restaurant to eat and were the only ones there for the longest time. But the food was soon served. The lamb shanks were very tasty with plenty of mash and veg to satisfy us. Helpful and attentive staff without being pushy. Beer well kept.

Would not hesitate to recommend the Grove not Hotel Room was spotlessly clean & extremely comfortable Meals were excellent value.

We had a great "Sunday Lunch" at 4pm. A family group aged 9 months to 70 years. Lovely staff looked after us well. And the roast dinner was delicious.

Stayed here for 4 nights at a great price. Hearty breakfast, great food and ales in the pub. Comfy warm rooms complete with friendly helpful staff. Great location to hit the East coast. Can not fault. Thankyou and well done to all at the Grosvenor.

Nice clean & tidy place, food ok, showers not to good on the top floor (water pressure) no on site parking but parking nearby (charge applies) friendly & amenable owners, would like to have seen/had a lounge area in or around the bar area. Can recommend.

Quality room and furnishings at a great price and breakfast included recommended.

Reasonable rates, clean and spacious rooms, only reason for four stars and not five is that the shower had very poor pressure. Restaurant and bar are excellent — ate there two nights in a row and the food is better in quality and presentation than I have experienced at much more expensive hotels in big cities.

Black ooze came out of taps (Told it was a degraded washer until I pointed out I have a degree in microbiology) then left cleaning products to clean bath myself. Stale and mouldy food under the furniture, and stains on the wall next to bed that I refused to look too close at.

Friendly family pub. Good beer and the only pool table found in the bay.

Staff were happy to serve us food despite us getting there 5 minutes before the kitchen shut. Decent selection of real ales.

Relaxed atmosphere. Value for money. Breakfast was adequate. Room was comfy with modern facilities. Very adequate stay for a couple wanting a couple of nights away to relax. Would stay again.

We dropped in for some food over the bank holiday. Staff were very friendly, food was nice. Would happily recommend.

Wanted to try somewhere different to previous two nights and had this recommended so thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the Garlic Chicken. Other reviews are spot on … portions are very large — and that's coming from someone with a large appetite and, sadly, the figure to show it. The food arrived and the chicken was in a separate dish to prevent the sauce from running into the veg and chips — nice touch. The veg was perfectly cooked — nice and crispy not the oft overcooked soggy rubbish one gets. Oh and another point on veg … 3 lots :) Mange tout, Carrots and Red Cabbage (my favourite veg) The chicken was also cooked to perfection and was delicious. The chips, of course, were also delicious. Excellent meal at a fair price. This reviewer highly recommends this place. Will definitely return on future visits to the area. Visited November 2013

Absolutely wonderful Pub. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Great ale's and a clean and tidy family venue. Many nights are fulfilled with either friendly locals or fabulous entertainment act. Dining has a choice of pub area or back restaurant room, with a good mix of different snack/sandwichs, mains and deserts. There are also themed nights put on like Curry and Pint at a discount, worth checking up on to see what might be on at the time you plan to visit.

We paid £160 for 4 nights B&B. The staff were fantastic, the food was gorgeous with generous portions and our holiday was perfect. We'll definitely be coming back.

I stayed here with my family in the week before christmas, and have nothing but praise for the hotel. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help you, and the rooms were to an extremely high standard — brilliantly decorated. We decided to have a meal off the bar menu, it was delicious! We would recommend the hotel to anyone, and we will definately returning soon! But. Book early. It is high in demand, we managed to book the last room.
