Just been for a fabulous meal (with drinx of course), go every year and I'm sure it gets better each year. The food was fabulous, the staff are very professional and friendly and the drinks are good too. A friendly atmosphere where someone always speaks to you and even our slightly crazy dog. If you've not been — go and see what you're missing.

Visited last night, great service, lovely staff and wonderful food. Would recommend.

What a lovely and relaxing two nights we’ve just spent at The New Inn. We stayed in number 10, a lovely room with a very comfortable bed. What made our stay was the staff, a special thanks to Tracy who’s customer service was exceptional. Thank you for a great weekend, we will be back.

Our second stay here, my first as a fully fledged vegan.
Bad points — small shower cubicle and thin curtains.
That's it for bad points.
Good points — comfy bed, spacious room, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere.
And the pièce de résistance was that the chef fully accommodated me with a vegan option for breakfast and evening meal. Superb!

We stayed in the cottage @ The New Inn very tasteful decorated — the breakfast was fabulous, pub grub great and we were looked after by Tracy the manager. Well worth a visit.

We ordered off the takeout menu this week and must say the food was exceptional. The communication when ordering was swift and the food was just delicious well done to the chef and team for keeping standards high during this difficult time.

What more can I say? Superb beers from their own onsite micro-brewery, great food, lovely people and truly nice pub.

Have called in twice over the last month & enjoyed my meals. Service was good & people adhering to the ever changing rules.

Came for a meal 16th august no staff wearing ppe no social distancing measures in place
slow services …
waited 45 mins to order food after 5 pm and we were first table in after us others were served first mixed messages from un experienced staff
when food arrived seperatly so we ate at different times it was disgusting
burnt mushy roasties
hard crusty 2 slices of beef
vegetables rock hard
yorkshire pudd un cuttable
steak ale pie was a frozen meat pie
kids sausage chips n peas no sausage
then charged over the price by £4
then bar area when I was paying I had other people stood around which then resulted in an arguement…
I had been recommended by friends to visit but unfortunatly this will not be happening £38, 40. Not happy.

Camped in the field this weekend, fantastically welcoming staff, lovely breakfasts, basic facilities in the field, but if you haven't come equipped then you've not prepared haha!
Will be back again, and the beer, oh my, flippin lovely.

Stayed overnight on 29th July 2020, excellent service, friendly staff, food and beer excellent, really well looked after by Hayley. Definitely returning.

We stayed in Brewers Cottage at the New Inn, Cropton. The accommodation is great and the pub food is delicious. Our hosts and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this lovely place. Also very dog friendly.

Friendly staff who talk you through the brewed on site beer, lager, cider and mead. Fantastic freshly cooked food and dessert. 12 out of 10!

Went here earlier in the week for brewary tour and tasting session which came with 2 course meal and I would definately reccommend.
Food was excellent, yorkshire pudding wraps were one of the best we’ve ever had, chips were perfect and desserts were gorgeous. Will be returning next time we up that way.

Fab food and service. Friendly pub! Definitely recommend the Sirloin and Steak pie.

A great weekend spent in brewers cottage for my birthday. Staff in the pub very friendly and welcoming and spoilt me with pudding and a glass of wine for my birthday. We ate in the pub both nights and the food was amazing. Looking forward to returning some time.

Here to celebrate partners 50th, Brewery Tour and Lunch and overnight stay. Great food, attentive bar staff and lovely country atmosphere. In the middle of no where but perfect for a chill out weekend. Still to experience the tour later but will review once complete.

Went to Brewery tour it was great value got lunch 2 pints and the tour. The tour was great fab lady who took us very informative and she had a good sense of humour x.

Came here for an overnight stay to celebrate my mum and dads 30th wedding anniversary and can honestly say, it's one of the best places I've been. The staff at the pub were superb, couldn't do enough for you, going way above and beyond to make sure my mum and dad had a fab time celebrating. The food was excellent, really delicious. Nothing was over priced. The rooms are clean and tidy, nicely decorated. All in all an absolutely excellent stay and we will most certainly be returning.

We booked on the brewery tour and we must say it was excellent. Would definitely recommend it especially the tasting. We will definitely go back Gorbachev meal as the food looked great.

Lovely traditional pub with excellent food and friendly staff. Brewery Tour was very interesting with an entertaining host.
Room was immaculate with delicious breakfast served in the restaurant.

Amazing tour very knowledgeable guide. Enjoyed the pint included and bottle of beer. Food was great yorkshire pudding wrap with sausage and onion filling and chips and gravy.

Nice place for a stop while out walking. We only had a soft drink but the menu looked good and they have a good range of craft beers.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage here, really clean and spacious. The pub served great ales and the food was fantastic. Staff friendly and welcoming. Not much to do in Cropton but very quiet and peaceful. Only a short drive to busier areas. Definitely recommended.

This is a family owned Inn and brewery and reflects this by the warmth you feel as you enter the bar. We are spoilt by the choice of a dozen or so fresh beers brewed on site and the selection of restaurant meals also available in the bar, lounge and beer garden. The bedrooms are updated and surprisingly cosy for a building of its age. Love it.

We stayed here for the first night of our 3 day bike ride and couldn't ask for any better. The owner was very welcoming and made sure our bikes would be secure overnight. We had tea in the pub and it was very nice so was the yorkshire lager which is brewed in the garden! We had breakfast the next day and the owner was very attentive making sure we was well fed for the day ahead. I would highly recommend.

Went there as we were given a red letter experience. This included bed breakfast 3 course evening meal and brewery tour with tasting. On arrival went to main bar good choice of real ales and cask beer all brewed on premises. Had lunch roast beef wrapped in a Yorkshire pud __ very tasty. Evening meal good choice of all courses and everything we had was well presented, cooked beautifully and served with a smile. All of the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and the brewery. Tour of brewery was informative with a chance to sample beers afterwards. We were upgraded to four poster bedroom just in an annex off main car park, lovely and clean, comfy bed. Overall a warm welcome from all staff, good food and a lovely location.

Well worth a visit especially the brewery tour. Food really nice and beer excellent. Hospitality excellent what you would expect from Yorkshire. I've only scored 4stars as the Wi-Fi is only available in the bar and not in the rooms.

We really enjoyed our visit to The New Inn. We booked on Groupon and did the brewery tour with 2 free pints and a gift bag of 2 bottles of ale. We stayed overnight with breakfast included. The room was clean and comfortable but with dated decor, we got 20% off the package, I would say I wouldn't want to pay full price of £85 a night. The food was pub style, a little on the expensive side if I'm honest but very tasty. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Cosy country pub with great beer brewed in house. The Yorkshire Blackout ale is beautiful. There is a beer/cider/Lager for all tastes. Brewery tour is very good too.

My wife and I had not heard of the (Great Yorkshire brewery) at the New Inn at Cropton until my 10 yeaŕ old grandson (Via our daughter) bought me (us) a brewery tour for my 56th birthday and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. What a fantastic time great informative tour around the brew house and bottle plant given by Janet (Lovely quirky lady) and lovely taster selection in a great old pub after the tour. The food was great and a 2 bottle takeaway just topped the tour off. I we will be back thanks for a great time well worth the visit.

We have just spent a lovely evening here at the Inn. The food, hospitality and of course the beer excellent. Our room was on the top floor, beautifully clean and comfortable beds. Very welcoming staff. The full English breakfast was amazing, cereal and toast too. We shall definitely come back no doubt about that. Thank you. Chris and Gail.

Old friendly pub. Offering bed and breakfast. With small brewery attached giving tours. The guide has a great sense of humour as well as fantastic knowledge on how beer is made. The tour price includes 2 bottles of beer. Food portions big! Breakfast fantastic! There is a restaurant if you want to eat away from the main bar.

Lovely country pub, stayed with friends we took the brewery tour, its a small mico brewery, tour lasted about an hour, the lady did the talk in a down to earth, fun light hearted way, to make it interesting to the pepole who dont drink or like bear that was only there with partners. She gave facts & samples if you wished, we was given a voucher each for a drink of our wish, and 2 pack of bear 2 take away, they have lots to choose from at the small bar. The evening meal was lovely all 4 of us enjoyed it, size wise we was all full, the steak pie had large tender meat chuncks came with thick cut chunky chips, proper country pub grub! the waitress was lovely & helpful, the dinning room is light with artist work on the walls. We then went in bar area which is welcoming to locals with their familys & dogs. Our bedroom was clean warm & comfy, The only down side is if you are less able with steps & stairs to rooms, as to the layout of this old building, I cant comment on the cottages having not seen them inside,

Fantastic range of real ales, many brewed in its own micro brewery. Tours are available which are very interesting. My favourite country pub.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The brewery tour was very interesting. The beers are good. We had lunch, dinner, and breakfast here, and they were all excellent. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

Had proper steak and ale pie. 1st impressions where the pie was small but been a full shortcurst pastry pie looks are very decieving with chips and winter veg. The wife had the burger and that was very tasty and filling. Our Labrador was very welcome too. Water and dog bowl at the bar.

Called in with the dog part way through a 10 mile walk. Although not serving food (stops at 2pm) we were made to feel very welcome with pints of beer brewed on site (more than we deserved with the amount of mud we walked in). The beer was so good we had a second pint each, in readiness for the uphill few miles back. We booked to return for Sunday dinner as this seemed a real gem, with great ale, friendly staff and interesting customers who were happy to pass the time of day.

Great CAMRA-listed pub and home of the Great Yorkshire Brewery. Friendly staff & customers! A good mix of locals and people visiting. As it has very little in the way of mobile signal, there was much more socialising between tables. Great beer range as this is a brewery 'tap' but also several guest beers. I think it was 6 pumps on cask and probably 8 or so on keg beer. Quite a range available from Yorkshire Blackout, a lovely dark beer all the way through to an unfiltered American Ale which had an excellent flavour. Took a gift pack home for my son. Pub has accommodation, games room, restaurant, conservatory and a good number of tables in the bar. Impressive! Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Great little village pub. Excellent range of own brewed beers. Didn't try the food but looked nice.

Visited yesterday for dinner. We are staying on holiday locally. Very disappointed overall. Firstly 3 of our 4 dishes stated they were served with a vegetable accompaniment. We decided to order an additional side of seasonal vegetables for the table. However, our meals came out without any vegetables and with one small bowl of vegetables to share. We shared our disappointment and another bowl was brought out. But worse, when we went to the bar to pay the tab, an additional 2 glasses of wine had been added to our bill! When I said "it says here we've had 6 glasses of wine… " to waitress immediately knew the error without me telling her we were over charged for 2. I can't help but think today that was our punishment for complaining about the vegetables. That aside, food was hot and fresh and nice. Decor is dated and in need of repair and a good clean in areas, especially the fitted seating.

My friend and I enjoyed the brewery tour and I loved the beer afterwards. We had a fabulous three course meal later that evening which was served by a lovely lady. Breakfast was lovely and fresh the next morning.
The only negative I have was our room (room 5). We were above the pool room. The noise of customers went on to early hours. The shower was terrible with no pressure.
I wouldn't stay again but a meal and a quick pint would be a great idea.

Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at the New Inn… food and beer very good. Brewery tour very informative… all the staff were extremely welcoming and very friendly. Room was lovely bathroom could do with updating, bit overall very comfortable stay.

Came here for a stag night for 8 middle aged people on the 9 may. The brewery tour was very good plenty of questions asked and answered be our guide very interesting. Had a few beers before our evening meal very good real ales on offer. The evening meal was very nice all came together full marks to the chef. Back to the bar for a session the staff here are very helpful and pleasant a credit to the hotel. But boy what a lovely breakfast very nice one of the best I have had in a long while this was my first visit here but I have just booked a 3 night break end of June loved the place very nice people rooms was good steps a bit hard when had a few beers well done for a great night from 8 of us.

My husband and I had a fabulous Sunday Roast. Absolutely delicious.

Visited the Cropton Brewery a while ago for a tour. The tour itself is okay, but it could possibly do with a bit of polishing and showmanship. No real fault of the guide, he seemed a nice bloke (and obviously felt strongly about his beer! ), it's just a fairly small thing to see and it was a bit underwhelming. Following the tour it was a trip back up to the pub (on the Brewery) where the food was absolutely superb. Honestly, some of the best pub grub I've had. It's also worth saying at this point that the beer they produce is very nice. The Blackout is one of the nicest beers I've ever had, every time I have another there's something new to taste. It is worth saying though, that the pub could probably do with a bit of a renovation, it's not really the greatest establishment. I'm not saying Wetherspoons (Boo! ) I'm just saying a bit of effort there would make this a really nice point of interest for the Moors!

I have visited The New Inn on two previous occasions and had good food, but on this visit their standards have certainly fallen. I can't fault the ale but I ordered a Lamb shank with roasted garlic mash. The lamb shank was dry and the garlic mash was very bland, in fact I don't think it had any garlic in it. I questioned this with a reply of " I'll tell the chef to put in more in future" also the vegetables were very under cooked. At over £13 for this dish I felt very disappointed. Perhaps the usual chef was on holiday but you're only as good as your last meal and I'll not be going back. So, great ale and overpriced under average food in my opinion.

Lovely Pub with some great beer. But. If you know and like your beer beware! Short pints pulled, top up's refused, Landlady claimed beer was up to mark (NO mark on glass) and claimed that they were over sized glasses THEY WERE NOT. We poured two marked half's into one glass and it came to the very top of the glass! Weights and measure's have been emailed.

Amazing beer and food. It was a welcome surprise to book a holiday and have a brewery so close.

26/07/2010. Visited New Inn for lunch. As we (me and wife) arrived, a coach pulled up outside. We entered a downstairs bar and bought drinks. Plenty of room in the conservatory, so we planned on sitting there. Nice young lady behind bar told us that a coach party was due, and suggested that we might prefer to go to the Main Bar, which was upstairs. Very thoughtful of her, and we did go upstairs. Ordered a meal, which arrived quickly. Generous portions, brought by a pleasant lady. Food very good. Empty plates quickly cleared away. No complaints from us at all. We shall probably visit again.
