Go, eat enjoy! Food freshly cooked, chef hand makes a most of the dishes from scratch, you have to wait but it’s cooked whilst you wait not pinged in a microwave.

Don't bother. Very atractive outside, not seen a lick of paint or a duster since the seventies. And by the way, only sells very expensive italian draught lager.

A lovely historic pub but needs some attention especially the cleaning. Did not try the food on this occasion so might need a return visit.

Nice enough pub, serves 'pub grub' reasonable prices. Interesting gardens and grounds.

Beautiful location, went to out niece's wedding there, what a grand day we had. Good food great staff.

This place is fantastic! We held our wedding there including our ceremony and it was perfect. The staff and owner June couldn't have been more helpful, organising food and ensuring the day went smoothly. The garden and outdoor space is so beautiful which was great for our wedding pictures and festival theme. The venue itself holds 200 so it's great and lots of space for people to enjoy the day! I cannot recommend it highly enough. We also stayed in the b&b the room did not disappoint with all of our needs taken care of and it was much better than expected. Breakfast was fab. Go visit and see for yourselves. Thankyou June and staff.

Best pub in Yorkshire — I was a landlady there for nearly 14 years (left in 1977) and we (the family) had many happy hours in the pub and the village. So glad June got to look after the Bay Horse — she is a fantastic landlady. I miss my visits there.

A nice bar, albeit a little out dated.

Wonderful pint of Cumberland followed by a bacon and avocado panini with friendly staff. Perfect Saturday afternoon and will be back again.

We booked into the Bay Horse. Had a lovely stay. Room was comfy an clean, decided to have our evening meal there which was scrummy! Will defo b back when we have the chance.
Gardens are lovely just wish we had better weather to of enjoyed them more. Defo a great place to sit in the gardens, glass of vino in hand when the weather is better.
Thank you it was just what we were looking 4 peace an quiet and a relaxing night.

31st Aug 2016 What a surprise? I thought my Publicans in West Sussex rip people off. £5.00 for a cheese and tomato sandwich, resplendent with pre munched up salad garnish, with supermarket "value wholemeal" bread Sandwiches obviously take longer to make as well. 25 mins in fact! In a dead pub £19.00 for 3 really uninspiring snack lunches. DON'T LET ME FORGET! The Men's bogs, clean, yet in a seventies time warp HRJ tiles TV 3 I believe, need major overhaul, even the cystern cover was broken. If your going to have a black and white beamed scheme, make sure the the cleaner dusts the nooks and crannies. The experience won't kill you but only go if your thirsty or busting for a pee!

Friendly staff, tasty food and a pleasant stay.

We visted the Bay Horse recently and was very pleased with it. The food was excellent, the pub itself is very clean and nicely presented, a proper village pub. We found the staff to be very helpful aswell well as polite. We were offered seating either in the restaurant or in the bar area, we choose the restaurant as the view into the garden is lovely (hoping to vist again in summer to take full advantage of a beautiful garden). The food was prepared fresh and piping hot, and again very well presented. A good selection on the menu, and I can say the food tasted lovely. A good selection of drinks, which are inline with average prices. We most certainly will be visting again, this is what a village pub should be, with the advantage of a large restaurant area, and beautiful gardens.

Visited for a Sunday lunch, the place was empty when we arrived and the staff were all sitting in the bar. We were the only visitors so it seemed strange that we were seated on the table next to the kitchen door. After we placed our orders with the uninterested waitress, two of the staff sitting in the bar walked past us into the kitchen to noisely prepare the food. The food arrived which was average. I dont know how a pub like this stays open these days — there are many many pubs in the Harrogate / Knaresborough / Wetherby areas which are far superior.
