Came today as a party of 6 for my in-laws ruby wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely unbelievably good, portions were massive. And the staff were so lovely. We will definitely be coming here more often.

Excellent sunday lunch. Great menu choice. The staff were very cheerful & attentive & had rhe required Covid safeguard procedures in place. First time we have been in a while but will definitely return again.

Roman was very accommodating. Nothing was to much trouble.
The rooms were clean and comfortable.
We went in March so it was very quiet. Great place for access to York.

Party of 15 for my nannas 100th birthday treat, food was really nice and hot and no one had to wait. Lovely staff, thank you.

Good and service very first class. I would definitely recommend it. We weren't rushed and had a lovely alcove for our party which was for a lady's 100th birthday party. Friendly and efficient. Thankyou.

The food was very good, but sadly because not many people in the restaurant there wasn’t much atmosphere.

Menu was basic but well cooked and tasty. Room fine. Staff friendly and accomodating. Overall a nice stopover.

Hosts were very welcoming upon check in and quickly showed us to our room. The room was clean and cosy. Shower had good pressure and was nice and warm. Bed was very comfortable and a good nights sleep. Breakfast was quick to be served and good quality. A very pleasant stay. Will be returning next time we are in the area!

Stayed just down the road at the Parsonage spa hotel and visited the White Swan for a meal. Really impressed, very nice meal better than the local gastro pub! So good we returned later in the week and again it was equally as good. Throughly recommend.

Very friendly, clean and food is beautiful.

We have just returned from a 2 night break. We found the accommodation very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly a d obliging and the food was good too. We have booked for another 2 nights in December.

No atmosphere. Had scampi but nothing special. Prices had gone up since last visited. Not good value for money!

Spent one night, had dinner and breakfast there and was very happy with room and the food. Clean, comfortable, well appointed room. And good selection and deliciously prepared food! Close to York and reasonably priced.

Down here for a few days in the Motorhome and today was our second visit to the White Swan. First visit we had Fish and Chips which were beautifully cooked and so tasty. Today we had Roast Beef lunch. Beef was so tasty and tender Yorkshire puds light and fluffy veg nicely cooked and the best REAL mashed a d roast potatoes we have had for a long long time. Many thanks to the Chef and staff for a great meal and excellent service.

And what a lovely stay, room was lovely and modern and large kingside bed which was very comfortable very clean staff very friendly food was lovely in the evening and prices very good
Breakfast was included in the stay and all very fresh
Would recommend if your visiting York then give this place a try

We were site seeing from Canada for stuff about my family and came upon the White Swan and wanting a traditional pub food we stopped in. My two sons had the bacon cheese burgers and they said it was best burgers they've had even the fries got a thumbs up. Daughter had the beef stroganoff, I had sausage and mash and my husband had the meat pie, all were very well done and hot. Service was impeccable. If we are back in the area again we will definitely put it on our list.

I have lived near The White Swan for nearly 30 years and have driven past on countless occasions. For the first time tonight we called to have a meal as we had family over to visit. I cannot recommend this place highly enough from the friendly staff to the lovely food (the chips were to die for) there were no complaints at all. My nephew who is very particular about his burgers said that his was the best one he had ever had which is high praise indeed. I will not hesitate to return and try some of their other dishes and hopefully this time I won't be too full to have one of their mouthwatering desserts :)

Down to earth pub nice staff good food.

My wife and I stayed for 1 night. The bedroom was quite small but clean and tidy. The shower room attached was small and was definitely 1 person at a time. There is mirror in the bedroom so my wife found it very awkward to do her hair. Also only 1 hook to hang bath sheets. However the major issue for me was the road noise. Our room overlooked a main road into York and was used all through the night. I hardly got any sleep.

Stayed in the Beggergate room which was quite small but very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed except could maybe do with a mirror in the bedroom. Pub was also very clean and food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Good value for money good. Good beers. Comfy well spaced interior.

Food was very nice and filling also staff was lovely.
