Popped in for a drink and decided to have dinner. Bartender most helpful, found us a table and piping hot food arrived quickly. Great food, good choice of beers/lagers/ wine etc lovely ambience and very helpful staff!

Telephoned last minute, managed to fit us in at the bar. Got there, and they found us a table in the restaurant so that was lovely. The meal was good and staff are polite and helpful.

Excellent meal on visiting the area we tried 4 previous restaurants which all advertised evening meals stating and were open one was closed two weren’t serving meals the 4th said there were too many of us we then found the Tempest Arms magnificent place superb cuisine

Stopped for a quick drink outside, used the app from the QR code sticker on the table. Brilliant service. My only grumble is the app doesn't list crisps so the poor waiter went back inside for us to get some.

Lovely weekend away. Excellent service from friendly staff. Social distancing and respect from everyone. Relaxed and chilled. Close to Yorkshire Dales, lovely walks and plenty to do. Food and drinks quality.

Food was delicious staff very friendly and girl behind bar made me laugh every time I went to bar. Will go again for a meal.

Such a lovely place let down with poor food for the price. The standards was set when the bread arrived. If your not going to bake your own I wouldn’t bother, or at least send something a bit more appetising. The pate starter was inedible, the worse iv ever tasted! Dry, course, bitter, defrosted and over cooked served with 3 teeth breaking ‘croutons’. The steak at £22 is nothing short of a p@ss-take as seen in the picture, the mushroom was almost bigger than the steak. Personally I don’t like my food served in all the little baskets an ramekins under the sun to make it look better value. Even the lamb ‘thing ma bob’ lived up to its name… tiny, microwaved, dry, swimming in minty fat which left a horrible coating of grease in the mouth you had to wash with every mouthful. Best part of the meal was the mash potato unfortunately. This is the 3rd disappointing visit in a row.

The food is lovely and the service is good. However there are too many tables near each other in the restaurant and you can’t have a quiet conversation and folk can hear the conversation as I could with them.

Fabulous hotel. So pretty and so English. The staff are great.

On our latest visit we went to celebrate a family birthday — the mains were delicious with the hymn sheet dishes being really creative and the puddings divine. We ate in the Restaurant which is cosy and intimate with very attentive staff. Thank You.

We went here on the off chance got a table (would recommend booking) it was busy (Sunday). Well you could see why when the food arrived. You wouldn't say there was loads on your plate but I was full after it and the taste well fantastic is all I can say all 4 of us agreed probably the best pub meal we had had in a long time. Would recommend you have to try this place and the price wasn't to bad to. Thanks for a great meal.

This is one of our favourite places to eat. The decor is stylish but cosy and the food is always excellent. We had steak & ale pie and cheese & onion pie. The only problem was finishing the very generous portions.

We eat and drink here quite regular. And even had our wedding reception here! Can't recommend this place highly enough! Thanks to all the staff! Will definitely recommend to anyone I know who wants amazing food and a chilled out atmosphere.

The food is really nice, good size portions and lots of choice and variety. There is an excellent selection of real ale (other drinks are available). The staff were really good; attentive but not overly so. Our food came in good time and was piping hot. Try the pies!

Massive menu. Excellent food quality. Clean and helpful. It can take a while for food to arrive as its always busy and it's cooked fresh to order.

Squeezed us in at short notice on a busy evening. Consistently good food and service and despite the number of people who have passed through the establishment, we were remembered on what was only our second time of eating there (and not for any bad reason! ). This will definitely become a favourite eating place.

Had a fish platter and a cheese board when we visited. The lady who greeted us and served us was polite friendly and professional. The seafood was excellent, so fresh and full of taste. I can’t wait to come back.

A good varied menu and selection of drinks. You can eat in the restaurant or in the bar. It is also a Hotel with some nice rooms usually at excellent prices, especially if you are also eating there. The staff are very good and helpful.

We booked an overnight stay in a hot tub suite for my other half’s birthday and neither of us were disappointed!
The room was beautiful, excellent views and the hot tub was a real treat.
The food was to die for! The evening meal was 100% worth every penny and breakfast the morning after was faultless.
The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. Could t do anymore for us.
We’ll definitely be back.

As always we had the most delicious meal at your restaurant. It’s a beautiful building the style is perfect the decor is fabulous. (we’ve also stayed there in the past and the rooms are individual and stylish and fully equipped with everything you’d need. ). Very friendly staff at the bar and waiting on too — nothing too much trouble. Food absolutely excellent couldn’t fault anything … we will be back again very soon. Thankyou very much x.

7 of us went on a Thursday evening it was very busy and the food and service was brilliant I can highly recommend the pork fillet it was gorgeous and everyone else said their food was lovely.

Love it here. A cosy, friendly pub with great, welcoming staff and lovely food. Worth staying overnight here as the rooms are nice too and some have hot tubs with great views of surrounding hills.

Good old traditional pub but I do feel the food has gone a bit down hill of late. Great range of beers, ciders, gins etc.

We have stayed here seven times we thoroughly enjoy each stay. The staff are great, the food brilliant and the rooms cosy, clean and plenty big enough.

We had Christmas lunch at the Tempest on Tuesday 5th December 2017. The turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, new and roast potatoes and gravy were good but the vegetables were raw. When a fork was inserted into a sprout it shot across the plate and the table, by the time the veg was sorted the rest of our meal was eaten. I should have refused to pay the full bill but didn't and no offer of a reduction was proffered. Margaret of Burnley.

Omg what an amazing night away. We are busy working parents so a night off is like gold dust. We booked the tempest arms hot tub suite room (13). Wow. The room is spotless. They have though of everything and the best part is private hot tub. Sat in having a glass of wine on a sat night wash lush. Went for dinner. Food was amazing. Quick service. Reception staff for the hotel were very professional and more than helpful. Breakfast was gorgeous. I can not fault a thing. Will be booking again. Feel like a new woman! X.

I won a Facebook competition for a free night away here in a hot tub suite. It was amazing, the food was beautiful. Especially the beer soaked mushrooms in a cream and Stilton sauce! They are to die for. Hubby had pigeon breast to start and then the Bolton Abbey Lamb Chops! He said it was the best lamb he’s ever had. A cheese board and then wine to follow! The service we received was fantastic! Made us feel very welcome and didn’t rush us when we asked for a delay before the cheese board. The hot tub suite was amazing. We sat out till late with the fairy lights on and relaxing. We will be back. Thank you Veronica and Martin.

Stunning food, a beautiful place to eat with family and friends. Hidden just off a main road but with plenty of parking. Accommodation is available. Particularly good if you like meat and fish dishes. Food has a natural flair and charm. Highly recommend.

The room was wonderful with views over the stream and fields through the French windows. Very romantic setting. Will book a hot tub room next time just to fulfill the whole Tempest experience.

Wedding anniversary meal at the tempest. We do love this place. We also got married at this place. Can't wait to visit all over again. Amazing food and drinks selection.

Accommodation was good, a vast bed and decent bathroom. Food is the main draw though. Varied menu, huge portions and all really tasty. Staff are professional and friendly. Breakfasts are good.

Quaint pub with excellent food. Old buildings re-done to provide great ambience, along with new build bedrooms. Had an 80th birthday party here in one private room, only niggle was the disco in the next door, larger, function room was a bit loud!

Stayed at the tempest arms for 2 nights whilst attending a day river fishing with a guide. The rooms are spacious and well decorated and the food in the restaurant is very good, some of the nicest I have had. The location is good as it is quite near a busy road but far enough away to be quiet. Perfect location for being able to get out and about but still be connected to the world. Overall this Is a very nice place to stay and I would thoroughly recommend it.

We went for a late lunch (orders taken until 2.30pm midweek) and the food came very quickly. It was all very nice — we chose the nibbles range to share, like you would with tapas; it was very filling. Good selection of wines and craft beers and lagers. Friendly service.

The Tempest Arms is a beautiful pub just outside Skipton. It serves beautiful food and fantastic beer and has beautiful rooms for overnight stays. Hugely recommended.

Tempest Arms, Elslack. Lovely setting and atmosphere, slightly odd scramble for tables to eat at in the bar area, but good food once it arrived.

We've been to most of the restaurants and inns around the Skipton area and the Tempest Arms is unfailingly the best. Food is excellent (freshly cooked so don't expect fast service). The menu is very varied and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There's no better place for a meal out — and if you don't want a long wait, try one of their bar menus. Top notch. Recommended without reservation … although at weekends I DO recommend that you ring to reserve a table as it's a very popular venue.

Recent trip stopping on a Friday evening and Saturday breakfast. Taking a hot-tub room and enjoying a 3 course meal. The reception is tucked away, from the main enterance, saving the walk thought the pub. Staff were friendly and directed me to the room (wife already there). The accommodation was very good, and the hot tub great fun. Located outside with the view through trees up a hill. There was a thunderstorm so very glad there was a roof over the hot-tub. On to meal. An amazing selection of options, all looking good value. It did seem 'very' busy. We were served our meal, all good bar the peppercorn sause, the green peppers apparently. Just one of those things : (Overall however the meal was excerlend, we would try again (meal and stopping over)

The tempest is a little hidaldy pidalldy the layout is wrong but the food was okay I had the Red Thai Prawn Curry £11.95 which was fine but I'm not sure what onions were doing in there and far to many of them my wife had the Rump Steak £12.50 which came with chips salad and onion rings the steak was excellent chips not so.

Cosy feel with a open fireplace or two and above average gastro menu. Helpful staff and but you might need to wait a while to get served when it's busy. Dogs allowed in the bar area, but not the restaurant (although both serve the same food).
