In need of a serious update. Clean-ish but everything is very 1980's and seemingly not been cared for since then (bath panel warped and unsecure, mattresses thin and noisy, thin walls, tired everything. Was ok for 1 night but would have been devastated if we were here for a longer break. Location good tho.

Such a lovely stay — really friendly / helpful staff, great room and breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

No heating or TV — Wi-Fi has to be paid for — staff extra keen to take money but a cold room and despite website saying opposite there is no dinner.

Very dog friendly made me and my dog Czar feel at home thank you.

Lovely hotel. Free parking directly outside at weekends. We stayed in room 260. Large warm room with views directly over the promenade. The rooms are a tad dated but spotlessly clean, warm and well maintained. Suprisingly quiet for a seafront location, the adjoining pub was silent by 11pm in a saturday night which meant we had peaceful nights sleep. The staff were helpful and breakfast (we had one english and one vegetarian breakfast) were above par. Will stay here again.

Very nice hotel in Steyne Gardens. 2 mins from sea. Very reasonable rates for night. Nice rooms and staff very nice. Stayed here before. Always come back to this hotel. Nice bar well stocked. Overall a very nice hotel for your money. Recomend.

Nice room very warm bed was comfortable sheets clean and nice pillows breakfast was good enjoyed my night here.

Staff very pleasant, good location were plus points. Room was cold with no heating and no hot water in October. We were told at reception that there would be hot water once the central heating kicked in in a couple of days! Incredible.

My husband and I stayed just recently for 6 nights, no information upon arrival about breakfast, dinner, drinks or any other services. Lifts very small and slow. Room on 3rd floor very hot, window would not shut to keep out the noise from the road and gardens and bottom half of window would not stay open. Some serving staff did not understand English and did not know how to poor a drink, bar service poor. Restaurant service O. K most of the time, once or twice felt ignored and constantly asked for room number once or twice quite rudely. Excellent food though. Extras like room service and paper delivered to your room should have been included in price. Breakfast was included which was very good and tasty and filling and a good choice. Fairly comfortable, bed comfortable although slopping floors made it feel like my feet were much higher than my head therefore I think bed could have been better positioned. Very clean room and en suite shower room. Plenty of storage. Departure — night receptionist before leaving very helpful but morning receptionist not very friendly and not really helpful or interested, more interested on talking to a friend on his phone. Evening meal excellent but still alittle expensive for hotel residents and drinks also a little expensive for residents even after "happy hour". For basic bed and breakfast I thought a bit expensive overall for approximately £114 per night for 2 people.

Hard beds thin pillows noisy. No staff at night. Can't make a cocktail in the evening!

My second stat won’t be last great food at good value if your a guest bar has a happy hour nice place to sit and relax rooms cosy no complaints my end.

Room sizes are ok but extremely hot with no way of cooling them.
Staff are friendly but some need to learn better English, and need to remember that is rude to speak in their native language between them in front of customers. Also, even when they speak in their native languages, they should keep the type of conversation to a more private place, some customers may understand what they are saying.
Not very accessible for people with disabilities.

I stayed 1night and having looked at reviews wasn't sure what to expect but was genuinely impressed. The receptionist was very helpful but the area did smell of cooking. My room was plenty large enough and clean. The wardrobe had loads of hangers and shelf space. The hospitality tray included biscuits, rare these days. Good information provided and discounted rates if you ate there, I didn't. Yes it's an old building so the floors creak, the Windows could have better sound proofing but for the price small matter. The bed was comfortable and the bedding fresh. The bathroom was fine and very clean. Breakfast was served with a good choice. Yes a better view at the back would be nice but not exactly the hotels fault! I would stay again but book a front room.

Good food, comfortable accommodation although not very spacious. Only one of the two lifts was working. Otherwise satisfactory.

Dire. if your in a warden assisted accomodation & institution resident then this will be ideal for you. The Chatsworth is an eclectic cross between one foot in the grave & faulty towers without humour.

The room had no air conditioning. It was like sleeping in a sauna even with both windows open. The temperature outside was not too hot but there was no air circulation. Breakfast was good and the hotel is 50 meters from the pebble beach.

Nice hotel with helpful friendly staff. We were with a group on B&B and evening meal basis and both were excellent. Rooms could benefit with Aircon in this hot weather but staff provided fans.

Hotel adequate for a nights stay. Breakfast was good and waiting staff were polite and helpful. Reception was a little unprofessional and very sharp and uninviting. Had to ask about parking and was told to park around the green. Free after 6 and Sundays yet still got a bloody parking ticket.

Another wonderful weekend at a great hotel. Staff so helpful and friendly. We will be back again for sure.

Rooms were good. However, restaurant was substandard. Lots of menu items were unavailable, and very little for vegetarians. And quite slow in getting the food out.

Hotel is a lovely building and the location is wonderful. Staff excellent and friendly. Hotel let down by poor quality rooms, beds, bathrooms and no insulation between the rooms so woken up numerous times by noisy guests all around in the early hours.

Strongly recommend you look elsewhere for a a decent hotel in worthing. This hotel is located wonderfully but that's the end of the good news. The building is old and this means unbearably noisy. The room decor is ok at best and half the rooms overlook a coach park. The doors, extractors, floors and lifts are all 20yrs+ past their useful lifespan and added to the noise. The staff are a mixed bag, and during our stay myself and my family (friends and grandparents) were housed… along with a basketball team who were raucous all night. The staff member supposed to have an eye on this was playing cards on his phone when I complained, oblivious of a group of guests carrying crates of beer up to their room. Despite admitting that our stay was severely affected by this, the hotel washed their hands of their responsibility to the rest of their guests and were unwilling to make an offer of real goodwill. Do not stay here. It's not worth it. The breakfast.

To put it simply, it was very nice. It had the atmosphere that it was a bit 'old' but that wasn't a bad thing. I will be going back.

Very nice comfortable room with sea views. Gorgeous breakfast. Only issue was the parking which you were clock watching in the morning to ensure you were gone by 9am.

I found all the staff were attentive to request and requirement thought out my stay. The room was clean and well appointed, access to the town and the sea front were only 300 yards away in iether direction, good venue for Coach party bookings, and function rooms of a high standard and plenty off separate places to sit and relax, it has a warm atmosphere, along with dance floor and entertainment & Bar. There is easy wheel chair access. In short short, Money well spent.

Rally nice and friendly staff. I love the warming rooms and place with a classic decoration mix with carpet everywhere. Makes the place a good location to relax.

In much need of modernisation. We stayed in the luxury poster room and it was ok but very small. The windows were all single glazed sash and even when they were closed the wind whistles through. The bathroom was tiny it had a toilet that was so close to the bath it felt as tho it was an afterthought. The shower would only face down at a really awkward angle which made it difficult to use. This seemed standard in all the rooms our party of 18 were discussing over breakfast. I made a reference to the showers at breakfast and the reply was that they will look into it but I had the impression that this was a very common complaint that will never be sorted. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. Very quirky old place and the the floors are very uneven towards the front of the hotel down the many corridors leading up an down to your room. I'm glad we had a porter as the distance to the luxury rooms is a distance. At £126.00 for the night I suppose is reasonable for a nights stay but I would of expecting more from the room. A travel lodge or premier inn puts there bathrooms to shame.

Very nice, old fashioned, warm and cosy. And has a bath what more could you want. If breakfast is good tomorrow it's getting 5 star's. I'll be coming back in September.

Nice clean room, attentive staff. Although I didn't dine there, the breakfast was to die for! About a minute from the sea front with excellent bus connection to Brighton.

My partner booked a New Years Eve package promising a night of entertainment. When we walked in it was like visiting a nursing home! The hotel is drab and the age group is of 70 plus. Should be stated that the hotel is normally for the very elderly customers. They did refund the £184.00 that was going to be charged for the five course meal and entertainment, eg: resident dj, food not detailed anywhere what it was, at first refused. The room was very old fashioned, nothing like the rooms advertised on the website. The bath was like warm, hot water ran out. When running the bath, couldn't use the sink as no water from the taps. The bar is non existent, looks like a doctor's waiting room. This hotel would be fine only if you are a very old person and should be advertised as such.

A little faded glory but excellent value and service.

Went here on a course in one of the function rooms. The general feel of the place is dispite there best efforts to keep the old building going its in bad need of renovations. Reception staff was helpful but tripping over all the dirty sheets the maids had thrown out of the rooms was not.

I regularly use the conference facilities here and can never fault the service, the staff are very friendly and helpful. If you're very lucky you might get to meet one of the resident pooches (Chip the dachshund is my personal favourite! )

Staying here on business. It is not a cold clinical Hilton but a unique friendly old fashioned hotel. Very peaceful and little noise. Very handy for restaurants and walk on sea front. Good to see the union jack flying outside. Room not modern but comfortable. Decor is traditional. If you want character and a good night sleep and friendly staff come here, if not go to the usual chains where every establishment is the same.

The best price online and you get great value and service.

Awful stay and on my wedding night! I went to change bout of my wedding dress and the room was unbearably hot. Contacted reception to move room only to be told only 1 other room and air con not working in their either. I said to just give me my money back and I'd get a cab home. Manager said he would try fix it so accepted this and went back to my wedding reception. I understand he believed he had fixed it. However, we came back later to find the air con was not working so had an awful wedding night. I've complained to the manager and asked for my money back only for that room not the other 4 I had booked but told no. He has become very abrupt advising he will not be held to ransom when I advised I will be writing my reviews and advising relevant standards authority that he is fixing machinery in his hotel that he is not qualified to do and putting people's health and safety at risk. He also suggested I should have contacted night management about the air con breaking again. Don't know how acceptable he thinks it is for a wedding couple to continuously chase and have people in and out their room at late hours to fix an air con. The breakfast wasn't great either — very poor quality sausages and bacon. All other guests stayed at THE BURLINGTON and had a fabulous stay so would recommend this hotel as opposed to the awful chatsworth.

Stayed here overnight and had a fantastic time, on the third floor with beautiful sea and garden views easily accessible by stairs or the 2 lifts which literally took us 2 minutes to get to our room if that, very friendly staff from the moment we arrived to when we left, check in was a breeze and the very helpful gentleman on reception made everything so easy and hassle free. Breakfast was included and wow, a fantastic fry up with very tasty big fat sausages and all piping hot, and as much choice of extras as you could wish for. Staff came and served us straight away and felt like the food arrived so quickly that we didn't even noticing we'd waited and cleared our plates away as soon as we'd finished but not in a way that you felt rushed, also considering the restaurant for breakfast was quite busy yet you'd never have noticed due to the efficacy of the staff. Although we didn't use the games room it looked amazing with pool and snooker tables, table tennis and skittles. Our room was lovely with a four poster bed and TV right next to the bed with a swivel bracket so could easily be moved to suit viewing angle, the room was very clean and tidy and lovely white bed sheets which we inspected thoroughly. The bed was very comfy and we also had a lovely cup of tea in the morning thanks to having a kettle and cups etc provided in the room. Would definitely recommend this hotel and without a doubt would come back again.

Nice seaside hotel. If you are used to the usual corporate hotels this is a little bit different. Everything is a tad dated but with that comes some character. The rooms are fairly compact and have a small TV. The bathroom again is small but has a shower and bath. There is free Wi-Fi with good coverage. We could not get the AC to work. Breakfast is not extensive nor exceptional quality but certainly adequate. If don't have the inclusive deal definitely go elsewhere​ as it is not worth the £13 they charge. There is an excellent games room hidden away in the basement. Parking is either on the street or you can use the multistorey down the road with which the hotel has a discount arrangement. £8 for the two nights we stayed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful!

Nice setting with the beach front on the doorstep. Well kept hotel with comfortable and spacious rooms, I stopped in a twin room. Nice en suite bathroom with towels and bathroom soaps and shower gels provided. Staff were friendly and helpful, also bar was open until late which was useful as arrived late. Would stop there again and was a pleasant change from some work arebaged hotels :D.

Stayed here just over night with my hubby. Had a lovely spacious room which had a four poster bed plenty of storage. The room was cosy and warm when we arrived. Our room had air con which was free to use but having a sea view we just opened the window. We were on the 3rd floor which overlooked the garden square and sea although the road around could be pretty busy we didn't find it over noisy. You can park outside but is busy. You can park in a car park just 5 mins away just ask reception for details. The games room had plenty to do with 2 snooker tables, pool table, table tennis and a skittles alley. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Melissa was especially a help with a mix up over my booking (my mistake). Breakfast was nice plenty of choice. You are in walking distance of shops pubs etc. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back for a visit.

We went to a wedding reception at the Chatsworth and it was great. The bars were well attended and the venue was clean and tidy. Reception staff were more than tollerant.

Great food. Central position.

The service is fine, staff are nice and polite. Rooms are a bit small and definitely outdated. Carpets falling apart a bit and the décor is old fashioned. Smells a bit like stale cigarettes. The dining room however is lovely. I think if they revamped and modernised the rooms slightly it would make a huge difference.

Nicely presented wedding venue, with the ceremony room overlooking Worthing seafront and promenade. The room itself is a little plain, but the views make up for this. There are no gardens to speak of but wedding photographs can easily be taken on the Steyne Lawns or on the beach and look great. The reception room is a decent size and was nicely decorated for the wedding I photographed there. The wedding party does not have the hotel to themselves though.

No parking, average restaurant, decent rooms, good location.

Stayed there day after my wedding as it was a gift paid for by friends! was 1st greeted with how are paying? was told our champagne was included in price by friends who booked it then told not. Totally spolit our night away would not return.

Excellent staff, location and service. Highly recommended.
