Appeared busy but wasnt. Good beer, lovely location, nice decor. I would like to come back to try the food.

Fantastic country pub in beautiful settings, with amazing food. Me and 3 of my rugby friends all had the sirloin steak which was delicious and very reasonably priced. Will be back very soon with my partner. Friendly staff and locals also.

Great food, slow service, amazing location.

Nice pub. Very restauranty. Good food. Pleasant staff. Can't put my finger on exactly why I was a little underwhelmed — think it was because it felt like I'd been here before. Yes that's it — it needs something to set it aside from the rest. Honestly, it was otherwise faultless and I feel guilty for criticizing; you should definitely give it a try. I'll be back and I'll update my review accordingly.

Wonderful pub and room! We stayed one night here and wish we could have stayed longer! Dinner and breakfast was delicious, but the staff were even better! So polite, kind, and helpful with what to see in the area. We also had our dog with us and they wonderful with her. Couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone!

Stayed here while walking South Downs way. Room was comfy, nice range of options for breakfast. Dinner seemed pricey given the quality and portion size.

Lovely pub in a lovely little village. Very good quality roast with great quality ingredients. Service was swift and polite. Worth booking ahead of your arrival on a Sunday.

Spent from 10 hours in the pub eating both lunch and dinner as I was catching up with a friend I had not seen in twenty years. The food was fantastic, cooked to perfection: the pork belly melted in my mouth. But the staff were out of this world. Very friendly and chatty when engaged in conversation but when I was deep in conversation with my friend they were respectful and didn't interrupt. However, they went above and beyond when we decided to get a room so we could have a drink. They were fully booked so they phoned b&bs for us, and even went next door to one to knock on their door, but alas all were full. So they then offered to drive us to the ones slightly further out as they said it sometimes hard to get a taxi there! But again those places were booked. So in the end the let me use there computer to book a premier Inn! Had a lovely time that day and it will be long remembered, and that is in no small part down to the kindness and generosity of the staff who would be a credit to any organisation. Highly recommended.

One of the best Sunday roasts I have every tasted. And I usually avoid a Sunday Roast because they are so generic. I travelled for a hour to try this place and I would do that again.

Old fashioned service, old fashioned Inn with good food and wood fire in January. Comfortable and an off road car park.

Seven of us stayed there for two nights and were treated like lords. Fantastic staff fantastic food. It felt like we were family. Cannot recommend this place enough. Brilliant, welcoming and just lovely. Thanks Emma and all of the lovely staff.

Great Sunday roast and were happy to accommodate my big (quite wet) Labradoodle and fuss over him which was good.

Service was excellent. Not pushy, very helpful, amiable. The Badger's beer was perfect. What made it so special was the batter on the haddock, sublime. Thanks and see you again.

We were camping at a nearby campsite and fancied a meal out with our dogs. The pub and staff were able to accommodate 5 adults, 2 Labradors and a cocker spaniel. The food was lovely and the service was excellent. When we come back to the area we will almost certainly return here.

Pricey but you get what you pay for. Not for those on a budget but definitely a great place for those willing to spend the extra money.

Nicer than average food in a pretty village. But do not stay here under any circumstances. The Bar manager is the rudest man I have ever met & Ye Old George is really only happy to sell food & beer. They are not interested in the guest needs & lock the doors between 3.00 & 6.00 pm & after midnight therefore giving no access to the rooms if you venture out. Our daughters honeymoon night was ruined as our wedding party was locking out at midnight & were unable to gain access for 20 minutes, left stranded in the car park. We had booking 6 rooms over 2 nights, had 3 meals spending in excess of £750. No apology was offered from either the bar manager or the owners. (with the exception Becky the only nice staff member) The owner admitted the same issue had arisen earlier in the year with another wedding party who had to resort to breaking in to get back to their rooms. Guests are treated as & I quote "Townies" and are an unwelcome inconvenience if they deem to leave the premises. I have never posted a bad review before but Ye Olde George has treated us & others appallingly with absolutely no remorse.

Lovely country pub. Nice food menu (gastro) and good drink selection. Somewhere you can take the family. Very popular so booking is recommended if eating.

Really lovely place to stay or eat. Perfect for the South Downs Way. Comfy and spacious rooms, good service and great food. Only minor complaint is how busy the restaurant was but that's a side effect of good food. Highly recommended.

Very rude staff when visited. Sat down at a table that didn't have a "reserved" sign on, waitress came over and told us rudely that we couldn't sit there because it was reserved. She left and came back telling us we could only sit at the next table, which had a reserved sign on it. She then said it was bar service only, we asked about menus and was told there were on the other side of the pub, she then left. After getting our own menus we ordered at the bar. Lot of their groups then came in and received full table service. Food wasn't great considering how much it cost. Would have been nice if we had be treated nicely. We didn't expected to be waited on hand and foot but as said considering how much the meal cost the service should have been better. It as clear that as group of 21 year olds we were not welcome.

Dog friendly East Meon is a lovely little village only a short walk away from Meon springs which was where we were staying.

We found ye old George by accident, decided to stop for lunch, The food was outstanding, the bar is dog friendly, the staff welcoming And kind. We will definitely return again, beautiful!
