Popped in for Sunday Lunch and wasn’t disappointed, cooked to perfection and ample portions. All food reasonably priced, welcoming, helpful, friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

One of the best roasts we’ve had in a very long time, all the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming! We will be back!

Very nice atmosphere friendly staff, very clean, we wanted a traditional pub lunch, but was mainly pizza, however it was beautiful food would definitely return.

I went on Friday 7th Feb for the first time and had the best vegan burger I've ever had in my life! It was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to visit again :-D.

I’ve stayed at The Squirrel a couple of times now with Jo my girlfriend & on both occasions we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the range of fine wines & lagers, the incredible food (the chilli sauce is to die for! ) through to the decor, surroundings & incredibly friendly staff, this pub has it all! I can’t recommend this place highly enough! We are booked in to stay later this month & I can’t wait to get back to this little pond of tranquility! Keep up the good work Paul! Maybe one day I’ll bring the Aprillia down & show you a real bike!

Held my 60th here on Saturday 27/7/19. Superb evening, incredible food in stunning surroundings with Paul, Gwyneth and all the front and back of house staff going the extra mile to help put on a great night of dining, dancing & laughing.
You have to try The Squirrel for its lovely setting, relaxing atmosphere and great food.

Lovely pub and nicely decorated, however unfortunately that’s where it ends. A reasonable pint of Doom Bar. Food is very average pub grub. The manager/owner did try to go above and beyond, trying rectify the fact the roast beef was too rare for my partners liking. Unfortunately won’t be back.

Fantastic lovely place. Quiet and friendly atmosphere great food and customer service just cannot be faulted at all. The cottages are lovely and comfortable a great retreat from everyday life. 5 star experience.

My family and I stop at the Squirrel inn pub for a roast dinner. We wish we hadn’t, the food was disgraceful, cold, re heated potatoes and raw parsnips. The service was poor, as after the food was served to us, no one bothered to come out to check if everything was ok or if needed anything else! Didn’t come to ask if we would like dessert! When we went to pay the bill we meantioned how displeased we were with the food, the lady could only say (I’m sorry you feel that way) absolutely appalling! Customer service! Will never go back there and would definitely not recommend.

Turning up late on a quiet Monday evening we did not have any great expectations. We were pleasantly surprised at the very friendly welcome, fast service and truly excellent meal. Calves liver cooked just how we like it & presented with yummy accompaniments. We will definitely be back — this is a real hidden gem.

I Visited The Squirrel with my mum this evening. Such a stunning place and staff extremely friendly! Our meal was absolutly perfect! We are really looking forward to returning, espeshally looking forward to some summer evenings to enjoy their outdoor space! Added to my list of favourites!

Excellent food, genuinely friendly service! It's been at least a couple of years since my wife and I last visited The Squirrel and we certainly won't be waiting too long before going back again. We decided to drop in without a reservation or any clue what the food or service was like. We were utterly impressed to say the least! My wife had the burger and I went for the monkfish. Our food arrived promptly, was piping hot and delicious.

This pub has everything right in my opinion. Good atmosphere with separate dining and drinking areas. Superb food at reasonable prices, good beer selection which is well looked after and friendly service too… whats not to like!

A brilliant pub with very friendly staff, amazing food and a lovely ambiance. I would very highly recommend this pub and think it should have 5 Michelin star. Ate there on Christmas Day and without a word of a lie it was the best meal I had had anywhere last year. Went again last week and I can honestly say that I doubt that any restaurant &/ hotel will come close! If I could I would give it 10 stars.

Stayed in a rather chilly single bedded ensuite room. No frills but it was clean and the breakfast was really good. Very convenient location just of the A3. Decent value for money.

Superb food and good beer. Had a Christmas dinner with friends. All very well cooked and presented. Also had a really nice meal here in the summer. Recommended.

Amazing pub, wonderful staff and very tasty food. Family friendly and very accommodating, going that extra mile. Will definitely be visiting more often for special occasions/family gatherings.

I've stayed on several occasions when taking my dog to Fitzpatricks.
The rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable. It's a very charming building, not a boring travel lodge.
Because I've travelled a long way, its always late when I arrive. I've been met with very friendly and helpful staff, who can't do enough for you.
The breakfasts are amazing and the room and food prices are very reasonable.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else and highly recommend it.

Excellent — We booked the Conservatory for a large family party and can not fault the service. The place is beautiful, really conveniently located, right by the A3 but really quiet and unspoilt. We spent the whole afternoon with the kids, playing in the garden and couldn't hear or see the road. The service, as I say was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and the staff are really friendly. We arrived late and various members of our party were even later due to traffic coming out of London, but they managed to get all the right food out, seamlessly and it was all beautifully cooked. We ended up being a party of 18 and everything was spot on. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend The Squirrel to anyone looking for a lovely, genuine British Country pub with a friendly atmosphere and a great garden with a large play area.

I booked here because it's a dog friendly hotel. I'm really pleased I did. It's spotlessly clean, convenient and very well priced. The staff are all friendly and helpful and food is excellent. I've had to come to the area on three occasions and have booked here each time and will again if I have to come back. It's an old, quaint building, lots of character, so don't expect the usual soulless premier inn!

Convenient for Guilford. Great price rooms. Pub with good food.

We went to a wedding here on Fri 25th August. It was a perfect day. The food was perfect we had the bbq and buffet it was all fresh cooked and delicious. We were so impressed we went back tonite 29th to celebrate an 80th and GCSE results again amazing food friendly staff all perfect. Paul and staff well done my new fave pub xx.

Excellent burger, in my top five of all time. Paired with a stowford press on tap, I had an excellent time.

Would just like to say what a lovely family meal we had at The Squirrel last night!
We were given a lovely table, our waiter Louis was fabulous and the food was incredible!
The pub has been revamped and looked good with a nice atmosphere.
We all had a range of dishes and agreed it's a fantastic menu. I hadn't eaten at The Squirrel for a long time but will definitely be back soon.

Cracking pub with a great selection of drinks and a very welcoming bar team. Well worth a visit.

Wifi doesn't reach as far as the rooms, which is disappointing. Staff were nice. I didn't eat there, but menu looked good.

Great pub with high quality food. Great for kids with settings and slide in garden with plenty of room to run around.

Sunday Roast would have been beautiful if it hadn't been for roast potatoes and yorkshires which were hard and dry. Deserts were lovely and Ale was good. The price was steep considering parts of the meal had clearly been cooked long before we arrived.

A fantastic burger with deep fried Camembert, friendly staff and ambiance. Plus chocolate brownie to die for.

Coming home from a traumatic day, we decided to stop for lunch. Not only did we find helpful staff, but they listened to us, and in this busy world you don't come across that very often so it was appreciated. We don't normally like to stop at pub/restaurants because they are very often a disappointment, but I have to say the food that we had was really top notch, we didn't have to wait for long and it was well presented and delicious, the puddings were out of this world and the portion sizes was good enough to leave us feeling pleasantly full.
