A BIG Thank You for being helpful and patient with us & our car issue! And thanks to the super nice guy who gave me a lift to sort it out (in the bell tents, forgot your name sorry)! It was the perfect place for a couple of nights for a family in our campervan… very close to Rye, beautiful setting, cleanest facilities and site we’ve stayed in, small enough for kids to quickly make friends, perfect hosts. We will become regulars!

Went camping last week with the family, 3 of us and an active springer. Had a tremendous time. All families and couples, we’d never met anyone prior, were friendly and fun. Great site with great happy owners. Will return and certainly recommend 5 ⭐️

We loved our stay at the Hare and Hounds, we were made to feel very welcome. The chalet was so sweet and very clean. It had all the amenities you would need and more. We enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast and were able to help ourselves to toast, cereal and juices.
We recommend it and would come again.

A wonderful campsite. Really family friendly and peaceful. We stayed in a bell tent and everything you need had been carefully considered to make it an easy and comfortable stay. Can’t wait to visit again!

The Shepherd’s Hut: Very compact, very bijoux & very, very perfect! A cosy, tastefully presented home from home at the bottom of a camping field in beautiful countryside. A quirky idea that works so well! There’s a gorgeous pub just a 15 minute walk into Peasemarsh or a 5 minute drive to Rye with all its eateries. Alternatively stay in & cook on the 2 point hob & microwave. Lots of information given by really friendly & attentive owners. Highly recommend for a romantic, quiet getaway.

Lovely place with the great owners. Clean and tidy. Reasonable price. Pitches quite small and close to the road. But many things to explore around. Would recommend.

Wonderful campsite ran by a friendly family. Warm welcome and plenty of information provided about site and surrounding area. Facilities are brilliant such as the fridge/freezer, microwave and phone charging points (I think this is going above and beyond the usual! ). Toilets and showers very clean. Little shop on site so handy and such a nice touch. Lovely pub a short walk away too! We booked another night because we liked it so much. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you x.

It's our first night at the Hare & Hounds. We arrived to a lovely warm (and organised) welcome. What a beautiful and quiet site, everything is laid out well to cater for everything you could want, whilst also helping care for the site. They have a little shop which this evening is being manned (or womaned) by a pair of little angels. There is even a communal fridge freezer (with labels and a sharpie) as well as a microwave and phone charge points (amazing). Just grabbed a shower in a lovely modern and clean block. I can honestly say, that if we weren't on a touring holiday, we would have happily spent more time here. A lot of sites could do with visiting here and seeing the level of not only customer care, but value for money.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The Shepherd's Hut was idyllic; cosy, clean and very comfortable. The owners couldn't have been nicer and really welcomed us and our pup.

My husband booked this for us, so what can I say … the man did very good! We stayed in willow, a very comfortable bed and all the facilities were lovely, breakfast in the morning was just cooked to perfection, nice hot plates too. Harriet was very friendly and informative about the surrounding area. If we go to Rye again, we would definitely be booking here again. Thankyou Harriet for the warm welcome after traveling.

Relaxing site small shop on site but located near supermarket. Toilets and shower facilities available which is a definite plus… bus stop located outside though be aware of last bus back. :)

Really great B&B, very friendly owner, great breakfast, and beautiful rooms. Very happy with our stay here, beautiful area.

Brilliant location and very friendly owner. Lovely and well maintained site, has plugs for phone charging, fridge, freezer (for freezer blocks), sink area and showers. I'd recommend hiring a fire basket as it gets cold at night. Close to some great pubs and a lovely hotel for afternoon tea. There's a lovely country walk into Rye, close to Camber Sands and a couple of small supermarkets (well stocked CoOp nearby). Would definitely visit again.

Nice basic site for campervan or tent. Other guests were quiet and respectful and the pitches were generally spacious and flat. Facilities were fairly rustic but did the job and the shower was nice and hot. The owners were very welcoming and have a little shop for essentials in the morning. Loses a star as the road is a bit noisy, but we sleep with earplugs so weren't really affected.

As everyone mentioned — superb site and hosts and under priced. One of the Best I have been. The only slight problem was a bit to close to main road. The roads in area are loved by sport bikers so don't get surprised when one of those idiots will pass by full speed without exaust in the middle of the night.

Stayed in the Shepard's Hut, had a lovely stay, we'll definitely be coming back. Harriet & Ben our lovely host and gave a warm welcome on arrival. We will be rebooking for August but trying out the Bell Tents.

We stayed for two nights here. The area is nice and got gated parking. Owner is super friendly and caring, breakfast was great, the room is very comfortable and spacious.

Camped here for the night. Owner was very friendly and facilities were basic but great. Would deffo stay here again.

I camped for one night here with friends. It was a lovely site with a very relaxed attitude. The Oak pub up the road served excellent food before we came back to drink beer and sit by the fire into the night. A fantastic time had by all.

We had such a great first family camping trip here lively site lots of space between pitches. Lovely owners too.

We stayed at the B&B rather than the campsite. The accommodation is lovely and Heather's breakfast was great — special call out for the bacon, which was delicious.

Having spent the week in the campsite here, I can say it's a lovely looking and well maintained site with the owners making themselves available to help when you need them. They supply Braziers and sell wood from their site shop which is great. Just a bit of a shame the road is so close and so busy — The 50 mile an hour limit makes for dangerous exits.

Nicest place and nicest hosts. We stayed in one of the cabins and was heavenly — everything you could want for a weekend away.

Stayed overnight for one night only. Had a lovely double room which was very clean and well kept with the usual TV and drink making facilities. The owners were very friendly and polite. Had a great night's sleep and a fantastic fried breakfast in the morning. The B&B is a couple of miles from the centre of rye. Would thoroughly recommend for a reasonably priced stay.

Absolutely lovely place. Wonderful views, amazing hospitality the lady is a delight, smiley and polite. Her cooking is awesome too, one of the best breakfasts I've had.

This is mainly a campsite and B&B currently and the pub, in particular, no longer exists. The campsite is in a pleasant location a ten-minute drive from Rye. Camping comprises two medium-sized fields so it's not a big site and it feels friendlier for it. The staff are cheery and helpful. There's a neat little shop/cafe on site, built in a caravan, with decent coffee, open in the mornings and evenings. The toilets and showers are all fine with only a short wait occasionally at busy times. The site is enclosed with a gate kept closed at all times, so it feels like a safe place for children. As a campsite it doesn't feel overdone and is a relaxed, family-friendly balance between convenience and solitude. Fires and BBQs are permitted as long as they are off-ground. There's a road located a little too nearby for absolute peace and quiet, but fortunately it's not very busy, and otherwise the location is nice, surrounded by bushy hills and farms.

We had a really lovely time at the Hare & Hounds, Harriet and Ben couldn't have been better hosts. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Slept so well found it very difficult to get up in the morning. Harriet cooked a delicious breakfast, including some yummy local sausages! We would highly recommend and will definitely be going back soon!

Great little gem of a campsite with lovely owners, Campfires allowed, pub up the road a fantastic weekend had by all.

Camped here with my girlfriend. Very warm welcome from the new owners. Nice clean campsite with fresh showers. Camp fire allowed from supplied burner. Pub is just up the road and a supermarket was 30mins walk. Talking to the owners they are looking to add a small shop this summer.

Great all around Service and Prices. The lady O'Shea and myself were on holiday at a near by cottage. And decided to have a bite out. With the pub not far away we decided to stop here. The patron was by himself and was rather busy. He was gracious and very kind. The atmosphere was heartwarming and rustic. We are very impressed with the pub and will be back for another tasty lunch and a guiness. Lord and Lady O'Shea.

After deciding to take my girlfriend on a horse-ride for her birthday, I contact a local riding-school (which were fantastic by the way! ). We organised to take a hack out to the pub, stay for a meal and then return to the school. The pub were contacted in advance and knew we were coming with the horses. We arrived, the vehicle the horses were to be tethered to arrived and so we headed inside to order. We (myself, my girlfriend and her parents) ordered a drink and the riding instructor followed suit. We were informed that no glass is allowed outside of the bar — understandable. The instructor took some drinks outside — note she was served in glass containers, even though she had to tend to the horses! The landlord saw her go out to check on the horses, and confiscated her drinks and asked her and her associate to leave. WE were also asked to leave. They knew we were here on occasion, however what I assume to be the owner behaved in a very snooty and rude fashion. Could he of not simply asked the instructor to return inside? Her intention was not to evade the limitation on where to drink, but simply to check on the horses. While the prices in this pub are great for the area, the staff are not. If you have any plans similar to these (ok, there may not be that many people planning anything like this! ) then I would NOT recommend this pub. I myself after this experience will never be returning to this pub — it was infact my first, and last visit.
