Cheap and cheerful. Very clean and vet comfortable.

No welcome, at all, no breakfast available, and H & S hazard in our room.

Lovely old hotel. Rooms clean and spacious. Staff helpful and friendly.

Good location for the abbey. No catering at the hotel at this time due to change of ownership. This is an old building with history if you want a holiday Inn style hotel don't stay here.

Very disappointed. We stayed here after a long walk from Hastings but didn't sleep well. Bed was too soft and uncomfortable, we kept "falling" towards the middle. Shower didn't have enough pressure. Bathroom door didn't close properly and kept openi g.

Excellent reception service, large comfortable family room, highly recommended. Note, no bar or restaurant, no food service.

Room was comfortable, with sister bathroom and plenty of tea and coffee supplied. Check out was by simply placing a key into a box which is convenient if you are in a hurry it be to leave very early. Would stay again if in the area.

Served it's purpose. Lovely old building. Friendly. Clean. Loved the winding staircase. We liked it.

Attic room. Does it job… Although needs attention in areas. Shame. No breakfast facilities but perfectly good bakers/tearoom across the road… open early. Staff plesent. On arrival. Would use again.

Was nice enough for the one night we was there spacious had 2 kids 2 adults bathroom little dirty but in hard to get places. Road was loud and thin windows. Overall nice place would stay again.

I stayed for 1 night in March, booked a single room for 35 pounds, good price. But as it wasn't busy I was automatically upgraded to a lovely freshly decorated double. Thank you! The hotel is very old, and the owners are in the process of refurbishing every room. I really enjoyed stay, would have been Happy to Stay for longer. The Staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely Stay again.

Adored the staircase up to the room although the lights didnt compliment them the room was a delight as had booked superior but double booked olga phoned to say four poster was available and im pleased she did the four poster room was super with the extra surprise when you lay down on the bed all very clean and tidy lovely ensuite fluffy towels breakfast plentiful lots of choices for one night stay was super would liked to have taken the bed home with me thank you all for perfect stay and a car park was a bonus.

The room was basic, but sufficient. We had one of the attic rooms, and an over-bath shower (with no curtain or screen, which was awkward). One crucial problem — we ordered a gluten free breakfast for my wife. But we never felt entirely sure that the staff understood gluten free requirements — the bit I find annoying is that we made contact to specifically request gluten free sausages for the breakfast before arriving, and this still wasn't catered for. However, they did provide gluten free bread, to their credit. Not the best scenario though because you don't feel you can trust their judgments! The decor was very tired in some places (plaster off walls), but better in others (new carpets). However, great location and an excellent price. If you don't have complex dietary requirements and are looking for no frills, then certainly consider staying here.

It is a good hotel. Hot baths and old fashioned and in the centre of. Town. Indian staff are friendly and you can bargain.

Arrived and reception was closed, if you could call it a reception. Hotel facilities, which consist of toilets are shared with a resturant. No staff around. There is no hotel to speak of, just a spiral staircase. Not particularly clean or presenatable. Impression so poor decided not to even stay the night.
