Small cosy hostel near Eastborn old town. You can be there by bus very conveniently as bus stop is just next to it. Only negative thing is check-in time as from 5 PM to 9PM. Other than that overally great hostel. Also you can enjoy the brilliant kitchen and cook yourself. You can walk to burling gap by walk which takes 1 hour time depend on your speed.

Despite staff's best efforts, this hostel is well below the YHA standard I'm used to. In 30 years of hostelling I've seen many improvements, but I'd sooner stay in the hostels of the 80's than here. The check-in was done with the utmost professionalism and she was really friendly. It was a great start. But unfortunately the ambience and clientelle turned the whole experience sour. We were staying at the hostel for a walking weekend in the South Downs, and presumed a similar demographic. Instead, the ambience here was of an old people's home. The lounge area was reminiscent of a doctors waiting room (old people nodding off in rows of seats, a TV on, a few magazines and everyone ignoring each other) and our five dorm mates appeared to be all a fair bit older than us, and being mostly obese, unable to prevent themselves from snoring. I certainly didn't get a 'youth'ful hostel experience here: Apart from the two hours sleep I got, I spent the night observing old men struggling to get their pajamas on/off, farting (the room reeked! ), snoring, creaking the beds, and just… 'wandering around' in the dead of night (one guy didn't start his bedroom preparation until 0300hrs! ) The showers and toilets here are all ensuite, meaning that if 'yours' is in use there may well be several others available but you can't use them because they're in someone else's dorm. It really is the stupidest type of resource management I can imagine.

Clean and new looking hostel with friendly staff and helpful staff. But no restaurant or bar so no hub to the yha. Also showers are very weak.

We hired YHA Eastbourne for our getaway conference inb March. The hostel is very functional, was very clean when we arrived and the facilities were good.

Decent hostel for a days hiking the South Downs. You know what you're getting with a YHA and in my experience they never disappoint.

This is a modern youth hostel a fair walk up a hill from town. On entry there is a large communal room with a TV and drinks in which your food can be eaten and a decent sized kitchen with a lot of storage space, freezer, microwaves and fridges. There is a mixture of male, female and family rooms and washing facilities too. It is a clean and tidy hostel withfriendoy, knowledgeable staff and free parking next door to it. L.

Smaller than some Youth Hostels. Rooms sleep 2 to 8. Each room is en suite.

We had exclusive hire for a relaxed work retreat, was really nice and well equipped. Toys, high chairs and a cot for babies/toddlers too.

The yha was OK. Not luxurious, but for the price it was good.

Nicely located on the outskirts of the town, at the top of a large hill. Truly incredible things, the details of which are best kept secret, have occurred in this place.

Great country side YHA. Very modern. Small kitchen. One sitting and eating area. Shared parking.

Very good, but close to the road that makes the stay a bit noisy when one is on the wrong side.

This place is very great. Pleasant stuff and room clean and quiet with 4 people. Clean kitchen, dry room and morning drinks for £1. I recommend.

Quiet place 10 Min by bike from Eastbourne. The location is amazing, immersed in the woods literally on the road to Eastbourne. Separated dormitories for men and women. It is really clean for being a hostel. The only negative note is the Wi-Fi that is really slow, first it is very hard to connect and when you finally connect is very slow. For all the rest, I will recommend this hostel to anyone who is looking for a proper rest.

Small and quiet with standard yha facilities. The lock up bike shed was appreciated.

Delightful modern small hostel well kept and run by Susan … had past it many times on the bus… many times I thought to stay there… eventually I did … wasnt disappointed one bit … the location also great on the edge of Eastbourne with the South Downs the other side… a bus stop outside too … great for foot travellers … followed the paths on both sides of the road … stunning foliage flowers on the Jubilee Way … open rolling countryside along the South Downs Way and across country to East Dean.

The venue has been hired it for a private event and is really well equipped. Clean and good standard. Nice walk up to the golf course with great views over Eastbourne. Lovely surroundings. East dean is a lovely area.

Such a friendly lady, made me a lovely cuppa before our hike and fun sign in the loo; great place & nice rooms we'll all be back thankyou 8-) Xox.

Great hostel. Great staff. Great kitchen — can play masterchef. We had private room for 4 people for cca. 80€. Open till 10:00 and after 17:00.

A clean friendly YHA located on the edge of town. We had a very warm welcome from reception and was given an 'up grade' due to the hostel being quiet. A clean tidy room with ensuite shower and toilet. Large outdoor space for families to play / picnics in good weather. Local amenities available with within a miles walk. A great budget base to explore the locality from.

Don't even bother going there! It is not worth the stress is causes for too many dysfuncional reasons!
Even though the national park is amazing this YHA is worst than a Fawlty Towers nightmare sketch!
