Great food, friendly staff! Love it there and soft play for the kids!

Lovely ambience, friendly and accommodating staff. The food was very good. The pub is being re furbished at the moment to a very high standard and the upstairs accommodation with accompanying en-suites are high spec in keeping with the rest of the building, all of which adds to the cosy rustic feel. Well worth a visit.

Has a lovely meal at the pub. Food was excellent and great service too.

Went here with a group of ten other people. Food was excellent, there was a lot of different orders. Although it was quite busy we all got served at the same time food was all cooked fresh and was hot on arrival. Also the service was good staff very helpful and polite.

Ideal for families, with a lovely indoor play area for young children. The Sunday Lunch was really tasty and the califlower flower cheese was lovely.

It’s a lovely place great food and great atmosphere lovely people made me Feel welcome they helped me with everything I wanted x such lovely people.

Shocking service, rude staff, and terrible food.
£3 for a jug of tasteless squash. Even the 4 year old took one sip and announced ‘yuck’.
Overcharged on one bill and was told one of the kids meals had been charged on two bills. No apology.
Once rectified, waitress asked if we could check everything on the bill because she was going home in 10 minutes.
Gave this feedback to bar staff, got a shrug and was told, “Don’t know what to say”
No apology at all.

Best meal we’ve had in a very long time. First time eating here and will definitely be back. We had a table of 10 and everyone’s meal was perfect! Fresh, local produce cooked to perfection. Staff were so friendly, service was quick and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the play areas. Amazing value for money. We’ll be back again.

Just popped in on the off chance and was pleasantly surprised. It has been recently done out and is very nice. We had 3 adult meals and one child’s meal. Food was excellent, quality very good and real chips! Good size portions for everyone. There was plenty for the grandkids to do, outside playground and field and an indoor play area (extra Charge) but discounted if you have food.
Will definitely be calling again!

1 staff member was very rude, has no customer service whatsoever. Food was edible but not the best. Wont be eating here again. Waitresses were very accommodating they worked very hard cant say the same for the lazy and rude bar staff.

Have always enjoyed coming here with the kids. Although on this occasion our food took over 40 minutes to arrive, on a very quiet mid week late afternoon. Unfortunately the steak in the baguette was very cold and over cooked and the child's chicken Korma was certainly not Korma it was very spicy and bright orange and once it was replaced was slightly less spicy, my guess was the addition of coconut milk!
Whilst my daughter ate her replacement meal, our table was cleared by a man with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Clearing tables whilst smoking is unprofessional but when you are still eating. Really?!?!?!
So disappointed.

Do not stay here if you have a buy a gift voucher… you will be treated like an inconvenience. We were met with distaste which continued throughout our stay and it’s not like the place is nice enough to warrent such snobbery. Didn’t eat here except breakfast once (which was poor) as we felt so unwelcome. Would not recommend.

Lovely place and good play area for the kids staff however are quite rude and unfriendly I have been here a few times the staff havnt got any better.

Very disappointed, on arrival said to the barman we've got a table of 16 booked, he pointed to someone opposite us saying we need to see him, him, was looking directly at us waiting for us to walk over (he wasn't stood at an official desk just by the desserts) Not particularly welcoming, starters were fine but roast beef like shoe leather, told the waitress who said she'd tell the chef & … nothing. Not very hot either although the waitresses were lovely.

Much better since having a refurb. A lot more space in playbarn. Seating is much better now. My kids enjoyed playing on the new slides so smiles all around.

This is a lovely inn with brilliant staff, I stayed for two nights in one of the rooms which are high quality, modern and comfortable. They serve a lovely breakfast in the morning and a large range of meals in the afternoon and evening.

Helen is the hostess with the mostest! Love this place, can relax for a drink while the kids play inside or outside. Good value for money.

Food is lovely, some of the staff are rude. The play barn is in need of a good clean. The food is good value but the Play barn isn't. As it is often unmanned, the bigger kids take over the play barn and the toddlers area.

The food is always great home cooked pub food. Service is friendly and welcoming. They have wide range of drinks on offer including an extensive wine list.

Arrived just as kitchen was closing but were very accommodating. We were seated quickly and our food soon arrived. Decent pub food at a reasonable price and very friendly staff, what more do you want. Also lovely sunset while we were there.

We have been here two times and we have got to say we love the place. There is a good size car park and outside there is a children's outdoor play/park zone. Inside the pub it's split into different rooms, there is a indoor soft playzone with a counter selling sweets & drinks etc. There is also seating in there with tables so you can eat in there if it suits you better than going into the main restaurant & bar. This is great especially as you can keep an eye on the kids. In the main restaurant there is a good amount of seating & tables. The bar has lots of choice of drinks including a coffee machine & syrups etc. The menu has a good choice from pub classics to steaks & burgers in fact the T Bone steak is fantastic. The kids meals also have a good variety of choices. The food we have had on both occasions has been really good quality and the service 5*. In fact we loved it that much we have booked our daughters 2nd birthday there.

Disappointed was a grey hair on my table as soon as we were seated which sort of spoiled things straight away to be honest. I had the lasagne, the chips salad and coleslaw was pretty good but the actual lasagne was a microwave job which just made it a gooey mess, the meat had the colour and taste of corned beef, not saying it was but again wasn't a good experience. My wife had the meat loaf which was so salty she could only stomach half of it. The staff were all of a ripe old age, and it pained me to watch them rushing around, as was the landlord who came across as a nice chap but again was running around like a headless chicken. I say I'm disappointed because I feel with a few staffing changes (waiting staff) and a maybe putting in a bit more passion in the kitchen the place could be booming! Guys focus a little more on quality and not so much on quantity. This could be a great venue, at the moment it's tired. I hope you take this review as a constructive one.

Normally lovely — but today they had a function on so everyday clients were ignored. They need to either close for functions or hire more staff. We gave up waiting to be seated — we were ignored by the waitress. We had to ask for menus and had 3 go's at trying to order, again being ignored by the waitress. Looking around others were waiting too. We tried to order but was told there would be a delay because of the function. We walked out … functions are more important to them so phone before going there.

A great country pub with a good traditional menu, very popular with local people. I visit with the family at least twice a year and all enjoy it.

Excellent staff, great food, very nice rooms. 10 min outside of Cardiff near the airport, but well worth the drive for the home cooked food, cozy atmosphere and clean modern rooms if you are looking for a quiet place to stay.

The staff were fab, the food was delicious (we particularly enjoyed the pate-stuffed mushrooms that were breaded and fried, locally sourced steak, excellent Balti curry, freshly baked scones, good coffee and a hot, hearty breakfast every morning) and the accommodation was cosy and comfortable. Richard (the owner), Dryw (one of the bar staff), Andrew (one of the bar staff), Helen (one of the waitresses) and Tom (the chef) in particular were so friendly and accommodating. We would love to come back again one day. We arrived as customers and we feel like we'd left having made new friends. Thank you for your tremendous hospitality.

Wanted somewhere to take kids and this place was great really good play area friendly staff looks a bit shabby outside but really good inside.
