Really busy and although we hadn’t booked they managed to find a table for an hour slot, starters were fantastic, cost reasonable.

We got married here on the 26th June and although we were a very small wedding we were completely blown away with their hospitality. They really couldn’t do enough for us. The food was in abundance and out of this world. I would highly recommend them.

We recently stayed with you. What can I say but excellent service nothing was too much trouble. Both my self and husband struggle mobility wise and we were moved from second floor to first luggage taken to our beautiful room by very helpful staff. First night in restaurant my husband and I were chatting he just fancied a steak which wasn’t on the menu yet the waitress heard us chatting came up and said “leave it with me sir”. Next we know that chef will cook steak for hubby. Food excellent. Staff fantastic. Everyone and everything was just perfect for our first holiday since covid. We will be back 😊

Lovely hotel, however before I booked the hotel I asked about dairy free options and was advised there was a separate dairy free menu. We booked based on this. However, when we arrived and sat down for dinner we were told there was no dairy free options and the chef was too busy to make anything different or to adapt something already on the menu. Very disappointing evening, will not be returning to this hotel.

We had our wedding reception at The Cawdor and we had a fantastic experience. The service and organisation on the day was perfect and the communication with the wedding planner Georgina leading up to the day was excellent (liaising with us and the vendors e. G. The florist). A huge thank you to Georgina, Gav and all the team who were so helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Bridal Suite and the room is exceptional. Not only is it a huge room with amazing facilities, the view when you wake up in the morning is lovely. We've also previously stayed in one of their "Excellent" rooms and had a lovely stay then too. Every meal we've had at The Cawdor has been delicious. Gav allowed us to choose whatever we wanted for our wedding breakfast, not restricting us to the more traditional options, and was really accommodating for our guests with special dietary requirements. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Llandeilo and to any couples who are looking to get married in the area.

Fantastic hotel, the staff are amazing, so friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious and very reasonably priced, the rooms were clean and tidy and spacious enough, there was parking on site located at the rear, overall I would recommend this place for a weekend stay.

Fantastic, friendly staff, food and drink was great and a lovely environment that made you feel welcome, safe and a pleasure to be back out supporting the Welsh aconomy. I would highly recommend a visit, the hotel rooms look amazing.

We stayed for one night, for my partners birthday. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite and it was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much and didn’t want to leave. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the food was lovely :) Can’t wait to return.

Really enjoyed our 5 course valentine's evening meal and stay, food was amazing, really tasty and great quality of ingredients used, staff were professional and friendly, room was amazing, like an apartment, sofa and king size bed, very comfortable thank you so much for a great experience.

An amazing meal and night away for our anniversary. The Cawdor and staff made it a magical weekend with outstanding accommodation and lovely food. We only live 15mins away but had heard great things, so decided to book for the night. We will definitely be back ❤️

Fabulous meal with lovely friendly staff who kept on smiling even though the weather conditions last night were awful. The outside Covid safe courtyard was lovely and warm and had a lovely atmosphere. The food was outstanding and we cant wait to go back soon.

I ordered a burger box, the food was really tasty and good quality. The price I paid was the same as if I was eating in the restaurant and the food was cooked for me, I feel the price should be adjusted based on the fact we cook at home so no service charge etc.

The Cawdor has amazing food I've been many times the place is lovely so is the interior and staff and obviously the food — during these tough times of covid they have on offer gourmet kits to cook at home delivered for free across the Uk.

One of our favourite places to eat. Staff are always attentive and so happy to chat. Called for a late lunch today. Fish of the day with chips. Fish was beautifully cooked batter was so light and crisp, hand cut chips. Definitely recommend it.

We called in on an off chance. It was a lovely place. Really nice listed building. Staff were very professional and friendly. THIS IS THE BIG PART the food was incredible. I mean I eat out a lot. Travel fairish and both my partner and I could not fault it. Really incredible food at a sensible price. Around £10 to £15 quid for a main in the bar and worth every penny. deserts exceptional and priced low (in my opinion) £2.50 ish my partner has a new favourite. 60 miles drive for me but if she's happy, I'm happy p. Lovely staff, great place with historic pictures on the walls I know they do wonderful food, but my burger was on the greasy side and only grilled one side and I prefer a plate to eat my food off especially burger and chips.

An absolute gem of a place. Great Bar & Food, staff were all fantastic especially the night manager Morgan who looked after us all perfectly when arriving back late from a wedding.
We will definitely be coming back.

This is the third time I've visited for lunch and everytime the food has been great and staff have been lovely too.

Stacey is the best front of house in any hotel I have stayed in. Attentive, great sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble! The room was fabulous, we only nipped in on the off chance of a last minute room while touring Wales and it made our holiday. Beautiful old building that's been lovingly looked after with a perfect blend of interior design between character and modern finishes. Bed was supper comfy and the food was 10/10. Great all round value for money. To top it off we even had a few famous guests staying that were filming up the road, they were lovely and chatted to everyone in the Hotel garden. Can't recommend enough!

We had our wedding at The Cawdor on Saturday 26th May and it was the best day. The venue looked amazing and everything I had envisioned. Nothing was too much for the staff. They were very efficient and excellent service. One of our guests fell ill during the wedding breakfast and she was superbly looked after and I can’t thank you enough for that. Food served was out of this world. We have had guests telling us it was the best food they have had at a wedding. Timings were impeccable. Turning the room around from wedding breakfast ready for our evening entertainment took less than an hour so there was no hanging around with the guests. Everything ran like clock work. We can’t thank you enough for everything. A special mention also to Jake who has been there from the beginning from when we first got engaged at the hotel to various meetings and stays in between to working the full day of the wedding and still being there at 2am when we eventually called it a night! The hotel and restaurant is always warm and welcoming, but the food quality and its prices let it down. Simple burger, sounded delish on the menu… once received, was found to be an extremely minced beef patty with onions… no flavour of our beautiful local welsh beef. Extremely greasy and an appalling "house sauce".

Although they were serving food (which is difficult to find in mid-Wales) there was a very limited menu. After selecting a simple burger, the first bite was lovely, but the rest was very very greasy. The triple cooked fries we acceptable but no better than I can do in the house. Sorry but was quite disappointed.

Located in the beautiful little town of Llandeilo, this is a fantastic place to stop for a bite, sit down to dinner with family or even stay overnight in the hotel. The service was fast and friendly, the food was served quickly and very good comfort type food (I ate at the bar). Overall I had a lovely experience.

Found by chance, loved it by experience. If you stop in Llandeilo, do yourselves a favour and stop in to Cawdor. Staff was fantastic, only had a beer but drinks menu was fantastic, especially the whiskey list. Had a traditional scone, cream and jam, it was warmed up and amazing. Will definitely visit again. Great for intimate, family and small parties. Parking was close by and free.

Excellent staff, very enthusiastic and helpful. Room was comfortable but beginning to show its age. No problem though. Food at the bar was a little below par, seemed processed and average, although I have been told the restaurant is better. A good place to stay in Llandeilo.

Nice place to stay, but not if you're disabled. No lift and the car park at the rear is accessed from the hotel by steps. The front of the hotel is on the main road, so drop off and pick up can be hard. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are very comfy. No complaints about hotel, just the parking and access.

Nice place to eat with a menu that covered enough choices without being fussy. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the choices which is always welcome. It was quite quiet when we went on a Saturday night which we didn't expect. The food was served promptly and was of a very high standard for all three courses — we thoroughly enjoyed. For a place of this standard the price was very reasonable, we did only have water and a glass of wine but still very pleased with the bill. Nice place and would certainly recommend.

Fantastic Penthouse Suite, absolutely amazing. Evening meal and break wad also superb. Service by all was so friendly. Loved it.

Lovely friendly hotel. Nice food and drink selection in the gorgeous town of Llandeilo. One of the few places you can visit and not see a chain shop or establishment. The town is on the western end of the Brecon Beacons national park and has some lovely walks in the neighbouring area negating the need to drive. The western end of the Brecon Beacons Park is readily accessible for those wanting longer walks or bike ride.

What a beautiful placed to stay in the heart of the Towy Valley.
The food is something else.
Truly scrumptious locally sourced food with a great seasonal menu ranging from Welsh traditional with a modern twist, through to heartly posh nosh that would impress any avid restaurant goer.
You can even enjoy a day time light bit or a catch up drink at their lunch bar decked out old school style or their vodka bar which is as swanky and modern as any shabby chic, retro gin bar in the cities.
The rooms are beautifully designed and give homage to the buildings more traditional routes while insuring that each suit or room is to the highest modern standard. So just think stunning wooden beams and large, grand timber windows mixed with sparkling modern bathrooms suits with top of the range LED TVs with Wi-Fi.
So If you're coming to Wales to see the old castles and culture packed west Wales this town and this hotel is a no brainer and a wish list must do for any romantic get away.
… and their breakfast menu is delious!

Popped in today for coffee and a sandwich. Deeply unpleasant experience thanks to the member of staff who was extremely rude. Kept us waiting and waiting for the aforementioned sandwich, gave it mistakenly to another customer then kept us waiting and waiting for the replacement which when finally appeared was not what we ordered. Not only no apology but when we asked for a refund as we could not wait any longer was told to get out and good riddance. I was with my 80 year old mother and it was supposed to be a nice day out in Llandeilo. Mistakes happen sometimes but the attitude of the member of staff beggars belief.

Hotel itself is lovely and food was very good, albeit expensive. Every member of staff we spoke with was very friendly and helpful. Our only criticism was that our room was boiling. We turned off all radiators and opened windows but we only had one, very thiblck duvet. Our room was at the front of the hotel so a lot of road noise came in throughout the night due to the open window so all told we didn't get a great night's sleep which was a shame given everything else was so nice.

We had afternoon tea for 2 and unfortunately I was very disappointed. The scones were very dry, I couldn't even finish them. There was only a small pot of cream between 2 of us which was a tub which you would get having a cream tea for 1 in m&s. The chicken sandwich was chewy and the bread wasn't very fresh. No one came over to see whether we needed any more hot water for our tea so we only had 2 small cups each. I normally have lovely food in both the Cawdor and Morgan's so I go there for a treat. Overall a waste of money I wish I had gone to wyevale!

We had an amazing stay at Cawdor. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The food here is also wonderful and there is ample free parking around the back of the hotel. An overwhelmingly positive experience.

I really enjoy going to the Cawdor. Everything is right. Great home made good and quick service even in busy times. Quality ingredients and skilled chef and team really make eating here a fabulous experience.

Had a poor experience upon my last stay. Nice hotel, bar staff lovely however front desk service was lacking personality and a valued / welcoming feel. Probably wouldn't return after this last visit unfortunately.

Consistent standard of food but the menu never changes. Good drinks selection. Good service on the whole but seems to be a high turnover of staff. Recently refurbished but lacks decent background music.

Called in for lunch during the week with my wife and 2 young kids. Excellent choice of food available including the kids menu. Food was fab and portions were generous, I had probably the nicest toasted sandwich I've ever had. The bar/lounge area is spacious and well presented. I would definitely return and highly recommend the Cawdors for lunch in Llandeilo.

Went for lunch here. Food was very reasonably priced and pretty tasty. I had the lamb burger which was cooked perfectly. Only criticism is that the chips were slightly undercooked. I would go back.

The Cawdor was a very nice hotel and was a big surprise to us all. It was very big and nice, coming with free food and drinks, a fridge and a microwave. The beds were also very comfortable and the shower was neat as well.

Wonderful experience. A modern and clean hotel with the nicest staff and great spacious rooms. The local pub has a great offer of beers and a great menu. I definitely need to return.

Visited the Cawdor for a couple of drinks on Saturday afternoon to celebrate my mum's birthday. As always a great atmosphere and friendly service.

We had a terrific welcome. When we arrived we asked about lava bread and the receptionist immediately began ringing round to find some for us to try. We were given a lovely big room, with the biggest bed ever! Very comfortable with everything you'd expect. The cooked breakfasts were lovely, very generous portions, we asked for less the next day. We ate from the bar Tapas menu which was very nice, we had guests with children and it was no bother for the bar/waiting staff to bring us drinks out in the courtyard after we'd eaten so the children could play. The lava bread was an experience! I'm not sure I'd have it apart from when I visit this lovely part of the world again.

We did the Wednesday special which is a fixed price menu of a choice of two or three courses. We did the two course as most of the starters have pork in them. For mains we had lamb shank which came with mash, spinach and roast potatoes, and hake with risotto. Portions are good size and very tasty. Service is good and prompt. Restaurant is spacious and not too noisy. Good value for money.

My family and I had booked a table at The Cawdor last night for a very special celebration meal. When we arrived reception was occupied by a party of very “happy” revellers singing loudly. This was immediately at odds with our expectations for the night. A lady on reception noted our concern and said that they would not be going through to the dining room and so the noise levels in there would be more acceptable and suggested we go in and see which we duly did. The first impression that hit us was that of fish. Not the clean pleasant smell of cooked fresh fish, but the definite off smell of cooked fish which is way past it’s best. Both of these factors combined were sufficient for us to decide not to remain, resulting in extreme disappointment for my daughter, whose special event this was. I emailed to complain and in fairness received a phone call within the hour. The duty manager blamed the drains, which was odd as the smell was inside the dining room not out on the street. She hotly denied that anything less that fresh was never on the premises, which is odd as I have in the past dealt with the same people who supply their fish and have on numerous occasions had to reject deliveries as not being good enough. A very unsatisfactory conclusion.

Strange experience. Although the food was good, some parts even very good (even black pudding was delicious), the overall quality was negatively influence by the enormous amount of meat. Ordering regular dishes, we have got sooo much meat (400-500 gr per person), it was very hard to finish the plate. Sure, there is no law that you need to finish it all, but the standard and environment of the location was that high that there was social pressure to finish it. And that felt awkward, and problems were even emphasized by our dessert (yes, we wanted that looking at the menu! ) and the cheese platter of over 600 grams of cheese only (only 6.5 pound! ). Some minor details for improvement were to enhance the amount of vegetables, as eating meat only is not nice.

Terrible, nothing normal, just fancy food, 3/10.

Absolutely superb. Food is unbelievably good value and is of a quality that I'd not expect to find at this price point (£15 per head Christmas lunch offer). Service is very good and staff are helpful and friendly. Unhesitatingly recommended.
