Visited for a christening after party, pretty little place with a tidy, nicely decorated function room, would definitely come back again, needs better cooling for the summer months though, would suggest an air conditioner or the likes as the ceiling fan didnt cut it.

Great place to drink — busy enough to have a good atmosphere without feeling overcrowded.

Excellent place to stay, have a party, or just to socialise, very friendly.

Upsides: clean bedding and towels. Good breakfast, friendly staff doing their best. Downsides: whole place very dated, tatty, not the cleanest and in need of huge investment/ revamp. Zero sound proofing between our bedroom and the next, huge dusty cobweb between wardrobe and bed was most off-putting! Wouldn't stay there again.

Nice pub with a good function room. Buffet excellent and reasonably priced.

Stayed at the Riverside twice lately and would return whenever in the area — budget priced yet with a warm friendly welcome, clean rooms complete with selection of teas, coffee and biscuits, toiletries and ample towels. Public areas comfortable and the breakfast is amazing, good variety of cereals, juices, yoghurts etc. And the full English included the best bacon we've ever had. Would recommend to anyone. We are moving back to the area and will be going there for breakfast whenever we can. Thank you everyone at the Riverside.

Christmas party food was very good and plentiful. Dining room was set out lovely fun was had by all.

Cheap and cheerful small hotel on the edge of Monmouth town centre. Small bar. Lunch not available. No real beer. Rooms and en suite bathrooms clean and quite big. Car park.

We'd read a couple of bad reviews but were pleasantly surprised. The room (11) was very fresh and clean with everything arranged just so. The bed itself was comfortable if perhaps a bit soft but that's just a personal preference. Friendly staff and a decent room for £50.

Easy to find, good position for both motorway and town. Comfortable beds, good shower and nice breakfast. Bathroom could do with a little refurbishment.

Really friendly staff. Cheap priced rooms but the room is amazing we loved everything about it. Great location near the high street. Loved staying here everything is clean and everyone here is so lovely definitely staying here again.

Had a lovely stay the bedrooms and bathroom is spotless. The bar was lovely and cosy. The night manager Peter is a credit to the establishment would highly recommend.

I used to live close to the hotel and visited it a lot for a quick pint so I can only comment on the bar and not the rooms but the staff are friendly and when I seen visitors turn up they are very helpful.

Here for work. Staff friendly but accommodation very basic and in poor repair. Breakfast service good.
