Nothing to complain about here. Food is really good, with a very reasonably priced, and varied menu. The staff are amazing — very friendly and helpful, as are the regulars, who all made us feel so very welcome. Our room was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future. It's a pleasure to leave a well deserved 5 * review. Many thanks to all of you!

Held a private party here on Saturday, the buffet was amazing, the decorations and table lay out was 2nd to none, the bar staff was amazing and worked hard all night. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into making it a bloody goodnight xx.

Don't know what happened today, but arrived 2 40 waited an hour for food, cold when it arrived, and the cream sauce was so thin. They did deduct the cost without asking fair play but really disappointed. We only wanted a quick stop off for food and was there for 2 hours!

We went for Sunday lunch and it was lovely, meat was cooked perfectly and there was a great selection of veg to choose from plus the gravy was fab too, would definitely recommend. The staff were lovely and friendly too, we will definitely visit again 😊

Been for Sunday lunch everything very nice. Meat was lovely, veg all cooked just right. Only thing was not warm enough nice staff, I like dogs but I don't like them running around a restaurant.

Food was amazing, the staff were brilliant friendly and very helpful, great value for money, I must recommend the mixed grill it was awsome.

Because of the current COVID restrictions, we were forced to amend our Christmas plans and have our meal as a takeaway this evening. You provided 14 of us with outstanding meals and the portions were beyond compare. Order for delivery on just eat to aberdare the food was fresh boiling hot and the delivery driver was very friendly helpful and professional amazing food and will order again thank you.

A beautiful Sunday dinner delivered to our door. Everything was really tasty and plenty of it. Also ordered chocolate fudge cake for dessert and that was lovely too. Lovely friendly service, will definitely order again.

Awful service from the start. Absolutely despicable service, no one seemed to know what they were doing. Waited over 25 minutes and not even asked if we wanted a drink leave alone order food and they were not that busy. All staff had no customer service skills whatsoever. We just walked out, never will we adventure to that hell hole again. Went up the White horse last week and was absolutely amazing, take note Lamb and Flag…

We would highly recommend the Sunday lunch delivery. We ordered 2 roast dinners on Sunday and they were absolutely gorgeous; excellent service, huge portions and the gravy was DELICIOUS, definitely real gravy. All in all it was just what was required after being force fed prosecco in the Swansea prosecco festival the day before Well done the Lamb and Flag we will definitely be back for more.

Last night my wife commented on how good the Plaice was.
I sampled the Gammon and it was exceptionally tasty as were the chips & peas, cooked to perfection.
It’s been a long time since my wife and I, had enjoyed 2 totally different meals so much.

Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast great. Little loud on a night but it is a pub after all. Will stop again.

Booked for Sunday lunch for five of us. I forgot to let them know I was a vegetarian. When we queued for the carvery I asked what the vegetarian option was and was told I could have sausages, meat loaf or vegan shepherds pie. I was also told they could do vegetarian roast potatoes and gravy! Everything was perfect and the food was delicious and will definitely be going back.

Great time and good clean rooms. The evening entertainment was great and the people friendly. It was a gin festival so it was busy. I also enjoyed the breakfast. Just remember you are above a bar/ restaurant so it can be a bit louder in the evening. But for us that was part of the charm.

All staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was of a high standard. We all enjoyed our time at the Lamb & Flag.

Been here before and food was fabulous but went to have food today and I ordered the 16oz rump steak asked for it to be cooked medium to well and it came back raw put me off my food completely and the women didn’t even try to ask if we wanted anything else or money off our meal coz I didn’t eat the steak charged us full price and just smiled about it absolutely discussed won’t be eating here again.

Had dinner here after a whole day of hiking. Friendly staff, quick service. Cosy place full of local people with a great atmosphere. Huge portions and tasty food. Great value for money. Good local beers.

Stopped on the way home to Bargoed from West Wales, on Sunday 11/06/18 we normally eat at the Rock and Fountain just down the road, but the service and food we had the last time wasn’t up to standard. So we decided to try here. So glad we did, The Carvery was plentiful and very tasty, the staff and Service second to none, everyone very welcoming and friendly. The toilets were spotless. This won’t be our last visit. Well done to all at The Lamb and Flag.

Stopped for a quick drink back from Swansea. Seemed nice, a local pub with a decent selection of beers on tap. Takes card payments too.

Had lovely food at the lamb. But their delivery service for Sunday lunch is absolutely stunning… dinner in the comfort of your own home deffinitely helps cure hangovers.

Went here for mothers day meal. I was very disappointed because it was an utter shambles. After waiting for the 4 o'clock sitting we waited an extra 20 minutes to be seated although everyone else were already at their tables. Then the fun began! A Waitress took our orders for starters and desserts. Unfortunately when it came time for starters and desserts half our orders had run out. I didn'the see the point of taking orders in the first place. When we went for our carvery lots of things had already run out and not replaced. I think they need more waitresses if they want to cope with a large number of customers because they definitely couldn't cope today. I was very annoyed because we paid the same price for our meals as the people who came at 12 o'clock and 2 o'clock but had an inferior meal. I won't be returning unless they can up their game.

1st class, staff, sociality, plus wonderful meals, always a warm welcome, come see for yourself.

First time to visit last night, lovely welcome beautiful food, had the surf and turf, steak was cooked nice, waitress was fab we will be back.

Nice food. The pub has not long been taken over and the new people are looking for support. It is getting the locals back and getting more people are being attracted in. Great function room, with its own bar. The over night rooms are very clean and nicely furnished.

Recently taken over by owners of colliers food absolutely fantastic bar staff very friendly and made you welcome fairy on top of tree had us laughing brilliant idea will recommend to all definitely go back.

Couldn't get in at The Colliers for Sunday lunch and they recommended their sister pub the Lamb and Flag. I had the Lamb and my husband went for the turkey and everything was lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful, no Swede was compensated with free cauliflower cheese (winner as I hate Swede)! Veg was hot and tasty and dessert very nice too.

Spur of the moment meal after a drive back from Cardiff. We arrived just too late for the Sunday Lunch options and weren't keen on the vegetarian choice on the menu … delighted to then be offered a vegetarian sausage dinner complete with yorkshire puddings! Very tasty it was too and how accommodating of the lovely cheerful staff Thank you.

My dad and I just had lunch from the early bird menu. Lovely food and great value, polite, attentive staff. Would thoroughly recommend it. The pub is under new management so any reviews older than a month you can discount.

Nice atmosphere. Modern well decorated lounge area. Little pricey for the area but acceptable if you are used to city prices.

Although the place looks amazing and the staff are friendly, this is all I can say for the place, I wouldn't recommend the food, like warm chips, steak that tastes like charred salt, food took forever and a day to be served, 2 main meals came 15 minutes after everyone else's, in general the food let's this place down massively, no discount offered off of food for poor service or the poor food, we were told the chef had come out of retirement to cook there, well I recommend the chef re-retire and they hire a new chef or 2 to cope with and cook the food to a higher standard.

Good room and generious food portions. No Wi-Fi for rooms.

Very nice rooms! Very loud on the night we stayed due to live band playing in bar under rooms. Annoying alarm going off for hours in neighboring room in the early hours of the morning. Good breakfast.

Went to watch the England game, nice little pub clean and tidy.

All ways clean tidy friendly. Lovely Menu good food. Been coming here for three years now since we discovered it. Quality and quantity with affordable prices. It's one of our favourites in the area.

Good quantity of food for your money, and really tasty!

Great place to stay: clean, tidy, very friendly staff and really nice food. It is well located being near the waterfalls but also not a long drive to places like Afan Forest or Swansea depending on what you're wanting to do. The room was very nice; clean with a decent en suite, a very comfortable double bed and the air con (heating in the colder months) was very welcome. Definitely recommended and would stay again if/when I'm back in the area.
