This is the 2nd time we have visited the Moulin Inn I personally think its a great pub, even the exterior draws you into the pub, lovely warm fire and very comfortable seating booths, great bar in a great location.

Staff are so friendly and helpful. Jill in particular has been excellent.

Friendly staff n a warm welcome truly worth a visit we come every time we visit Pittlochrie.

Great beer and service. Lovely atmosphere.

Food was delicious! 😋 craft beer was delicious too! Definitely be back next year.

Amazing place — fabulous bar food, microbrewery so own beer, really helpful friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfasts, very welcoming. Have been coming for years and always happy to be back sad to leave.

Great dinner here tonight. We sat outside under the huge umbrellas, fire pits on the go to keep everyone cozy. Food was good for adults and kids. Lovely service too.

So peaceful, despite being full! They had just brought in new chimneas which added to the experience. Food was good, and the Braveheart & Atholl Brew were lovely! Highly recommended!

Really disappointing. The food wasn’t great — the staff went out of their way to be as unhelpful and as obnoxious as possible, manageress was equally rubbish. Lots of places to eat in the area — we chose to get 2 taxis up here — and the attitude of staff and poor food have been so disappointing. Try Fishers Hotel or McKays as the staff are much better.

Very traditional pub very much off the beaten track but worth a visit. Good choice of drinks available. We didn't eat but the menu looked good. We visit here every time we are in the area.

This place had the best food that I've had in Scotland. Absolutely delicious. We all had a great time there. The people were friendly as well as the lovely pooches.

We were here only a couple of nights, but wish we could have been there longer, the staff were courteous, friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble.
We ate both in the restaurant and the bar, and on both occasions, the food was exceptional. We would fully reccomend this for a long or short term stay.

Great food and their own beers are worth a diversion. Especially after a long windy walk.

My partner and I had a really nice visit for lunch on the afternoon of the 5th November 2018. Very much appreciated after a long walk to. & from a near by whisky distillery. We loved this little Inn full of character. The Grosstl was fab and my partner had the mushroom stroganoff. Washed down by one of the beers brewed locally. Staff were really good and we loved the interior of the Inn. A very fine visit in deed. And we look forward to a return.

Moulin Inn is almost midway en route from Edinburgh to Inverness and is an excellent stop for lunch. The space inside is classic old and cozy, surely great in winters. For summers though the sitting area outside is glorious to sit and have fresh beer from the brewery behind the hotel. Excellent food!

I've been coming to the Moulin Inn when ever I'm passing through Pitlochry and recommend to friends to come dine here if they are in the area. There is an old traditional bar with wooden beams on the ceiling which serves really great fish and chips and also serve their own brewed ale which is brewed on site. A great place to stay or dine in Pitlochry.

Yummy fish and chips as per usual. Took friend for her first time. She loved it too and hopefully will also bring new customers one day…

I've been looking forward to eating here for a long while, previously only ever had a drink. Was thoroughly disappointed and will not be in a hurry to re-visit. Service was pretty non existent, food lack lustre and very probably just heated in a microwave. The high chair we had to go find for our child was filthy and would fail any hygiene test. What a shame, lovely building and I guess they survive on one off tourist visitors?

The hotel pub gave us a fine meal with friendly service. Sitting outside in brilliant late afternoon sunshine, the was nowhere better to be. I had minute steak stuffed with haggis, followed by sticky whisky sponge pudding, it was delicious.

Usually get a great meal but was very disappointed when we visited a few days ago, I had the macaroni it could of been better could of been more thicker and more flavour. My husband had the steak pie there was no flavour and the meat was dry. As for the service it was really poor the boy that was behind the bar was far too distracted by the football. Didn’t have a clue on what he was doing with drinks had to ask if the kids meal drink was included in the price.

Got a deal for overnight with afternoon tea and breakfast. Told them I wouldn’t be arriving till late, and asked if we could get our tea after dinner—they said no problem. They even asked about dietaries and made something special for me. They were so accommodating. They even had made a note of it for breakfast and made sure to mention which foods would work for me. So kind and helpful. Wonderful room overlooking the burn where we could hear its lovely sound all night. Have always liked the pub and meals there too. Would definitely recommend and go here again! Thank you!

Nice beer. Makes 4 beers in an adjoining brewery plus the usual selection of keg beer and cider. Good selection of food but about £13-£15 for a main course. Also need a car to get here or a good 30 minute walk uphill!

Very quaint pub located on a hill in Moulin. Food is great and micro brewery out back makes a tasty range of 4 ales. Nice outside seating which we used in the great weather we had there. Very enjoyable lunch. Nice walk from Pitlochry.

Lovely old coaching inn just a mile north of Pitlochry. Pleasant walk and tasty bar supper in friendly wood paneled pub. Dogs welcome but maybe water bowls would be appreciated in warm weather. Great overall visit to Moulin Hotel (May 2018)

My girlfriend and I stayed here a week ago and had a fantastic time! Friendly staff and excellent service. Had the best fish n chips! The pub is amazing, so old n full of character with a nice cozy fire. And had a great sleep. Would highly recommend.

For me, the best pub in the Highlands. With its low ceiling, the typical furnishings and especially the open fireplace, this is a unique atmosphere. The food is delicious and the price OK. Here you can also enjoy a delicious beer from the Micro brewery next door. You should also try the beer. There are different varieties. The brewery can also be visited.

The hotel bar/restaurant was amazing. I had the chicken burger and my husband had steak pie both were delicious and was lovely eating it in front of the open fire. The hotel decor is a bit dated but is clean. The room we were given was nice enough but the bed was very uncomfortable and could do with a new mattress. I would probably not go back to stay but would definitely go back for a meal.

With a large selection of whisky and extremely local microbrewery ale and such a beautiful pub we had to stay. This ancient pub is beautiful and the staff are amazing, they really go above and beyond. Breakfast included with the reasonably priced room.

We feel privileged to have this splendid pub as our local. The malt of the month and open fire warm the coldest of parts.

Stayed here for 1 night on 28th January 2018, using a voucher deal for afternoon tea plus bed and breakfast. I had no problem booking the room and we were booked in no problem on the day. Room and breakfast were fine but, the afternoon tea was a bit disappointing, we weren't asked what we would like for our sandwiches, one of the fillings was just a bit cucumber, I don't like cucumber so was left with ham and mustard (would have preferred choice of mustard going on or not), or egg. The scones had been warned up in the microwave for too long and were hard, we did get replacements. The cream was just synthetic cream. There was no choice of cake, just what was obviously left over from Xmas, a mincemeat pie. I understand there has to be a budget, but, I think there could have been small changes at a small cost to improve the afternoon tea. Would have possibly gone back down to bar later for something to eat, but, bar meal prices were very expensive, so didn't bother. Have stayed here and eaten a few times before, but, found it not to its usual excellent standard.

Stayed here in 1971! Angus and Sheila ran the hotel then and I had an absolute blast as a teenager in a superb hotel. I have just rediscovered it and definitely plan a return visit. I am so glad the name did not change. Vintage picture has been added to the photo file.

Always enjoy the place. A little tired decor but wonderful warmth and hospitality. Having its own brewery is always helpful.

I came to this traditional pub at the heart of winter to a blazing fire. A quick panini and a hot chocolate with a shot of baileys filled me up for the rest of the day. There are panoramic views of the Perthshire hills from the car park.

Cozy little pub with similar food. Not an extensive menu but just right for this place. Some good beers. Service was really great.

Fòod disappointing. Had lamb shanks. Suspiciously like icelands boil in the bag. Bread and butter pudding inedible. Had eaten before in this pub and had great food. Will try again when in area.

We slept in the cottage, which is the only room where dogs are accepted. The cottage is made a very large House, only reserved for you with all the services of the hotel. The restaurant is good but does not offer the table order. When at breakfast included in the price of the room, it is hearty.

Good food and excellent beer. The beer is brewed locally and atmosphere in the Inn is very cozy.

Had a meal in the bar at the Moulin very traditional atmosphere with a roaring fire and good Scottish food. The mince and taties were excellent. Micro brewery next door provides a range of ales with free samples to allow you to select your favourite. Good range of Gins listed on a chalk board on the wall. Well worth a visit.

Was in today for lunch with friends over from the USA.
The service, the food, and staff left a lot to be desired.
I did not complain as I did not want to embarrass our friends on the last day of their holiday.
Most of the food we tried to order was not available.
The man who took the order didn’t have a very good attitude.
One of the orders we wanted was a toastie and we were told it was sandwiches only … surely if they have sandwiches available it would have been easy enough to toast one!
We asked for cheese and onions to be put on the tuna sandwich and he said it wasn’t on the menu!
How difficult is it to add something to a sandwich!
The braised onion soup was cold and tasted awful.
The brown bread for one of the sandwiches was hard.
The fish finger sandwich was listed as being “luxury” or “deluxe” and when it arrived was also stone cold with greasy batter.
It was half a fish finger per sandwich.
The jacket potato had been microwaved and looked awful.
The pastry on the steak pie was too dry.
I could go on but I think you should get it from this that the food was just awful.
The table was all sticky into the bargain and nobody came to ask if everything was ok.
If we had been on our own I would have returned everything and demanded my money back.
And to top it all off everything was well overpriced.
£64.00 down the drain.

Group of us including a dog had dinner and drinks in the bar. Lovely cosy the pub feel. Quality food and some tasty local ales.

The food was fantastic and well priced and it is surrounded by gorgeous scenery.

Four of us had our tea in the lounge. The steak and ale pie was the best I've had anywhere. The open fire, wooden beams and cosy nooks for each table make it a lovely place to eat. Larger groups might find it a squeeze to fit at a single table though. It's far enough away from the busy main street in Pitlochry to feel more relaxed. I'm sure we'll eat there again.

We had a three day break to Pitlochry, whilst there we decided on the Moulin Inn for dinner.
We loved the rustic style and warm atmosphere along with the traditional style Scottish menu. The food was well presented and reasonably priced, we liked it so much that we returned the following evening.
Do give it a visit full of history and charm, you won't be disappointed.

Smashing place, nice old Highland bar serving well-conditioned beer. Mostly traditional bar menu but everything we ordered was prepared and presented to a high standard. External seating where you can take your drinks and waiting staff will bring bar meals out. Brewery attached and local heritage centre directly across the street.

Stayed in the cottage which was spacious and comfortable and great value. Also ate in the pub/restaurant and was very impressed with the food. Would definitely stay again.

Nice quiet room. Lovely meals (although getting a seat can be hard). Breakfast ok. Parking hit and miss. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Popped in for some food after getting drenched climbing Ben Vrackie. After getting out of our wet clothes we had some very tasty food and drink — wish I'd tried their own beer (next time! ). Friendly family atmosphere and a nice roaring fire or two. Would come again.

1 1 1 draft beer and Coke chicken with black pudding and mince 1 n tatties both with mashed potatoes 1 raspberry crumble with ice cream and 1 bread butter pudding with raisins and custard to 37 $ ib everything. All good. You order at the counter. Historic and quaint place. Not easy to find a free table.

Nice outdoor sitting area with excellent beer from the brewer across the street.

An utterly wonderful traditional Scottish Pub, Inn and Hotel established in 1695 on an old Drover Road. It has character by the bucket load. Wonderful beers aplenty, and it even has its own own Microbrewery out back too! Thoroughly recommended!

Great food with quick and pleasant service. Dogs are welcomed with water and treats. Beer is a good price and is also very good.

Nice old fashioned pub with a log fire, shame about the uninspired menu. States there is free Wi-Fi but its password protected and none of the staff I asked could tell me the password.

A fine pint of Guinness… a great meal, wonderful atmosphere… and some startlingly interesting tales leaking through to the lounge from the bar regulars. All and all a great night oot.

Lived in Kirkmichael. 11 years ago. Now in Africa. Always remember the welcome. The fire in the bar and food but best of all the Braveheart beer brewed in their own brewery out back. Always was a welcome 11 mile drive once a week. Hope to be back in 2015 to sample your fayre again.

My friend had never had a bad meal from there until last weekend over cooked steaks chips instead of potatoas kids meal wrong fish fingers instead of a burger 4 out of 6 meals wrong? Young man serving sent an apology from the shef! Anyway paying for the meal before u get it not a fan of it! The Moulin had a great name hopefully just an off night! rant over.

A great place to stay. Not your 5* but has great character. Food excellent beer excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Had dinners at both the Pub and Restaurant at Moulin Inn, and had a very positive experience both times. Their locally brewed beer is tasty, and the decor is very welcoming. I had the lamb shank at the pub, which was delicious, and the the steak at the restaurant, which was more of a medium than the medium-rare I ordered, but still tasty. The restaurant doesn't seem to offer much higher quality food than the pub (and that's reflected in pretty even pricing between the two), and I preferred the ambiance of the pub to that of the restaurant.
