Did a walk in glad we did food was delicious and the young man on the bar was very pleasant same with the owner service was first class and was very fast getting served we had starters too but forgot to take pictures.

Really good food and staff are very welcoming only complaint was the bed was not very comfortable could feel the springs would have been better with a mattress topper on it did not sleep well.

Staff are excellent, from the second I walked in, great room service and delicious food. If I am ever back in Montrose I will surely be coming back.

Cant fault The George. Outstanding service each visit and amazing food! tonight we ordered a take out bcus of COVID19, the food tasted just as good and the portion size was fantastic, even got spare for later. Was in Montrose for the day popped in for lunch and it was too die for, Excellent portion sizes highly recommended.

Food is good, plain and wholesome. Had fish and chips and scampi with salad. All delicious and served hot.

Nice clean hotel. Excellent food in restaurant.

Room was nice enough. Very random art on walls. Restaurant was nothing special, staff busy messing about on phones or with each other. Table was sticky and there was very few people in so should have been very easy to get a good dinning experience and then at breakfast there was hair on the plate.

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Comfy room and good facilities. Breakfasts were plentiful, beautifully cooked (try the kippers! ) and served by pleasant staff. Evening meals served in reserved area in bar/restaurant. Great choice on menu. This stay was certainly value for money. Parking was just across road.

As most no I won the Mother’s Day high tea for 4. Well it was so so good the staff were great the place was fab no waiting taken straight in way and olny one thing need look in too vegan option too.

Room 20 has a window jammed open and in — 4 it aint good atol really would not recommend to anyone.

Fantastic food. Got married here. Staff hard working and excellent. Room was a little outdated and shabby looking, but the bathroom was Nice! Not a nice place to stay overnight at the weekend for its location is right across from a nightclub. A lot of shouting at night if youre on the wrong side of the building.

Good food but I've never had a worse service in my life. Waiting staff couldn't care less about the service they give.

Tonight my partner and I attempted to enjoy a meal here. The service from the 3 waiters was absolutely shocking. After taking our starter plates away we got a muttered ‘thanks’ and then the boy walked away. We then got our main course and the young boy once again walked away without a word. My partner then had to shout over a waiter to get another drink (which took an additional 10 minutes to pour a draught pepsi) in my opinion the waiter should have asked us if we wanted anything else when we got our meal. Not once did we see a waiter when we had our main meal in front of us. And then when I decided enough was enough and went to pay. The girl at the bar asked ‘ was everything okay? ’ To which I replied ‘ I suppose it will have to be. ’ And I never heard another peep from her. Overall the food was good (exception of the greasy onion rings) waiting staff: very bad and frankly just rude
Will we be back? No
Will we tell our friends and family about our time? Absolutely.

Took my daughter for her birthday lunch on Saturday being a bit late afternoon, we were still served with an excellent meal, good sized portions, prices very reasonable. Very relaxed atmosphere. Staff very pleasant and helpfull.

Very pleasant stay, the room was nice and good value for money.

Really dissapointed with last night meal at the George, I was out in a party of 8 people for a friends birthday, meal booked for 7 pm. We waited till about 8.15 pm for first courses, then waited even longer for next course. Meals arrived, 2 of us had chicken Goujons too dry and crispy to eat and chips were much the same, also table short of one dip to go with meal. I complained so meals taken away, after another wait we got a Hugh platter of chicken chips and salad for the two who had complained. It was over the top and not required so most of it wasted. We got an apology from waiter to say the chef was really sorry but nothing taken off the bill for waiting so long for meal, inconvenience of putting meal back and waiting for another one to be cooked. I think this is very disappointing as go there quite often but won't any longer. Bar staff stood chatting with waiters and had to go up to bar in middle of meal to ask for drinks too, very poor service.

The food + staff are fine its just the owner lets her dogs wander about + we dont know if they go in the kitchen.

Very good home style food. Had soup and sandwich combo. Totally worth it.

Had a short but plesant stay here, room was nice a clean (free biscuits were nice) bathroom was spotless too. If I was to go back to Montrose I'd happily stay there again.

Can't say it is my favourite place to go for a meal in Montrose. It is a strange set up as the bar area is long and thin, leading to you feeling like you are pushing past people. Food isn't particularly amazing and staff, the times I have been, could be more customer orientated.

Would rather give zero stars. Customer service appalling. Foul language used by a member of staff when he dropped a tray of drink on a customer. Another member of staff dropped cutlery down a customers back and told them it was ok and not to worry about it. I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture.

Went for a meal. Absolutely loves it! Great sized portions and good value for money. Will definitely be back. The menu is huge and there is a nice atmosphere in rrstaurant, definitely recommend.

The George hotel is very nice! The good is awesome and the staff are friendly. The prices are quite good. It's my favourite place to eat a meal.
