Nicest hotel we’ve stayed in for a long time. Very clean, helpful staff. Being disabled did everything they could to help. Restaurant and room service food good. Lovely bar to have a drink before dinner. Would highly recommended it, look forward to our next visit.

Lovely, peaceful, smart hotel. Staff are excellent as is the quality of the newly refurbished bar and lounge area. Very comfy and cosy single bedroom too.

We stayed in the executive suite and it was a lovely room and all the staff were very polite and helpful. Will definitely use them again.

A beautiful hotel just a short drive from Inverness. The staff was very friendly and helpful which I am finding is common in Scotland. The breakfast was delicious with one of the best sausages I have had in the UK. The rooms are a bit dated but very comfortable and spacious the next time we are in the area we will be coming back. They also have Highland cows on the property.

An unkempt, run-down, poorly run hotel. One should not be blinded by the facade. Bulk rubbish in the corridors, small rooms overlooking a dirty light shaft (I had the 109) — completely inattentive, overwhelmed staff. All concentration is for the registered groups in the house, single travellers disturb and are handled in disbelief on the side. After the bartender preferred to chat with colleagues and guests instead of serving, I took my own drinks out of the car and consumed them there, he didn't even notice.

The room was dated and the door was very thin with a large gap underneath, privacy was a concern for us as was the safety of our belongings in our room. The room was dated and needed refurbishment. It was a particularly hot day and the room didn't have air conditioning. These things aside, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel is set far off the main road, so it was peaceful and relaxing.

A disappointed mother of a teenager who attended her school's 6th year Prom at this hotel last week. Details of dietary requirements were shared with the hotel. So for a gluten free vegetarian, she was given a vegetable lasagne with garlic bread! The waiter had no idea what to do but luckily another member if staff stepped in and she got the leftovers from the vegans meal — a stuffed pepper and fruit sorbet. Disappointed that a hotel of this calibre doesn't have the capacity to accommodate all dietary requirements.

I was very impressed with this hotel, which is set within extensive grounds. You're in the middle of the town of Nairn but you would think you were out in the country. Large, well appointed rooms (with armchairs) and attentive staff.

Attended a wedding here over the weekend. Was beautiful, service was amazing and food was delicious. I would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

Beautiful surroundings, room is very spacious and staff very friendly and welcoming. Ing. The shower is the best power shower I've experienced! The generous breakfast set me up for the full day of being a tourist. Will definitely recommend.

My husband and I loved staying at the Newton Hotel on our visit. Beautiful grounds, great location, and the rooms were very spacious. The breakfast selection was great and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay again in the future.

Lovely spot. The surrounding property is very nice, the only caveat is that a significant portion of the rooms are in a recently built addition and not the the original Newton House.

I really enjoyed my valentines overnight stay 14.02.2018. The hotel is in a beautiful setting close to the centre of Nairn & the beach. I loved the fact that it had a traditional highland feel, with modern accents in the main public areas and bar. Our room was huge, having 2 comfortable chairs was a great touch. I really dislike hotels where there’s no additional seating apart from the bed. You guys got it spot on, this made watching TV and chilling before bed so much more comfortable. The dinner, bed and breakfast deal was excellent value. My vegetarian request was actioned with ease, we both really enjoyed our evening meals. We also enjoyed a couple of gins in the bar, before bed. Breakfast next morning was excellent and perfectly cooked. I most certainly will be returning again, next time for longer than 1 night. P. S the highland cows on site were a great find after breakfast. A real treat. They were all so friendly. Thanks & see you again soon. It was very relaxing.

Lovely building. Very comfortable warm room with the biggest bed I've ever seen. Food wasn't the greatest but passable.

A really beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. The staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive. My room was lovely, comfortable and extremely clean. It was the food for me that is the star of the show. Excellent. I will definitely be staying here again.

I want to publicly say that the Muthu Newton hotel is of a very high degree of venue and place in which to stay as well as holding workshops, seminars and conferences where service is above and beyond sheer excellence on every level.

On a trip to the Highlands on their way to Inverness we diverted to Mairn by advice from a friend who recommended it and it was a success the hotel conforms to castle the large rooms and well equipped their living room with the fireplace on and their fantastic views passed A few nice days the good price.

The room is delightful. I write on the first day of 6 ahead and I'm impressed. Staff so far have been VERY welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was okay seeing as we were late down, bacon a litte dry but I'm certainly not complaining as it was very tasty. Only one small gripe the base of the shower door is a bit mouldy on the seal but the interior is spotless as are the other porcelains. Beds comfortable furnishings lovely and the size of the room just wonderful! This Hotel is going on one of my favourite lists!

Very nice building but rooms clearly no luxury. The cleaning is very average and the rooms are défraichies. The restoration is very average too.

Had a very special room here with our own spiral staircase leading up to a sitting room in the tower! was one of our favorite rooms on our honeymoon. A very beautiful place with so much history. Breakfast was delicious. Seeing the highland cattle in the front field was pretty neat as well.

Very beautyfull old hotel. Very chic but we felt welcome with just common clothing. The receptionists were kind and seriously interested. The room was beautyfull even though it is old. There renovating a part of the hotel.

You get to this hotel and the grounds and the reception and lounges restaurants are breath taking and look fantastic. The hallways with ceilings really good. It's was such a pleasure to see such a place and the staff were brilliant and so helpful. Then you go upstairs to your room and it's like you walked into a totally different hotel. Rooms are run down and are in very poor repair. Carpets are stained and dirty. My room the door lock was broken, plug sockets were broken and generally in a very poor state not worth half of the £85 charged for the night. So I'd great place for venue as long as you don't go upstairs or sleep there. If the upstairs looked like the downstairs and the bedrooms were presented correctly for the standard of the hotel I would of given a 5 star instead of a 3

A beautiful and authentic hotel. Rooms were great and has anything you need. Short walk to the beach and the golf course. I would stay here again.

This was an incredible experience — the staff were very helpful and professional, the food was excellent and definitely worth every pound and moment! The only thing that was a bit off-putting was the way the water system in the bathroom was — completely separate hot and cold water taps on the sink, and it was difficult to get a solid temperature on the shower, but I believe this was just an older style of plumbing setup. Not a detractor in my book, though, as it's a different country and different experience!

Stunning hotel, short walk to Nairn beach. Rooms are slightly dated but this is made up for by the friendly nature of the staff. Asked for a cot in the room and this was in the room on arrival. Breakfast was a decent spread and kept me going for the day.

The hotel is located in a wonderfully tranquil area. The staffs are friendly and courteous. The restaurant serves amazing cuisine and even the most basic dish can be so well presented. There is a good selection of breakfast items.

We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist when we arrived at this hotel. She explained that the hotel was undergoing refurbishments. There were notices up informing guests of this. We had a large beautiful room with a wonderful view. Food was first class and staff were extremely pleasant.

Exterior of hotel, the grounds and location were lovely. Staff very welcoming and attentive however the rooms and food were a big let down. We stayed in a suite as opposed to a standard room and were very disappointed. The decor was dated and tatty including ripped wallpaper and an uncomfortable bed. The bathroom was also poor with a weak shower that didn't even fit into its hold. Had a 3 course evening meal and breakfast the following day. Average meal but chicken was dry, next to no gravy, sticky toffee pudding was also dry and breakfast could have been better. I would not stay here again if I was returning to the area.

The Newton Hotel has beautiful rooms, extra comfy beds, fantastic staff, and great food. A short walk takes you to a lovely beach. I could spend a week here just relaxing, but there are also a fair bit to do nearby if you can tear yourself away from the beach.

Brendan & I would like to say a massive Thankyou to Janet and all the staff at the Newton for making our day so special. Janet was there with us every step of the way, helping us with things we should be doing at different stages as we were clueless right up to setting things up for us. Nothing was a bother! Everyone was so helpful & accommodating, even going the extra mile for the photographer finding him appropriate food (as he is vegan). If your looking for a stunning venue with amazing staff, look no further. We are so grateful, thank you! X.

Hotel makes her become the outer impression, unfortunately it was already all good what I can tell.
The staff was rude and surly. In the room the window was so blocked that one out could see little. The chairs were worn Sitzpolzter violently. The beds were on rollers, which meant that they quickly rolled away.
At dinner in the restaurant, you have us taste and optical canned meals. It got no yogurt for breakfast.
These are all defects which at one hotel may not be 4 star!

The hotel rooms have lots of facilities. For what you get, it's good value. Food at the restaurant was also good. Though unlike the rooms, it's over priced.

A gem of a hotel in Nairn. The building is gorgeous and staff pretty good. However some general maintenance work wouldn't go astray.

Lovely hotel, nice and friendly staff, we had 3 nights here parking for the motorcycle was no problem, petrol station was 100 yards along the road, its only 16 mile from inverness on a straight road in, food was pretty good and not to pricey as you would imagine from a hotel of this standard! try the curry lentil soup! beautiful! so thanks to all the staff who made our stay a very good one and we hope to be back in the near future les and jane mavin ROOSTER MOTORCYCLES.
