We had the good fortune to spend our vacation week in Scotland, and lived at this time at Avalon Guest House. Val and Paul are the best hosts you could wish for. We consider again to go to Scotland and will come back in the Avalon Guest House as soon as we make our way to Inverness.

Val & Paul were the perfect hosts, very warm & friendly and will do anything to help out where they can. The guest house is of a high spec quality and extremely clean and welcoming. Everything you need is there! We will definitely be booking to stay here again in our travels to the highlands.

I found the whole experience pleasing from start to finish. I have mobility problems and managed the walk along the river from central Inverness. So much to see and do. The proprietors are friendly and helpful. We had a tiny problem in our room which was remedied immediately. Would definitely stay again.

Stunning house rooms are spotlessly clean with such great attention to detail. All the wee extra touches show that Val and her husband really care about their guests. Loved having a fridge in my room and great parking and so easy to walk into town. Really appreciated Val sorting an early breakfast for me as I had to leave early in morning to attend an appointment. Can’t wait to stay again!

This is a lovely bed and breakfast within walking distance of downtown Inverness. The room was quiet and well-appointed, and they serve a great hot breakfast, cooked to order. Run by a very friendly couple who were happy to recommend restaurants in town.

We were there for the last week (5 nights) in September and it was lovely, the owners made us feel very welcome the room was very clean, very well laid out and comfortable. The added bonus was that the owners left a bottle of wine for us on our arrival and there were two chocolates each day. Great breakfast with good choices. We would certainly recommend staying here and it is definitely 5 star accommodation and food.

Well-run guesthouse fairly near the centre of Inverness.

We spent two nights with Paul and Val in early June. We had a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. There were several breakfast choices to satisfy our party of four. The city area was only a nice leisurely 10 minute walk. There are several places to eat or stop for a drink. Paul and Val are helpful in making reservations but I would suggest in the busy season, that you ask them to do this before your arrival as the restaurants book up early. We were there on a Saturday and enjoyed strolling around an outdoor marketplace set up on the city streets with fresh baked goods, cheeses, fruits, jewelry and other goods. Unfortunately, we left our travel carry-on bag behind upon checkout. They were most helpful in getting everything shipped back to us safely. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them if we are back in Inverness on another trip.

Compared to other accommodations that I have rated 5 stars would have to get this 6-7
Very clean, adequately sized rooms, very nice bathroom, everything functional and logically furnished.
You know what a guest needs.
The breakfast in Scottish style was delicious and plentiful.
The location is good too, you can easily walk to the city centre
Parking in front of the accommodation search perfect.

We are just back from a 4 night stay in this fabulous b&b. We arrived to a friendly welcome from Val and Paul who immediately made us feel at home. When we got to our beautiful double room they had decorated it for my 50th and got me a lovely card and a gift pack with wine, wine glass and chocolates. What a lovely gesture and surprise. The breakfast here is amazing the best we have ever had at any other b&b. The whole house is beautifully decorated and very homely. We had prosecco and shortbread on New Years Eve which was a lovely touch. We enjoyed our wee walks to town by the river ness it's only about 10 mins to town centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it. We can't wait for our next visit. Love Sally and David Belfast xxx.

Wonderful place to stay! Spotless clean, super comfortable mattress, excellent breakfast and amazing service. Walking distance to the city centre and with a lot of things to see around. Highly recommended!

Perfectly pleasant place to stay with a rather well done included breakfast. Convenient to bus service or a bit of a walk to city center. Proprietors are nice but rather strict on time of check in/out and meals.

I expected much more for comments he had read. I have no complaints about care or room or restrooms. The bed is another thing. It was short! It was not located as close as I thought. You have to use the car to go to visit the city centre or dinner.

Fortunate enough to have travelled to Inverness twice staying at Avalon both times (in diff rooms). The hosts were polite and rooms immaculate — even when tested with a white glove! Sausages were rather tasty too.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Avalon Guest House this summer. We had a friendly welcome and our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We will definitely re-book.

Friendly, attentive welcome, lovely room with nice touches, a great breakfast, and efficient check out. Rooms are modern and clean. My bathroom wasn't ensuite but was exclusive use and well equipped. Definitely use it again.
