Absolutely Breathtaking Hideaway with Stunning Surroundings!

10/10
We had the most incredible experience staying at a beautiful place nestled in the heart of the Balachulish, in Glencoe in view of some gorgeous mountains in Scotland — The Heronry! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounded this hidden gem, and our stay exceeded all expectations.

The location is simply breathtaking. Tucked away amidst the rugged and awe-inspiring landscapes of the Glencoe mountains, the accommodation offers a unique and unforgettable escape from the UK. Every window revealed a stunning, picture-perfect view of the rolling hills, tranquil lochs (with Loch Leven just outside of the hideaway in direct view), and the dramatic peaks of the surrounding mountains. There were beautiful sunsets and sunrises right from the kitchen window.

The cozy and well situated/tucked away cabin is a true sanctuary. From the moment we stepped inside, I felt the warmth and luxury of the place — it was clear that the owners invested their passion in to everything within. The rooms were not only tastefully decorated but also incredibly comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the great outdoors. I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail and the thoughtful touches that added a touch of luxury to my stay — we loved everything about the decor.

The fireplace, was a godsend in October — you just cannot beat the smell and timeless sensation of the configuration. The host left plenty of logs for us to burn each night with some straight-forward instructions — always a plus and nice touch.

My partner often commented how amazing the shower was — the pressure was great and the water was soft. The beds were extremely comfortable and the under-floor heating was very much appreciated given the Autumn season and colder temperatures outside.

One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding areas — there is a beautiful walk right outside which leads in to the mountains, and in addition driving to Fort William was a great experience, particularly if you wanted to see the highest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis.

The proximity to some of Scotland's most iconic hiking trails and outdoor activities was a major plus. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply want to soak in the natural beauty of the Glencoe mountains, this location offers easy access to unforgettable adventures — the Steall Waterfall is also within a short drive to Fort William.

In summary, our stay here which was possible thanks to the host and owners of this stunning hideaway in Balachulish, Glencoe mountains was a truly magical experience, and I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a Scottish getaway that combines breathtaking natural beauty, warm and friendly service from the hosts, and a cozy and comfortable, yet breathtaking atmosphere, this is the perfect destination. I can't wait to return to this remarkable place — the hideaway is just a straight 10/10 and it allowed us to completely disconnect from our busy lives back home, whilst staying connected thanks to the hosts connectivity provisions which came in handy due to an urgent work matter for a few hours.

All in all, a 10/10 from us and we'd like to extend our gratitude for the experience, to the hosts!
