Staff are brilliant and warm reception great place food top class.

Excellent service throughout the hotel. The menu is adventurous and to a high quality. We upgraded to one of the newly refurbished rooms — 5 stars.

The staff and food and lovely open fire made very welcome and had a lovely stay.

Great Hotel, this is my 4th time at this hotel and I love it. Friendly staff and great food. Good entertainment. Great log fire and hotel is very warm. Only down side is pillows are not very good, very hard.

Beautiful hotel. Typical Scottish Highland hotel but upgraded. Lovely reception with open fir. Rooms are beautiful.

First class hotel, comfortable rooms and a good evening menu. Staff are helpful and polite. This hotel has a high standard of cleanliness. This our third visit and not the last. This weekend we are here for the murder mystery weekend.

Had lunch ordered drinks soft diluting for the youngest drinks came and the metal pourer from the actual orange bottle was in the drink thankfully I noticed it before our youngest 2yr old drank it. Ordered 2 x cheese sandwiches with geese only no onions or chutney ham sandwich with nothing steak sandwich and scampi 1 cheese came with everything on it ham was fine just what we ordered so the girls ate into the ham sandwich along with chips and fish fingers (scampi) the other plain cheese one came after saying it was missing mostly eaten but disappointed.

Lovely spacious clean room. Bathroom was lovely. Had dinner here also food was delicious.

We went as a group of 8 with 3 children. The service was ridiculously sloe — the table was booked for 5.30 and by 6.40 we still hadn't had our main courses. When the main courses did come, around 6.45 one wS missing. They said they would comp us the missing meal only to then not do this. One of the waitresses treated arguing with us about the bill. The only person there who knew what they were doing, and she was absolutely wonderful all round, was the waitress with the dark curly hair, whose name I did not catch, who sorted the bill in the end.

It is a place to stop and rest, sort of a rest stop. The hotel handles groups so the service is not great. The rooms are very small. The staff is nice. Looks better than what it is.

Two weeks ago we stayed at this hotel. We were on a Trafalgar tour that was excelent until we stayed here for two nights. My husband and I are in our seventies we were put on the third floor with no elevator that went there. The room was hot and we asked for a fan and was told no fans available. The food was terrible and their was no coffee served after dinner. The staff was rude and very unfriendly. Keep away.

A slightly retro hotel that would need a fix. Imaginative menu proposed for dinner (macedonia as starter and sorbet as a middle dish, to close the chicken)

Review from German/American point of view: Staff was very friendly to me as english speaker; non-english speakers had problems. Breakfast OK, something for everybody (FRESH fruit would've been nice). Chairs in dining room very impractical; heavy and too big for that many people sitting so close. My matress was horrible and old (had to stuff pillow under my back). Water tap in bathroom was old style; some rooms without mixing taps. Old carpets throughout the entire hotel; charming or nasty? (questionable). But all in all very rustic, Scottish and charming. Would come back.

A fairly large hotel at the Deco which dates a bit and at the complicated plan to access its room the first time asks for some help otherwise, the drinks are reasonably priced, one made an effort for original dishes at the restaurant and the rooms are comfortable the Wi — Fi works well.

Staff meals and room were all exellent will be going back for sure.

Very disappointing. Pictures paint an inaccurate view. Staff were fine and very helpful but the whole place is in dire need of a re fit out. We were given a room on the ground floor which was tired looking at best and was so close to the entertainment that we couldn’t sleep. After a days walking the last thing we wanted. The room looked like an old store room converted. We were moved to another room on the top floor. This was better but very hot at night and with no means to cool. It was May by the way! I would hate to be in this room in July. Throughout the whole building we hardly stepped on a floor board that didn’t creak! This makes using the toilet at night quietly impossible. It’s not the staffs fault the owners need to refurb asap. Also no vegitarian options for breakfast. After asking we eventually got some vegitarian sausages.

The service is excellent the food (if hot) piping hot if cold still frozen. Staff very pleasant and helpful. The rooms nicely decorated not too moden and not to old croaky beds comfortable, hot water in bath and shower didn't run out, clean towels everyday, plenty tea coffee milk ever morning in room.

My mother-in-law stayed at The Duke of Gordon Hotel last month. She was dismayed at the shabbiness of the soft furnishings; the curtain linings were in shreds, the dining chairs were very badly stained and carpets were marked and threadbare in places. This is a hotel to avoid.

Stayed here many times coming with cairngorm travel meals great Kingussie lovely place to visit especially the Highland folk museum really interesting 3 mile away at Newtonmore.

Lovely hotel in Kinguisse, with nice rooms and staff. This hotel addresses a slightly older crowd with daily dance and live music events as well as a little outdated decor. All this adds up to its own unique charm, prompting me to give 5 stars here.

Nice for a quiet break, beautiful mountain scenery nice helpful staff; reasonably priced actually very good.

Just got home from staying in the duke of gordon. I love this place. The staff can not do enough for you. Always made to feel very welcome.

The accommodation itself was very nice. However, breakfast was a disappointment. We were told that someone would be around to take our order for coffee/tea, but after spending at least 30 minutes waiting/eating, we were never brought any tea.

Just had our 20th holiday here gets better every time food great staff very helpful. Already booked for next year.

Brilliant hotel and well worth a visit. It's our third time here and we will be back. The food is excellent, unless you are an a diet, the staff are friendly and the evening entertainment is a lot of fun.

Comfortable hotel, good food, warm. Nearby railway station to Inverness and pitlochry.

Stayed here a few years ago with the Army for winter orientation training. Hotel was good and the food was great, I will be comming back very soon to get my skies on again.

A lovely traditional hotel. Certainly more attractive to the "older" travellers but nonetheless still a good choice for a night or two stay.

We have stayed here on numerous occasions with a coach party. We have never had to complain about anything. We have had some great nights there. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food has always been good and plentiful.

I had food in the bar. Scampi and chips. The food was perfectly fine but seemed like it might have been frozen and not any better than I could make at home. I expected more for £9.50. The beer was excellent.

We were intending to eat here but quickly lost our appetites after seeing the large Union Jack flying outside.

Food is good, though not just quite as good as in the tipsy Laird. Service is exceptional, we even got to taste some ales before ordering. There is also a wide range of Whiskies at the bar. All in all commendable and a very nice experience.

The rooms are nicely decorated. The beds are fine, but the bathroom does not meet today's requirements. The rooms on the upper floors can only be reached by a staircase. Difficult for Ältrte or handicapped. The food is good, the bar also.

Very welcoming staff very friendly, a few little improvement in some aspects in our room en-suite left a little to be desired no hook to hang bathrobe or anywhere to put wash bag etc. The meals were good although breakfast a bit long winded.

We stopped here for a bite to eat and for the kids to stretch their legs. The hotel had a lovely, quaint, old fashioned (in a good way) look to it. The food was fine. It was from a bar type menu. The kids portions were huge. There was also a kids playpark at the back of the hotel which was excellent for cooped up kids on a long journey. If travelling that way in the future, I would definitely use this place for a pit stop again.

Lovely hotel, clean and well furnished rooms. Food excellent with plenty of choice. Staff friendly and helpful Books and games provided for rainy days. Good Entertainment every night. Cost very reasonable. Would definitely go again and recommend to my friends and family.

Been the last 3 years. The hotel — stafe — food — and itenary all spot on. 2015 and 2016 rooms were lovely. This year I was in room 2 my friend in room 4. Room for improvement on both. Just got back fom snowflakes today x our coach driver Steve P coach 2 was the best ever. I will request his coach again or I will not be back Ste. Had a fab time. The Duke of Gordon is a great hotel for a nice wee break cosy and warm with good food and comfort we are planning to go back for our fifth time.

Just come back from 3 nights at the duke of Gordon. We've been to this hotel before. The meals were exactly the same. Breakfast was just ok. No entertainment or coffee for two nights. Hotel staff were very friendly. Not helpful when it came to mending the tv.

Nice older hotel. Wood burning fire in the lobby was welcome on a chilly afternoon when we arrived. The room was comfortable and dinner and breakfast were both tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For those under 50, evening activities are better had at one of the bars down the street. There was an elderly tour bus crowd the night we stayed.
