The baldaquin room was big and clean, however the bed was too old (kind of bumpy) and the shower was difficult to keep warm, and there was no water pressure. Welcome was quick and with no attention. Breakfast was nice.

Very nice mansion, very large and well decorated room, warm welcome and really cheap price for the Kings room we had.

Zimmer sind sehr groß, vor allem für den Preis. Das Personal ist sehr sehr freundlich. Die Ausstattung ist überholt und nicht alles ist super sauber aber man fühlt sich trotzdem wohl. Das Frühstück ist große Klasse und das Essen im hauseigenen Restaurant hervorragend. Dazu Hunde freundlich. Eine Empfehlung wer hier in der Gegend ist.

Columba House Hotel was a wonderful surprise in its discrete location. The room was generous (the bathroom was huge) and very warm and comfortable. The staff provided genuinely friendly and efficient service and the meals were delicious. We particularly enjoyed having a drink in the lounge and chatting with other guests and the garden would be lovely in good weather.

Comfy beds, attentive and courteous staff and excellent food.

The bed was warm and soft and they accepted a last-minute booking even during the low season. We appreciated the coffee and tea in the room and the sofa for watching the TV out of the bed. The breakfast wasn't served as advertised which we understand if it wasn't part of the amenities because of the season, however, it would have been nice to have the communicated to us at check-in. Definitely a good value!

Beautiful property. We stayed in the Minister's Study room which was excellent. We went out for dinner as we felt the the menu was over priced. Had a drink from the bar later which proved expensive. A single malt and a large house red wine over £12, Other than that nice place to base yourself.

Very disapointed resturaunt and bar closed at 6pm really. The room could do with a lick of paint and the furniture was dated not period. The bed however was kingsized and very comfortable and apart from the wind through the window and some mechanical device starting at 5.30am it was deadly quiet. I think perhaps the noise was an air extractor in someones bathroom as the one in mine was like a 747 taking off. One of the bedside lamps didnt work. Pictures on the LRs website I booked through should be taken down as they do not depict reality. On departure there was nobody around to let know about any of the faults despite pressing the bell 2 times. If I had not pre paid or had extras to pay I could have been waiting some time. This was at 9am on a Thursday so not the crack of dawn. Saying this the only staff member I met was friendly and with a bit of work and better managment the place would be great.

I stayed there one night with my friend after a long trip from northern Scotland. It was really nice, cozy and pretty place to stay. We had dinner and breakfast there, the foods was amazing. The staffs were super nice and friendly.

It's a very nice place with friendly staff and amazing kitchen. All meals we had were delicious. We could choose from a decent range of single malts. Finally, my desert was probably the best chocolate cake I've ever had.

5 stars for value for money. Lovely quaint place. Shows it's age but that's one of the reasons it's brilliant, character in abundance. Everything you look at in the hotel has a story, from marble chess set in the snug to ornaments and pictures in the hallways and rooms. Second visit here, returning after a great first visit. Proving the quality wasn't a fluke. Fantastic restaurant and do not miss the great breakfast. Recommend.

I stayed at Columba House Hotel for one night and had a lovely time. The hotel is very attractive from the outside and nicely decorated inside with period decorations. I didn't use the bar or restaurant but it has a nice sitting area down stairs. The bedroom was nice with a four poster bed and a good size bathroom. The only areas for improvement would be the light bulb in the main bedroom light as it was to dim and the Wi-Fi signal was very weak in our room.

Great location and fantastic facilities, service was amazing too.

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Columba hotel. The staff were very hospitable and very kindly picked us up from the station, our room was nice with a big comfy bed and nice en suite bathroom and breakfast was lovely.

The hotel was lovely and set within a nice area that offered some lovely views. The rooms were pleasant however dated and need some improvements — there was peeling paint in the bathroom. The restaurant was beautifully presented and the food gorgeous. However I was not too pleased with the reception or the way we were treated. One member of staff was very pleasant to other customers but one worded and rude to my partner and I for NO apparent reason as we were nothing but pleasant and full of thanks. And lastly we were over charged with the bill but it was easy sorted but then met with an icy "goodbye". I won't be staying again as I feel discriminated against and won't be feeling uncomfortable again. I would recommend it as it is set in a nice location.

Stayed here for one night at short notice. Very good location for visiting the nearby wildlife park, which is definitely worth a visit. Our room was a little tired, however this was more than made up for by the superb restaurant and meal. This would be a great place I would think for a small/medium wedding, as there are several rooms, a beautiful venue for the meal, a lovely bar and snug and also quite a bit of outdoor area if the weather was fine. If I was looking for somewhere to stay in this area again… would I stay here again? … Definitely, yes.

The only drawback with our stay was we were only staying the one night but will definately be coming back.
