Every time I come over I’m straight here for a feed and what a great feed it is, the staff are really friendly and very good at their job and the food is simply amazing Honestly five out of five stars.

Went to the Craignelder last night to celebrate my wife's 60th Birthday what a night what a restaurant. Food of the highest quality should have 6 Michelin stars. Fantastic staff, lovely cocktails all at a reasonable price. Add it to your bucket list well worth a visit.

Meal was absolutely lush and service brilliant I had my son with me who won’t sit down for long and staff were amazing.

The food is superb. The choice is excellent and the price very reasonable.

We had our Christmas night out last night and the food and service was fantastic! This by far has been the best organised establishment for Christmas nights in Stranraer (and I've been to 3). Plenty of happy staff, what a difference that makes.

We had a family meal on Friday evening which was really fantastic. The best steak in years — it was actually perfect, and the whole meal was exceptional value for money.
The staff were friendly, helpful, happy and attentive, creating a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Thank you.

Meals did'nt take ages to come out and they all came together. This was for a party of 12. Great choice of menu and generous portions.

On the 22/09/2018 we held our wedding here and we can’t actually explain the day we had from the minute me and my maids arrived we were made sure we were looked after. Hammy Aileen and the staff went out there way in anyway they could. From helping us get ready to making sure everything was perfect and our guests where well looked after! The staff where very cheery no matter what was asked of them! Our day was perfect and it was all down to yous! From the bottom of mine and Scott’s hearts thank yous for everything! Xx.

We are finishing up now and we had a table for 11, 6 adults 4 kids one older kid. The food was amazing the service was amazing always willing to go the extra mile! Own parking on site, great prices seeing as they are in a town a distance from the main towns. We went to a lovely bakery in portpatrick, when we said we had booked here she said you won’t get a better place in the area! She was right! I’m fussy and accommodated everything! If you visit Dumfries and Galloway this is a must visit!

Great hotel and staff. The owner is there to make sure everyone is happy. The room was very nice and clean. We opted for the king size bed which was very comfortable. The room furniture looked new as does a lot of the hotel furnishings. The meal was great in the dining room. I would stay here again.

Great location, fabulous helpful, friendly staff and scrumptious food! On top of all that my bed was comfy and the shower was hot and strong. Great value accommodation.

The room I was in was very spacious and comfortable the food was excellent and also enjoyed the breakfast. Will definitely be going back there again.

This is a very well run Three Star hotel. Staff are lovely and the rooms are clean and presentable. The quality is considerably higher than the price would suggest.

Had my hen do here on Saturday night and it was absolutely perfect! Couldn’t have ran any smoother! There was 24 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and cocktails! Thanks to all the staff for putting up with us! We loved it.

Great food great place though really needs an accessible toilet.

Lovely meal here. Fussy husband commented "Good food and it came on a plate! " His bugbear is food coming out on slates/chopping boards/in baskets/buckets. He's been known to send it back and ask for it on a plate.

The food was fantastic, the staff made us so welcome, the rooms were excellent, had best night sleep ever, best hotel we stopped in. Just been again everything still fantastic only thing I would not do is sleep ground floor, bed was amazing going back soon.

It's ok, nothing special, not a great portion size, but it is only pub grub after all!

Stayed here last night, room was lovely and clean, we had a lovely meal in the restaurant and staff were very friendly I would Defo recommend this place. And if I’m ever going to Stranraer again this would Defo be the place to stay for me.

Would like to thank Craignelder for a fantastic Christmas dinner, food was outstanding, as was the detail to service, we all felt it was like being at home but without the cooking, a big thank you to all the chefs, bar staff and waitresses who worked to give us such a lovely day, Merry Christmas xx.

Had my wedding here yesterday from start to finish from staying here the night before the "The big day" to getting married in the hotel was first class beautiful rooms and the food was amazing, lovely bunch of staff who couldn't do enough for us thank you so much.
